V-Moda - Crossfade M-100 Over-the-Ear Headphones are terrific. These headphones have very clear sound, and great bass that does not get in the way of clarity. I also find them comfortable to wear, but buying bigger size ear-cups are an option from the manufacturer. You even have the option to customize and engrave the "shield" covers on the headphones. I find these headphones to be a pretty solid match for any music genre, but seem to be best for pop, rock, and hip-hip type sounds.

I couldn't be happier, I have spent the last 2 years being frustrated with high-end headphones, Beats, Boss, JBL etc. It was staring to feel like I couldn't touch Hi-Fi without stepping up to a $800 pair of cans, then I found these headphones. As I put them through their paces I was consistently impressed with their sound-staging and their ability to handle everything from the lows in Riff Raff's 'Dolce and Gabbana' to the amazing highs on Amy Winehouse's 'Stronger Than Me'. Defiantly order the XL memory cushions, they are much more comfortable (especially if you have big ears like me) and they actually improve the sound noticeably. And the whole reason I actually took the time to write this review...their customer service is amazing! I had an issue that was completely not their fault but I have learned over the years that Hi-Fi brands seem to always be really helpful (thank you Marantz and B&W!) and V-Moda was no different. Their response to my issue? "That's a nightmare! Let me ship you those replacement parts ASAP so that you can get back to enjoying your music"

The V-Moda Crossfade M-100s are simply the best headphones that you can get in this price range. You don't need to read the rest of the review; just accept the fact that these will be the last headphones you ever buy. For the rest of you that are still reading this, I hope to be helpful. Let's walk through our first interaction with these amazing cans. Appearance: Beats have long been the most attractive headphones available, due to their bright colors, uniform appearance, and overall lack of ugliness we are used to with over the ear headphones. The M-100s lack the brightness of the Beats headphones, but make up for this with a classy look and the fact that they just LOOK high quality. However, their great appearance can't be truly appreciated until you put them in your hands. Build Quality: These headphones are made of high quality materials and everything is 100% functional, from the headband to the leather material to the covers themselves. The hinges are unique and fold up to leave quite a small footprint for over ear headphones. On to the actual reliability of these headphones, it can be put quite simply. You will never break these unless you try to. That's it. These headphones can probably be used as a helmet substitute (slight hyperbole). If for some reason they get caught in the blast radius of a nuclear explosion and break, V-Moda will help you replace them at 50% off MSRP. It is very rare for a company to do that, and that proves that they are proud of their product. Features: Inside the extremely well packaged container, you will find the headphones, two auxiliary cables, a case, and some other unimportant oddities. The headphone cables are wrapped in kevlar (going back to build quality) and the leads at the end are extremely high quality. One of the ends are even set at a 45 degree angle, which helps prevent tugging and pulling on the cable to help save your device as well as the cable itself. One of the cables is shorter (3 feet I believe), orange in color, and has the inline pause/play button as well as a separate microphone attachment. I never use the microphone, but it does seem to be of decent quality. The other cable is twice as long, black in color, and has an inline splitter so a friend can listen in with their S@#*!y Apple Earpods. The semi-hard case that comes with the headphones is very nice, just like most high end cases are. I was able to put the headphones and the cable in very easily, with room to put a few other very small items inside. And now....le plat de resistance...Sound Quality: The sound quality is amazing. It is tough to believe that you can get crisp highs and insane bass response out of one set of headphones, but you can. These are by no means audiophile headphones, but if you were an audiophile you wouldn't be reading my consumer retail review. These are aimed at the average listener, and they excel in every aspect. You will fall in love with all of your music all over again. You will hear notes/rhythms/lyrics within songs that you have never heard before because the soundstaging ability of the M-100s is incredible. All of the drivers receive their proper signals, and you can finally listen to music the way it was meant to be listened to. I listen to everything from Classical to Reggae to my personal favorite, Rap/Hip-Hop (WU-TANG FOREVER) and I have never once been disappointed with the M-100s as far as sound quality goes. You simply cannot beat these at the price. The only way these headphones get better is if you hook them up to an amplifier. You will cry tears of joy because you will be more overjoyed than the day your first-born child came into the world (slight hyperbole). My Complaints: I have fairly large ears, and sometimes these headphones get uncomfortable after long periods of time. After an hour or so, I used to take them off to readjust, but I wear them so frequently now I no longer have that problem. The inline cable should have volume control. I have gotten used to settling for a temporary pause if I need to, but I think that this is a simple, easy detail that should not have been overlooked. The only way I could excuse it is if they could not build one that would be as reliable as the rest of the product, but I still want it. Noise leakage and noise isolation is excellent on these headphones and better than all that I can think of in its class, especially for passive noise cancelling, but I wish it were a little better. I usually listen to my music on max volume or near max volume, so most users will probably not have this problem. Overall: This is, in my opinion, the only option when it comes to headphones in the $300 and under range. It's tough to even draw a comparison, and the closest a product can probably come are Sennheiser Momentums or Pioneer HDJ-2000s. Both of those are excellent products if you simply have to have competitive options, but I believe the M-100s edge them out in nearly all categories, and blow them out of the looks category. I hope you all have enjoyed my first ever review, and I hope you found me informative in your decision. I wrote the review because it took me several months to pick a pair of headphones, because I enjoy champagne on a beer budget. These are by no means beer budget, but the value is off the charts. Thank you for reading, and good luck choosing (although the real choice has already been made) Overall Rating: 9.5 out of 10 (for the small aforementioned complaints)

These headphones were bought to replace a pair of Bose QuietComfort 25's that were unacceptable due to a defectective plug/cord. The V-Moda Crossfade M100's are superior to the Bose in almost every way. The only minor fault I have found is that the V-Moda's are slightly more uncomfortable than the Bose after a long listening session. These are the best sounding headphones I have ever owned. I compared them to every pair of headphones that Best Buy has on display for testing and these V's blew them all away! These headphones are in the Magnolia Collection area of Best Buy here in Lexington, KY and I am glad I walked into this room for the first time (I usually don't go in there because the Magnolia items are often somewhat expensive), but the 100's are worth every penny. Do yourself a favor and try them first, and you'll likely pick up a pair of these sweet headphones. By the way, I think they are also the most stylish headphones I have I have ever seen.

The V-Moda - Crossfade M-100's tend to have very positive reviews-- and with good reason. These headphones have very good bass, and the clarity of sound does not sound compromised at all. I say they're a very solid headphone overall, with the sounds of pop, hip-hop, and rock sounding best with it.

First off, I love the form factor of these. I really like how small the carrying case is. It makes it extremely easy to travel with on a plane. That being said, that is where my love ends. I knew that these were not noise cancelling but rather noise isolating. Being on a plane i expect to hear some noise, but there was a guy 3 rows back with a low monotone piercing voice...I heard him the entire 4 hour flight. It drove me nuts. I could clearly hear those around me. The sound quality...it sounded good, but nothing blew me away. I put my beats on and I hear nothing around me...i hear bass and highs...the Beats sound better to me. I am probably one of the few..judging by the reviews on here. So i had very high hopes. I read the reviews and saw the articles. Everyone says Beats are over hyped and they may be...but i prefer the sound of them compared to V-moda M100. I wanted to like these. I am going back to the Beats Studio Wireless.

I must have listened to 30 headphones and this unit has the most accurate sound that I've ever heard. Compared to $700 dollar headphones there was NO comparison. Running the headphones through an iphone6+ the volume was 1/2 to 3/4 up and never at full volume. The only complaint I have is since my ears are large I'm going to buy the XL pads for about $20 to get a little more comfort. I bought it at Best Buy for $268 on sale. I paid $400 for a high-end headphone around 1990 and the V-100 smokes it. It's all metal and really is hot !! A lot of the other headphones has a lot of plastic. TRY IT, I was impressed, I don't think you'll be sorry. -g

The V-moda Cross fade M-100s are the best headphones I have ever used, and I own 4 pairs of beats that don't scratch the surface of these headphones. The beats I own are the Mixr, Studio 2014 version, executives, and the Pros. The Pros are close to the M-100 but not as great. I am in love with these headphones! If you are thinking of Beats, think of these instead.

I am a music lover and never really liked in ear head phones ( Hurt my ears and fall off all the time). Decided to to get some decent set of over the ear headphones, initially did not do any research just went to the store and tried some headphones, listened for a couple of seconds ( Sony, Beats, Bose) and among these the Beats Mixr was my favorite, sounded so loud with a strong base, ignorantly purchased it. After 1 day of use my head felt liked it had been clamped and my eardrums started to hurt, I had to return it after just 1 week. After such a bad experience, took my time to review some headphones and among these I felt the V moda M 100 was the closest to what I wanted. My only concern was that they looked weird online and I was not really sure of the sound quality. decided to get them and really have no regrets. Sound is perfect for me,comfortable and the real thing looks great. No complains so far .

Don't waste anymore time. These M-100's are the best and anything else is just branding and marketing. Sound Quality, build, Design, warranty and over all luxury is all included. These are a 100K sports car kind of quality in a little box. Also comes with real headphone case. You either want true quality or you want to be like everyone else and join the heard of sheep.

These do cost $299 but these are a great pair of headphones. The sound quality is one of the best for the price if you like a more lively sound vs a more neutral sound. These are one of the most compact around ear headphones I have seen and love that they fold. These are very Stylish headphones and also kills Beats headphones in sound

These are my first expensive headphones. I've been using Klipsch S4's and got sick of in-ear headphones. These are built really well. They feel like they could cost what they do, and makes Beats look cheap. The white is pretty flashy. The bass is solid, and the sound is awesome. The customizable plates are cool. The fit isn't perfect for me, but everyone's head is different.

They were way better than I expected. The only problem is that if you want to hear them in there true potential, you have to play some music at a lower volume then gradually raise the volume.

I love these headphones! I've owned Beats, I had the Bose QC25, I even had the JBL Everest Elite 700s and these kill! The only way to get better headphones is to pay significantly more but I'm so happy with these I don't think I would even though I could justify the expense. I am a saxophonist and produce my own tracks so these come in handy for that. I can even chain them to my phone/laptop and also my synth so I don't wake my wife while making some tunes. What surprised me is how amazing they are for plane rides too due to the noise isolation. I even met someone on my shuttle ride to the resort who had the same headphones. We became instant friends for our short ride together and discussed how amazing they are for all genres. All in all, I love them! If you have doubts go listen at a local Best Buy in the Magnolia department. I listened to everything even B&W and these seemed to have better frequency response in all genres I tested. I suggest you do the same! You will be amazed!
