    Dirty Discs

I have to wipe the discs each time I do a backup. There was noticeable dirty and marks on the discs which I didn't discover until my backup software kept rejecting the discs either during backup or verifying. I do verification for all discs since there's a good chance if not verified the discs will be bad. It takes longer to verify, but worth it. I threw most of the 50 discs into the trash because the discs were bad or would not backup my data without errors. Right out of the sealed package the discs are dirty, have marks on them, and unusual scratches. I will never buy Verbatim again. I used to get another well-known brand, but it seems it is common to have dirty discs no matter what the brand. I also don't do generic brands. I prefer to backup to DVD's because I want something permanent. After my apartment was burglarized several times, my external drives were deleted or missing files. I don't find the Cloud reliable either. Electronic data is not the way to go as an only backup solution especially with all of the widespread data compromising going on lately. I burn to DVD's then put them into the bank deposit box. Better than the cloud because nobody can get to it except me.

    Not made by Verbatim

This product, manufacturer number 97175, is NOT original, real Verbatim manufacture DVD's. The original, genuine Verbatim product is manufactured by Mitsubishi which shows in the disc id as Manufacturer Name Mitsubishi Chemical Corp., Manufacturer ID "MCC". The "Verbatim" product number 97175 is actually manufactured by CMC Magnetics Corp. That is the same company that manufactures discs sold as TDK, Maxell and other brands. The original Verbatim discs were considered superior. There are just the same as the ordinary others.

I Have use Verbatim for several years. I get constant quality movie back ups and data storage. I am in the PC repair business and Web site design. Between saving clients data from recovered dead Computers to moving there family videos to Verbatim Or storing a complete Website design on Verbatim never fails and give a Happy client every time. Excellent product for backing up your PC before the OH NO MY PC CRASH -I DIDN'T BACK IT UP!!! to DVD's Great product to do this with , oh yes and the DVD Recovery Disk start up disk " have you made one yet" before that ON NO time Great product Verbatim .

This product is manufactured by CMC Magnetics Corporation, not by Verbatim. The six discs I burned from a 50-pack I bought recently at Best Buy exhibited P1 and P2 error rates measuring above the scale of my test software, resulting in discs with poor video quality and data retention. I would recommend this product for disposable projects only. On second thought, I would recommend some other, less expensive product than this one for disposable projects.

    Great Discs!

Yes, these are not made in the same factory as they used to be, however, CMC magnetics makes some good media. I've used hundreds of these newer ones, and I've found that the reliability is the same as before. Once in a while I get a bad disc. maybe 1 out of 2-3 hundred, that's less than 1% failure. Acceptable by any standard. Buy these when on sale! Paying regular price is crazy. ( Some people think they get bad discs with media due to having a burner that isn't compatble with the newer media. Update your firmware, or buy a newer burner, they're cheap now!)

Nothing can do the job of securely storing your pictures as well as optical discs. In hard drives they will lose quality as electrons migrate. Printouts with a ten year difference show how colors change. Theses discs work flawlessly and can keep files for a few hundred years. Get them before the market shifts all to the cloud, where you’ll be a renter of the space you use and discs like these are all relics. Make sure you have a reader you keep with them too. It could all be memories in 10 years.

I use these discs to make multiple copies of home videos. These discs perform well in the various DVD burners I have used them with, and that includes Apple's SuperDrive. They also perform well with the various burning software I have used. This translates (for me) to 100% product usage, with no bad discs being wasted. Additionally, I have used Printable DVD labels with these discs and there have been no performance issues with them at all. Everyone in the family that I gave these discs to report a good viewing experience too!

I ordered two 100-pack Verbatim blank DVD discs from a competitor. When they arrived damaged, one was so bad that I returned it immediately. The packaging on the other was not as damaged, so I started to use the discs. Bad decision: I had burning problems with 15 of the first 23 discs I used. I took that pack back for a refund. I stopped at Best Buy on the way home, bought a new 100-pack spindle and I never had a problem since!

I trust them and will go out of my way to find them. I hope this review will help others in there purchasing. When media means saving memories trust Verbatim

I liked these DVDs. So far, only 4 were defective. As a Photographer, I use them to save the pictures that I take at different events in my personal archive. I used to buy Memorex, but it seems they don't make those anymore, as they are hard to find, so I was looking for new DVDs that were about the same quality as the Memorex ones. So far, I'm satisfied with this product. Since Best Buy honors price match, I got a pretty good deal.

Item arrived within two days. Haven't had any problem recording on the +R. When purchasing a stack of DVDs, sometimes there are a few that are defective. I haven't had that problem with 20 of 50 already recorded on. I usually find some inconsistency with the product. Price point is good when on sale but the regular price is high. The stores never have enough in stock, and ordering through the store is time consuming,

These DVDs were actually not what I wanted. They do record and play back well. I asked the sales person for printable DVDs. He said that these are. I got them home, opened the package and found out that what he meant as "printable" was that one could write on them. I was looking for "Inkjet, printable DVDs", with the white surface on them. Guess that I should have been a little clearer.

Needed disks for a production I was doing. Couldn't find them at Staples. I found them at Best Buy and was happy. Only problem was I couldn't find them. Had to ask. Why? Because they weren't with the computer supplies---no, they were on the backside of the xbox game aisle. Who in their right mind would think of looking there. Will ask next time. Other than that, I had a great visit, as usual.

I purchased these at a good price at the store to use for DVD recording. The sound and picture quality is very good. Clear and crisp. I generally use this product to record directly from the TV or with my set up, I record on my DVR and then transfer from the DVR to this DVD. It works out very well. I used to use Memorex but not I am trying this brand and they are just as good. They hold 2 hours.

They work and I used price match and best buy bucks to get them to a reasonable cost between eighteen to twenty (which is what I could get them for at another retailer). Having to jump thru those hoops made me rate at lower level. I usually have maybe 1 or 2 out of 100 of these DVDs fail with this brand. So far none have failed in this batch.

I have used Verbatim cd's and dvd's in the past and found them to be of excellent quality. That it why I purchased these Verbatim DVD's. The Best Buy associate advised that DVD+R is the current standard going forward. Therefore, I purchased the Verbatim DVD+R's instead of the DVD-R's. I also had confirmed on line before going to the store that Verbatim was still top notch in quality.

Purchased product to store photos for family members. Unfortunately, out of the pack of 50, no more than five of the DVDs were defective. I am not sure if the product had issues or if my burner had issues. I would still recommend this product; I never had issues with any previous purchases.

In other experiences with Dvd+R's I have found so many of a 50 pk to be defective right off the top after opening them. I've used about 40 of these so far and not one bad one. For me that's the biggest plus! I'm going to stick with this brand. I would highly recommend them.

This is great for recordings for vacations, graduation, etc. I never had problems with using Verbatim blank DVD that’s why I kept buying this brand at Best Buy and its not that expensive. The other brands you get a lot of errors when you record..
