Battery failed

Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The unit is located in what Verizon support called a node, in the center of 4 cell towers. I added a directional antenna to improve the reception. Two weeks ago it quit working. I discovered the battery had swollen to about 3 times its original thickness and pushed the back off of the unit. Lucky it did not catch fire. We use this for internet access to our vacation home. It is constantly connected to the USB power from the WIFI router and the manual does say not to leave it connected to the power source for extended periods. Verizon said it has unlimited data, which they define as 15 GB. We discovered the limit after the first month that we exceeded it.

Don’t buy this product in rural areas

Verizon MIFI - JUST DON'T!

Just cancelled my MIFI service, what a WASTE OF MONEY! Bye Verizon, for this product and my cell service.
