Bought this as an open box item so my review is influenced by the cost.
The TV does what I wanted it to do, provide a better picture than my previous TV, a Samsung 30" HDTV TUBE television, in a much larger format. When watching sports there is some motion blur and I can see the LED panel lines in the field while watching soccer, occasionally I get light bleed from 2 small spots from the top edge of the picture, and the local dimming is not effective at best, but overall I'm OK with the TV CONSIDERING WHAT I PAID FOR IT. The smart features work well, there are plenty of HDMI ports in the back on the TV, and the bezel is thin enough to make it almost disappear.
At full price this is probably a 3 star review edging to two.

Great 4k for the price! Brought one home, set it up and found the programing on the WiFi card to be faulty. Vizio said three weeks for an appointment for the repair after they sent me jumping through hoops ( turn it off then on then sideways..ect)
Called the store and the Geek told me to bring it in. When I did ,the associate that sold me the TV met me at the door, carried the old one in, had the replacement already pulled from the warehouse and the paperwork ready. It took less time to exchange then it took to buy it in the first place! He then put the new TV in my car and apologized. It is rare to see this level of service in any setting , let alone big box stores.
TV works great and has a beautiful picture but the personal service made the TV worth twice the price

Let's Clear Some Things Up..
This is NOT a "Black Friday" T.V... The D-Series has a refresh rate of "120Hz" NOT "60Hz".. And when compared to the M-Series, Speakers are 5watts less.. There is no local dimming.. No Wi-Fi.. and contrast ratio is 4x higher on the M-Series.. if that's worth an extra $150.00 - $200.00 go for the M-Series.
But.. You'll be missing out on One Hellva T.V.. Those reviews that said the picture "Sucks" simply don't know how to adjust the unit.. Just change the picture mode to "Calibrate" and fine tune the color, dimming and contrast to your personal liking.. Done. The pic I've uploaded was a1080i resolution shot I took with just my cell phone sitting about 10 feet away and does not even begin to show the set's true clarity in person..
Great Price.. Great 4K Set.. Now it's sit back and wait for " 4K Content" to become main stream.. :-)

Was a Black Friday special with no previous reviews. I took a chance and am very pleased that I did. Setup was easy and after some setting adjustments I was highly pleased with the picture and it's quality. Great 4K TV for the price. I have not noticed any of the problems mentioned in some other reviews.

Every month or so I'd go into Best Buy's TV section and look at the deals to see if something was worth upgrading to. I had an Insignia that I had purchased as my main TV and I was not super happy with it. I knew I'd be happier with a new TV but even knowing that I've been blown away with the new Vizio. The picture was beautiful with just a little bit of adjustment. Sports, Bluray movies, and video games are crystal clear and crisp. I find myself paying more attention to what I'm watching and watching more movies than before and that's even after I've had it for a while it still makes me very happy. Set up was a breeze and the internet tv apps are quick and user friendly. Couldn't ask for more.

The picture is amazing. Extra HDMI ports (5 total) make it possible to effortlessly change from one device to another without the need of changing HDMI cables in today's multiple gadget world. I have a roku, Apple TV, BlueRay, Bose Soundbar and all have their own dedicated HDMI port.
It also has a dedicated ARC HDMI (Audio Return Channel) port to allow for better sound delivery and eliminate the need for a digital Optical cable.
Truly a great buy. Plus, is also a smart TV.

I read the reviews, debated about this TV after reading the "soap opera" effect. That is manageable, just don't turn sharpness to 100% when watching a 1080 p signal. Internet is superfast, very good price. I am happy about this TV and want to replace my 60" sharp with a new Vizeo 65 Inch. The applications are superfast and the setup is easy.

I had a Samsung 60 inch plasma go on me after 1 year and 2 months (that's right, just after factory warranty expired) so instead of paying the repair which was more expensive then the tv, I bought this. Amazing picture and the 4K viewing is amazing. Wish there was more 4K content but it's coming Not sure if they have this anymore because newer models came out , but if they do, buy it, trust me !!! Great price , beautiful picture !!

The tv is a great tv for the price and has plenty of hdmi ports. The only reason why it's not rated a 5 is just because it is a little bit thicker then some and the stand makes it difficult depending on what surface you may put it on. The stand is on the ends of each side and has an upside down v. I cent stand is usually the regular but still overall a great tv.

I was in Best Buy and came across this item on sale for $699, wanted a 4K and having Vizio before I didn't hesitate to purchase this television. I am glad I did, excellent picture quality, looks almost like 3D. Set up was easy, the remote is nice, would have been nice if they included the keyboard remote for typing. Still not regretting my purchase.

This was my first Smart TV. The picture was a little too dark in beginning. But after messing with the picture settings and switching it to Vibrant. The Picture Quality was fantastic. I didn't like that it didn't have a web browser. Had a bunch of cool Apps pre-installed. But not web browser. One of the main reasons I returned it.

This is the biggest TV I've ever had and it hasn't disappointed. I saw a lot of negative reviews before purchasing (issues with backlighting, low quality in general) and I have experienced no such problems. My picture when I play video games is great and it's the same when I watch new movies or sports. It was also fairly cheap (on Black Friday) given the prices of other 4K ultra TV's of similar size.

I am, along with my family, blown away with the picture from this TV. Settings require some minor tweaking, best picture comes from "Calibrated" picture mode. The UHD up-scaling is great on HDMI inputs 1-4, which until 4K UHD is more widely broadcasted, everyone will benefit from the upscaling. 4K picture is UNREAL almost as if you are seeing it better than in real life. For the price and size of the TV, you couldn't spend any wiser. Very happy with my VIZIO D55U-D1!! Just an FYI, as with most flat panel TV's the audio isn't as good as the audio a sound bar provides, I paired this TV with a VIZIO sound bar and turned off the TV speakers through the settings to get the best sound possible.

I bought this tv on Black Friday 2015 because it was on sale $250 off list price. It had everything I wanted in a flat screen 240hrz, 4K hdtv, smart led and bigger then my 50' I was replacing. I settled on the Vizio because my father has one and loved it. These tvs are not as expensive as the Samsung and LGs but they sure give them a good run for their money.

Good resolution and picture. I was not happy with the feet at the bottom. They did not fit on my TV stand. Feet need to be moved in.
