Yanni CD "VOICES" is wonderful. Would like to get a replacement for the BONUS CD (fair rating) because of this situation.

I will start by saying I have had no previous expereince with Yanni's music, I've always known him as some new Age instrumental guy, but never really followed him. So, this CD was really a happy surprise. I liked knowing that the artists were asked to write their own lyrics to Yanni's instrumentals, a nice collaberative effort. Right off, the first track Omaggio grabbed my attention because it was so uplifting. Nathan Pacheco's voice really blends well with the instrumentals. I also liked the 2nd track with Leslie Mills, The Keeper. It's really upbeat and snappy and kept my attention. I found Chloe's song Set Me Free to be a nice ballad that was both relaxing and a bit haunting. It is definitely on of the more contemporary songs on the CD. While I love Ender Thomas' voice, I was sad that both of his songs were sung in Spanish. I would have like to hear him sing something more contemporary in English. All in all the Cd is a nice, relaxed listen that I would enjoy in an adult setting, like at a casual dinner party or as background music in a nice restaurant. There was a point halfway through when I thought the songs kind of started to sound the same, but I will definitely keep this CD around for moments when I need to bring the stress level down.

Relaxing and Calming Vocals!

The CD. “Yanni Voices”, has four talented young singers: Leslie Mills, Chloe, Ender Thomas, and Nathan Pacheco. They are awesome and their voices are clear and pure. They make perfect complement to Yanni's distinctive instrumentals. Grammy-winning producer Ric Wake put together an arrangement of young talent who teamed with Yanni perform awesome music together. The music was very calming & relaxing and had plenty of upbeat moments. Yanni never seemed to care if anyone reinterpret his music vocals, until this album “Yanni Voices”. The DVD was fun to watch and complimented the CD by giving the background story. I've always been a fan of Yanni's new age music and this CD takes it to a different level. My favorite singer on this recording is Nathan Pacheco with songs like, the breathtaking beautiful "Unico Amore" and "Amare Di Nuovo". A couple of my favorite songs are, "Kill Me With Your Love" by Chloe and “The keeper” by Leslie Mills. This CD has an eclectic style to it and containing anywhere from Spanish love songs to songs with a pop sound. This is a nice relaxing combination of vocals and instrumentals that I recommend whole heartily. The CD/DVD combo makes this album a great value.

Yanni + Voices = Good music!

Back in the 90's, my very 1st boyfriend introduced me to the world of Yanni. I thought he was weird at first, considering he was a punk rock kind of guy and didn't expect that he would ever like music like Yanni's. But surprisingly enough, I fell in love with Yanni's music.
I like the mixture of vocals with Yanni's orchestration, as it mixes the two worlds of the young and the old. (Not that I'm saying that symphonic music is only meant only for the old!) The melodies are wonderful and incredibly relaxing. The voices of these young artists definitely work well with the beautiful instrumental music.
I like "Set me Free", sounds like something you would hear on mainstream radio (similar to Dido's music). "Before the Night Ends", "The Keeper", "Never Leave the Sun" and "Kill me With your Love" are really good songs too. I can see "Our Days" being picked for a soundtrack for a movie, maybe the upcoming "New Moon" movie from the Twilight series?? "1001" and "Moments Without Time" are classic Yanni songs that will relax you and helps create a serene environment. All the other songs are alright, not really my kind of music, but a great mix of different types of music overall.

A Pleasant Surprise

Never having listened to Yanni's music, I wasn't sure what to expect from Yanni Voices, a collaboration between the veteran instrumentalist and four young vocalists. Adjectives I would use to describe the songs include soaring, passionate, energetic, and rich. Nathan, Chloe, Ender, and Leslie are not only amazing vocalists, they also wrote the lyrics to the songs they sing.
I have enjoyed this CD and listen to it a lot while working on the computer or in the car. It has a unique sound and the different songs and vocalists compliment each other well.
The biggest surprise has been my kids' reaction to the music. I watched part of the PBS concert the night it premiered and set it to record. Even when I was listening from the next room, my kids were still watching and dancing. They loved it! The next night they played the concert again and staged a show of their own. We all have our personal favorites, which interestingly enough include each of the singers. When we get into the car, my kids ask to play the CD.

Yanni--Your Everyday Calming Influence

I wouldn't call myself a "hard-core" Yanni fan, but there have been times in my life that I have truly NEEDED Yanni music...
1. In college...great background study music
2. While in labor with my two children
3. When I need a "calming" influence amidst the chaos of motherhood.
Yanni Voices fits the bill when I need calming music. I wouldn't call it my FAVORITE CD, but it is impressive none-the-less.
I really did enjoy hearing lyrics to some of the Yanni classics. Instead of singing along with a "dah, dah, dah, dah, dah," I can actually sing the words. My favorite sing-a-long is "Before The Night Ends." The voices are beautiful. Some of the latin songs have a Josh Groban feel.
Overall, I'd say that if you are a fan of Yanni's previous work, this album is a must buy!
If you're not a hard-core fan, it's still a great album to have for those moments when you need something beautiful, soothing, calming, and even thought provoking. Yay for Yanni!

I received a copy of Yanni Voices today, and although I am not a Yanni regular, I did find the music captivating. As a mother of two, and yoga teacher I am always looking for new music to incorporate into life and work.
While this CD may contain a reworking of Yanni instrumentals, it was the luxuriant, rich voices that really stuck out.
I call this a mini eclectic mix because there are three different sounds notable on the CD, a Middle Eastern & Asian sound in songs like Our Days, that would work well for a yoga flow class, rich Spanish lyrics in tracks such as Mas Alla, and an adult, or mature pop style in tracks like The Keeper.
If you like Vanessa Carlton, Enrique Igelsias, Sarah Brightman and Pavarotti, you may like this CD. I know this is one I can safely pop in the car without worry in front of my kids and mother, but also enjoy!

SOARING VOICES

Yanni has had an amazing career so far and now he teams up with Grammy-winning producer, Ric Wake, to showcase four new vocalists who contributed to writing the songs on this cd. They were encouraged to write for the songs that moved them most. And, for me, that would be all of them as I enjoyed this cd from start to finish.
The four talented vocalists are Nathan Pacheco, Ender Thomas, Leslie Mills and Chloe and they blend seamlessly with Yanni's compositions.
I especially love "Omaggio", "Amare di Nuovo", "Orchid" and the Indian accented "Our Days". I love the mix of Spanish, Italian and English.
This cd with its bonus dvd is calm and peaceful yet alive with feeling. It is reflective and meditative. It connects me to a deeper place within.
There is enough variation to enjoy here but overall there is a mood created.
It is reminiscent of Andrea Bocelli with hints of Enya.
When I listen, I feel I am on the back porch gazing out at a limitless blue sky. There is a Japanese garden where koi are swimming and the I'm sipping some Earl Grey tea. The moment is now and everything feels right with the world. Bravo artists!
The Yanni voices world tour began April 10, so if you like this music, head out and experience it live!

Yanni Voices Sings to the Soul!!

If you have never experienced Yannis’ music because you thought it was too New Age or Classical for your liking, then this is the CD for you. From classic Yanni melodies to up to date pop sounds Yanni Voices has it all!! Nathan Pacheco gives feeling to every note he sings. One not needs to be able to understand the words in Omaggio to know that it is a song with great emotion. The musical accompaniment and back ground vocals is so truly Yanni. The Keeper, with vocals by Leslie Mills, could very well be played on mainstream radio and be welcomed with open arms. The piano and Spanish guitar gives the song a bit of Yanni and only he can give! Set Me Free, as song by Chloe is another such song. Unmistakably Yanni, yet very much ready to take the pop airwaves by storm. Also featured on Yanni Voices is Ender Thomas. His voice is passionate and communicates each note of every word straight to your soul. Ritual De Amor (Desire) makes me want to stand up and dance with it heavy hints of sensuality!! Couple the CD with the behind the scenes DVD and all in all I find Yanni Voices to be one of Yanni greatest undertakings!!

Though I am not a huge Yanni fan I thought I would give his music a chance and when I had the chance to review the CD I took it!
I've been exposed to Yanni's instrumental music in the past and I must be honest when I say that I personally did not care for it too much. I think I'm more of a lyrics girl as opposed to just the music, but this CD delivered on all fronts and was a great surprise to me! Yanni's beautiful music was the perfect backdrop to the amazing voices of all four of the featured vocalists, but II enjoyed Ender Thomas and Leslie Mills the most! I think the idea of putting these amazing voices with such an amazing musician was spot on!
i would recommend this CD to everyone no matter what their musical tastes were!

WOW! I love this cd! When I first saw the Yanni Voices special on PBS, I was blown away! Besides his music, he has 4 singers in his group now-hence the name Voices in the title. It adds so much to his music. These singers are some of the best I have ever heard, especially Chloe. If any of them competed in American Idol, they would blow away the competition and win hands down! Ender is one of two men singing on the cd. He has a passionate & beautifully exotic voice, and extremely good looking! Chloe is one of two women singing on the cd. She sounds just like the singer who sings on the little mermaid song, & has a very powerful voice. Leslie has a mellower & lighter sound, while Nathan is a classically trained tenor, and his voice really adds to the music! Four different voices that go well with each other! My favorite song is Mi Todo EresTu-Until the last Moment. Ender & Chloe sing this together, and it is so beautiful! Along with the cd is a dvd. It is the only part I was disappointed with. It has some singing on it along with a lot of talking. I was hoping for the PBS special on the DVD!

Another Win for Yanni

Yanni and producer Ric Wake have outdone themselves once again. After two years of hard work, and four of the most new and talented young voices in music today, Yanni is debuting another fantastic album, "Voices". Yanni's new CD features the extraordinary voices of four up and coming young singers; Nathan Pacheco, Chloe, Ender Thomas and Leslie Mills. They sing some of Yanni's classics as well as debuting some of their own new music!
I grew up listening to Yanni and was very excited when he had a new CD coming out. While it is definitely not like his past work, it does have a lot of more upbeat and powerful songs. My favorite vocalist on the album is Leslie Mills, especially her song 'The Keeper'. I fell in love with it the very first time I listened to it. In fact, I hit replay just so I could hear it again! her other song, 'Before the Night Ends' is also truly amazing.
If you are looking for traditional Yanni I suggest listening to 'Our Days', 'Orchid' or 'Moments Without Time'. All are beautifully orchestrated and reminiscent of the Yanni of years gone by.

Something different from Yanni

I actually wish this had been released as a box set, with more songs, having each disk exclusively containing one of the singers. I'm a little iffy on having an opera song, followed by one of Yanni's instrumental songs, followed by a song that's a little more well, pop-y. It almost breaks the flow of the album. It fit together better in the PBS special than in the CD.
However, both Nathan Pacheco and Ender Thomas's voices are amazing, and perfect for adding to a quiet evening's playlist. The music, as always with Yanni's work, is just beautiful. If you're a Yanni fan, I don't feel you will be disappointed. If you're new to listening to Yanni's music, this CD is a great way to be introduced to him.

Beautiful Music, but a Bit too much Variety

With the release of Yanni Voices, I have been reintroduced to an artist I only knew of vaguely, but also introduced to four intriguing artists who joined Yanni in this album.
The album has many songs that are new favorites on my Zune. No, not all of the songs will be my favorites, but I recognize the high quality of both the music and the voice in every track.
This album has such musical variety to it -- there is a strong male ballad, for example, followed by a soft, female pop song. Although I love many types of music, if I'm in a somber mood for a ballad, I do not want to next be jumping up and dancing to a pop song. And vice versa. For this reason, I would have preferred that the four new singers be introduced separately - perhaps in a four-CD set? - so that I could listen to each artist's music separately.
This little preference is easily remedied by downloading the CD onto my computer and separating the tracks into playlists, so I still give the Yanni Voices project 5 stars and a high recommendation.

Great Music, Great Vocals

Yanni who? I had only a brief knowledge of Yanni before getting a sneak peak back in February of the new PBS Special Yanni Voices. Since I wasn't a huge fan before, I don't have anything to compare it to. However, I find this CD relaxing and the vocalists very talented.
This is the first time ever Yanni music is being heard with vocals on this recently released CD Yanni Voices. This is not my normal type of music but it is very soothing and enjoyable to listen to.
The calming affect was put to the test one evening when I was having a very bad night with my two youngest children. I had picked them up from daycare and they were both crying and thrashing about. I thought I was going to lose it - whining kids. I had Yanni Voices in my CD player and decided to play it full blast. Within 30 seconds quiet. Both children had their fingers in their mouth and there was no more whining. I don't know if it was a coincide but it appeared to work for them. For this alone, the CD will stay in my player in my van.

I wasn't sure at first if I would enjoy this album, but the soaring voice of Pacheco and the soothing music of Mills quickly won me over. If you're a fan of Josh Groban or Pacheco's songs such as Unico Amore and Nei Tuoi Occhi on this album will quickly become new favorites.
This is not my first Yanni album and most certainly won't be the last. I absolutely love it! The music selection is incredible, the range fantastic, the voices great (Chloe's is my favorite!), and the lyrics the perfect addition to this selection. Ommagio is by far my favorite song here, as well as Vivi il tuo sogno. I am looking forward now to learn more about Yanni and hear some of his earlier stuff.
If you are the type of person where music can move you, this is what will happen when you listen to Yanni Voices. The first song and I was hooked. One song literally moved me to tears because it was so beautiful.
The album is both relaxing and uplifting! - Voices is great! Definitely a MUST BUY

Yanni adds Voices to his music

In this cd, Yanni teams up with four young vocalists -- think of voices as pure as Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban or Sarah Brightman -- and I think the result will usher in a whole new crop of Yanni fans. I especially love Nathan Pacheco's songs (Omaggio is my favorite); these songs are the perfect way for today's kids to ease into classical music. I'm less enthusiastic about the English songs for some reason, they seem too bland for me, but the italian and latin songs are wonderful to listen to. Interspersed with the vocals is Yanni's distinctive instrumental sound, so diehard Yanni fans will also find something to like. Overall, a good cd to have.

I was lucky enough to get to review the Yanni Voices CD as part of the One2One network! I heard some clips online already and new the music was going to be beautiful. As previously mentioned I love pretty much all music. There is little I don't like. I am particularly attracted to the words in songs so I was excited for the Yanni Voices CD to come out!
I definitely had some favorites and don't want to spoil it for anyone but I will share this with you -Leslie Mills has a beautiful voice and this song...I REALLY really like the song The Keeper! Google it - it is great!
For the first time in five years, Yanni is returning to the stage to launch a world tour!! featuring 50+stops throughout the US including Orlando, Atlanta, Philadelphia, New York City, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Dallas, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and more!!

I have to admit that I wasn't sure what I would think of this album. Some of Yanni's songs are a little boring to me. However, I really love the idea of letting young artists write their own lyrics to some of Yanni's instrumental songs. The neat thing is that you end up with an album in which the songs greatly differ in styles. Some are more softer, some are more up beat, some are in Spanish, some Italian, and some English too. I think it's a great mix, and young people and older people will both enjoy it!

When I first saw it I was skeptical. It was for Yanni. Yes I listen to all kinds of music and I grew up with instrumentals from my ballet days but Yanni? He was not something I listened to regularly. When I first read the premise behind the album I was intrigued. He was reinterpreting his old music and putting words to it. The fact that he was attempting this impressed me right there. From the moment the CD started I was surprised. You could actually feel what he was trying to get across through the music. And it only got better from there. The more I listened the more impressed I was. The singers he chose seemed to fit what he wanted to portray beautifully. I would definitely recommend this as something you should pick up.
