I have had over 8 TV's from 48.5 led to 65" led and two 4K TV's in the past year because I couldn't find one that exceeded my expectations on the motion blur and how clear the picture was and the 55" vizio ultra HD 4K TV is the best of the best for the price! Motion blur is not a problem and color/clearness is amazing I would recommend this TV to anyone that is looking for a great TV for the family!! I did purchase the 49" LG 4K , it only ran 60hz.. picture was amazing but the motion in TV and gaming is horrible and destroys the picture. So I paid the extra 150 to get the vizio and it's well worth the money by far, hope this review helps others on choosing the right tv

Never again will I purchase a Vizio TV. After barely over a year the sound does not work. Seriously, one year? We have in the past had good luck with Vizio so that is why we purchased another. NEVER AGAIN.

Love this TV. Got it on Black Friday and the picture is fantastic. Looks much better than my 7 year old Plasma. Great for video games and watching sports. Only cons for me would be not being able to swivel the TV since it has legs and I do wish the remote had the QWERTY keyboard that the M series has. It would make searching Netfix and other apps much easier. Can't beat the price. TV looks great, no problems yet!

I bought this TV on Saturday and it was my first 4K Television. Vizio has been a reliable product for me but this TV is amazing. Apps are fast running, refresh rate is great compare to other TVs, it has auto brightness so it adjusts on its own or you can disable it, It has 5 HDMI inputs!! I have had no issues with it and I went in blind with this TV since it's one of the newest model so no reviews to go off. Overall great product at half the cost.

Picture quality is near perfect! The hook up is easy and fast. Within minutes I was downloading 4k video via wifi and in awe of the gorgeous picture quality of 4k video. I suggest some of the "Slo Mo Guys" videos, it truly shows how excellent the quality and refresh rate is.

Bought this on Black Friday - took it home hooked it up and it was black screen. Wouldn't work at all, not even turn on. We returned it to Best Buy for a full refund and got an LG. We have been told since typically the Black Friday specials even if great brands of tvs are lower quality? In this case it was.

SCREEN NON RESPONSIVE AFTER ONE WEEK

I knew this wasn't top of the line, but I have seen other Vizio products and thought they looked / sounded nice. Originally I did have to play around with screen settings to get the picture looking how I wanted and they do have a judder setting to help with motion blur. before the tv stopped working I was thinking of 3 stars, mostly because you dont get much to work with the dark settings and it can be very annoying. For best settings I put it on calibrate and turned low light OFF all the way. One thing customers need to realize is no 4K tv is going to show in 4K for most things you watch. Simply because the tv's are ahead of their time and the programming isn't there yet. But of course, anything you watch in HD, 3D, and if you have netflix with a streaming plan that allows you to stream in 4K then you will greatly benefit from those situations. Before this TV decided to stop working I did also get a chance to watch it in all modes mentioned above and the screen, with my tweaked settings looked good. Speaking of the settings something seemed strange in that I had to go back SEVERAL times to change my settings as for some strange reason they kept defaulting to standard mode, low light ... even though I kept changing it and saving my changes. Unfortunately - yesterday I noticed a clicking sound in the TV - just a few times. Didn't know what that was, still don't. And today I heard the sound again. Worst of all, I turned the TV off, and noticed it sort of still looked like it was on. The screen was off but you could clearly see lights on behind the screen. At first I thought it was just cooling down but those lights never went off. I hit the power button again and the TV went off. A few minutes later I tried to turn it on, the lights behind the screen came on, the screen stayed off. I kept hitting the power button and nothing changed. Lights behind screen just stayed on, tv never turned fully on nor fully off. I unplugged it and will be taking it back tomorrow. I will be be replacing it with a totally different TV as soon as I can make a decision on what I want. Will probably go with LG, samsung, or Sony, brands that have never let me down, TVs I still have working like new older than my children. SO I'm definitely not dealing with this. Maybe I got a lemon, but I don't want to be stuck with another one a year from now, right out of warranty and out of 700.

I had purchased the LG 55inch 4k and that "recommended" tv lasted all of two months! I had to take it back. Well when I bought this one $500 less than the LG that was supposed to be so great... I am so happy with my purchase! Easy to use and set up. MUCH BETTER PICTURE! I am very happy with this purchase

I was on the fence about upgrading to 4K, but I saw the price on this TV and took a chance. So glad I did! My previous TV was a Vizio, so I knew my next TV was going to be a Vizio also. Like others have said, to get the optimum picture, you do need to tweak the settings. Once you do, the picture is beautiful. You will be blown away by true 4K. The smart apps work super easy. I know you can spend more money on a 4K TV, but for my dollar, you won't do any better than this TV here.

Great TV! Thus is my first vizio tv! I was skeptical to buy anything other then Sony or Samsung but I'm glad I did! The picture takes a little adjusting to get just right but its clear and the colors are great! I have no issues with the tv at all! Its better then my sony 46" that has all the high end specs.I have been using it with the 3.1 soundbar and irs a great combo! Would highly recommend to anyone not wanting to spend an arm and a leg on a tv!

This is my 3rd Vizio and all 3 are great. This tv has an impeccable picture right out of the box. The smart feature works incredibly well. particularly on a relative to other tv basis. i just bought a Samsung 50 inch smart tv for our bedroom. Even after setting the picture to the values advised by the salesperson, the samsung is terrible by comparison and does not have the crisp pictures of my Vizios and this 55 smart ultra tv in particular. The internet apps work very fast on my Vizio but not so for my Samsung. The only reason I bought a 50 inch Samsung over a 50 inch Vizio was I needed a center stand to place the tv a bit sideways on a chest of drawers, but wow do I wish I could have bought another Vizio. I realize that Vizo is cheaper than a comparable Samsung but at any price I would buy a Vizo. Great great tv or atleast mine have been stellar.

    A Black Friday only junker

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $100 for the Vizio M series over this thing. This D series was only made, cheaply, for Black Friday and won't be continued after. The one I purchased had the back light bleeding through at certain spots around the edges which was very annoying on dark scenes. The entire bottom right corner of the screen was noticeably faded in light and color. I quickly returned this and upgraded to the M series which is a real quality product that wasn't rushed together on the cheap just for Black Friday! Check any review of the M series on the internet and you will see you can't go wrong with it and is a great value for the money. The 55" I got is normally $1000 but was on sale during Black Friday for $800. The extra $100 spent on it over this junker was well worth the money!

Not a 120hz TV. Unhappy Customer

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this TV on Black Friday on the recommendation of the sales associate who assured me this was a 120hz TV. I was looking at the LG at this price point and chose the Vizio after my conversation with him. Since I was upgrading from a plasma I had never encountered blur issues and didn't want to start now so a 120hz panel was important. Again I was assured this was a 120hz panel compared to the "fake" marketing on some other TV's Took the TV home hooked it up, adjusted all the setting and was noticing a lot of motion blur and judder during fast or very slow scenes. Resolution is good, colors are decent but the blur and judder and very distraction comming from having a plasma for years. I thought this was an issue with the content so I did the same test on my PS4, blu Ray and even tested the 4K content streamed through the apps. Unhappy with the Blur and Judder I contacted Vizio Via email to inquire about the true refresh rate. A day later I received a email from Vizio Techinal support advising me this TV is a 60hz panel but had a effective refresh rate of 120 using a combination of backlighting. Knowing now that I wasn't going to be able to fix the blur I returned the TV to Beat Buy. Here is where things get worse! When I arrived at customer service I put through an interigation about why I was returning the TV. When I told the first service person I was returning it because i was misled into believing it was a 120hz panel he looked at the box, looked at me like I was an alien and told me it "it is 120". I then told him I had confirmed through the manufacturer it was a 60hz. Then another service person comes up tells me the same thing, turns around looks online and in a condescending manner told me "it is. Says it right here it's 120hz effective rate so it is 120". After repeating to him what I was told by the manufacuter I offered to forward him the email from Vizio which he declined. Further while doing their inspection of he box and TV I had forgot to put the Manual and 4 little 5c screws for the legs back in the box. The customer service guy then proceeds to tell me that hey will charge me a missing accessory few if I don't have the screws. Figuring it would cost me more in gas than to pay for a few screws I asked him much the replacement fee for the screws would be. They tell me 40 bucks! For 4 tiny screws! Refusing to pay that for 4 screws I drove back home, spent more for gas than the cost of the actual screws to retrieve them and returned the manual. When I bought this tv I wasn't looking for a budget 4K I was replacing a TV that was working fine because I thought I was getting a deal. When I returned the TV I was actually going to spend markedly more to get what I wanted. I had such a bad experience with Best Buy that I chose not to spend my money there

Easy setup. After turning the set on after initial setup, the screen suddenly went dark and was nonresponsive. I thought I may have gotten a bad set. A few minutes later a message was displayed stating that the firmware update was complete. Normal operation returned. The initial picture from the factory was too dark for my liking but there are several picture choices depending on intended use (e.g. games, computer, etc). I changed the picture from "standard" to "vibrant" and the picture is now perfect.
