It was very easy and intuitive to set up the bluetooth component. After some experimentation, we were also able to set the speed of a record to play it. The sound quality could be better, it was a little grainy for both the bluetooth and record sound, but overall she enjoys it immensely and we are happy with her gift.

Honest take is don’t buy this for 2 reasons: the rpm speed isn’t consistent, or may come incorrect. The 2nd is Best Buy’s customer service is genuinely really terrible. Victrola’s is superb, but this particular item isn’t well made- when Best Buy wouldn’t assist after the speed slowed literally 1 day after the 2 week policy following using it about 3 times, Victrola sent me a brand new one which was amazing. The issue is- even a new one played faster than it should have. So the takeaway: these are adorable but I don’t think at all worth the back and forth. And Best Buy does not care if it sells products that do not work past that 2 week window - I’m not kidding.

The built-in speakers are worse than your average laptop from 2003 and sound plays quietly from within the unit, out-of-sync with the actual speakers. The audio outs straight up do not work. I've tried many different cables, including my fancy ones from audio quest to no avail. The whole time, the unit plays the same quiet sound from within. I haven't tried the line-in nor the Bluetooth, but after the performance described above, I don't know why anyone would choose to use this to play music from. Just go get a $20 speaker from literally any brand to achieve the same result. As for playing vinyls, that works, but don't expect clarity of sound or to be immersed in what you're listening to. Even for this price point, I was shocked at how short this fell.
