Slipknot has been classified into several Metal genres. In my opinion, Slipknot is Metal, pure and simple. Yet, the Metal that Slipknot provides has a diverse mixture of sounds, noise, special effects and yes, the trademark heavy riffs, leads, breakdowns, blast beats, shrieks, screams and growls. What makes Slipknot " Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)" so special is the creative way the music is packaged together, the totality of the musical structure, complimented by the skillful musicianship of the band and enhanced to a level of extremity by the vocals of Corey Taylor. What Slipknot brings to the Metal table here is not vintage or Classic Metal from days long passed, this is Metal that reflects a new school of thought, Metal for the new millennium. Every song on this CD achieves it's well deserved existence, making for what I consider one of the greatest Metal albums I have ever listened to. Joey Jordison on drums is the real thing, Mick Thomson and James Root are both absolutely incredible on guitar. As a whole, Slipknot leaves no Metal ground or heavy universe unchartered with "3: (The Subliminal Verses"). Slipknot is a Metal band that takes musical chances and wins. I highly recommend this album to anyone who wants to be knocked over by amazingly creative, super powerful Metal, that no other band can duplicate. The liner notes are done extremely well, with 20 full color pages of complete lyrics, credits, expanded artwork, 3 group photos and individual band member photos that are enhanced with abstract artistic effects. A superior job, these liner notes.

This album is very very good. I actually bought this album more for the tracks Duality, Vermillion, Pulse of the Maggots, and Before I Forget. But, after listening to all of the tracks, my favorite is probably track 1, which is Prelude 3.0. Any Slipknot fan should already own this. If they don't, then they should buy it immediately. Any music fan wanting to give Slipknot a try should begin with this album first. Great CD!

this is slipknot at their best even tho this album didnt sell very well and it didnt do soo well on the charts this album is full of great songs great lyics slipknot knows how to keep their fans happy slipknot will always remain the best of the best slipknot is and always will be the best of the best

this cd is awesome from begining to end slipknot truly are one very talented metal band this cd rocks from begining to end the solos are insane and sick this whole band rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This album is insane with powerful lyrics "I push my fingers into my eyes", some of the fastest drums you'll ever hear, and a crunching, addictive guitar sound. Great album...although I'm only a big fan of a few of the songs.
