Can't beat this RC for the $$. Redcat Racing is the best

THis little truck lies somewhere between a toy and a hobby RC. Surprisingly fast for its size, and the all wheel drive is nearly unstoppable. Goes very well through rough uneven surfaces and even heavy thick grass in the yard it plows right through. Other online places out there offer replacement and upgrade parts if/ when you break something from crashing. Run time is pretty impressive also. 4 stars for the charger mostly is not a fast charger takes about 2-2 1/2 hrs to charge. Just buy a second battery battery they are cheap enough and by the time you go through 2 fully charged batteries you'll be ready to go inside anyway. Not for little kids! maybe 10+ or older at least to be able to control it really and enjoy it. Put a smile on this adult kids face for sure without breaking the bank. I'm trying to talk one of my buddies into buying one so we can race each other around the yard and driveway.

got this truck after seeing it at my local best buy and doing a little bit of research on it. It had mostly positive reviews so I decided to jump on it as it was not super expensive and I was looking into a new hobby. I had never owned an rc vehicle before and after looking into buying the fast and furious monster truck charger decided that the cost increase was worth it. I've had it for a little bit now and getting other rc's and becoming a little more versed on what hobby grade rcs are and what toy rcs are. I have come up with this rating. It is an awesome little truck and is a lot of fun. The battery lasts quite a bit for what I was expecting and the driving I did. It lasted about 45 minutes. The driving is solid, great acceleration and the handling is responsive but it tends to flip over easily. That is my only con on the vehicle itself. The other problem is getting parts. None of my local hobby shops carry parts, so if anything breaks its going to be online ordering only. Unfortunately Best Buy only sells the cars. So if you're looking to get into the hobby you could do worse. If you're looking for a toy for the kids I would suggest getting a toy that's half the price. It is fast and I wouldn't recommend indoor play unless you want something broken. Also I would recommend a second battery that you can find on other major online retailers namely the one named after the largest river in South America. I would get this over the larger volcano also sold at best buy.

Very fast and nimble. This also creates some issues. I had to replace this item 2 times due to defects, but I'm happy to report the 3rd is running as strong as ever. The first time the outdrive cups broke. Second was a shock. I replaced the cups, the driveshafts, the shocks and the steering servo for $65. Pros- Very fast. Handles well. Looks good. Radio is pretty decent. Decent run time. Cons- Shocks need to be filled with oil. There is hardly any in there at purchase. They leak, so I upgraded them. Outdrive cups are weak and broke in the rear. Replaced them and the driveshafts. Battery stopped taking a charge after 3 uses. Tossed and bought 2 2s lipos. It gets very hot, even with the stock battery. I do not notice that it's hotter with the lipo's as the li-ion it came with is 2s as well. Even with the few minor flaws, I would definitely recommend this if you want a fast and fun Mini RC truck. It's a blast.

I've had plenty of RC cars, boats, and planes. Got this one because I had gift cards to use and nothing really on my "wish list". I figured (just for fun) I'd get this Redcat RC. Comes truly RTR (didn't even have to bind the ESC). Plenty quick enough for it's 1/18th size and is very stable at speed (around 25mph). Only reason no 5 stars is that some of the components are plastic and will break more than likely, however, Redcat offers upgrade parts for the more enthusiastic. But don't let this scare you, apart from running it into a tree or not landing a big jump on all fours, this RC should hold up well and with proper maintenance last a good while. 4-wheel drive, oil filled shocks, 7.4V 800 mah Li-Ion, true 2.4GHz Digital speed control and steering, waterproof electronics, and all this for less than $100... Easily a good purchase. I'm 36, have 4 kids, 2 houses, a live-in mother-in-law, a dog, and another baby on the way (yay!!!-seriously, I LOVE MY FAMILY), so just saying, I'm not just some slacker with nothing going on his life and felt like writing a review (usually don't), but this one had to be done because of the smile it put on my face, and I already have a lot to smile about. Let me start by saying this is a neat little RC truck. It is fairly fast; probably too fast for younger children. However, it is not a very stout vehicle. About five minutes into driving it, the steering servo failed. I had some servos and was able to replace / upgrade the faulty part. For not much more money, you could purchase a true hobby grade RC vehicle. This is a nice toy, but I cannot recommend it.

RC models of this caliber costs twice as much, so to get AWD running gear that's good for short runs on top of rough terrain, nothing beats this. The upgrade package on the entire setup @ $120+ is a bit steep, but if you're looking for more reliability from all of the moving parts, it's still cheaper than equivalent models that are in the $300+ range. Downside is battery, lots of short fast runs do wear the rechargeable battery down fairly quickly, so an optional high-capacity unit would be a welcomed upgrade from the company.

There's an old saying that if you aren't breaking things you aren't going fast enough... that is very much the case for this truck. First time it broke was my fault, landed a jump wrong on pavement and broke a front suspension piece. Since it is very nearly "hobby grade", replacement/upgrade parts are easily available on ebay. So i fixed the suspension, and the very next time i ran it the steering servo crapped out. I'll now be either returning it (I'm still within 30 days) or else cashing in my GSP if the store gives me a hard time about returning it without the box.

Got this for my son's birthday he's had a blast with it four-wheel drive super fast very lightweight. The only issue that I have come across with it is that when the motor overheats it does slow down and acts like it has a dead battery but once it cools off it's ready to go again I did contact the manufacturer and that is a safety feature to keep from tearing it up. With that in mind it's functioning as designed and I would recommend

I bought this r/c truck mainly so i can use it for my husky to chase around the backyard. It's super fast, and handles dirt and grass perfectly. Husky enjoys chasing it, and I have a great time playing with it as well.

I love this thing, its so much fun! I've broken it quite a few times but you can upgrade all the parts to aluminum and its fun to work on.

This is four wheel drive and real fast. It is a blast for all ages. I was disappointed it isn’t larger.

Awesome remote for the price. Very fast and fun for my experienced remote loving teen. We have a couple of smaller red cats that work well and this one was a blast to race in the light snow with the 4wd and active suspension.

It's really a steal of a deal at $100. It's super fast and super fun. But me being a teen I had to go extreme with it so I managed to break it in about a week so it's definitely not super durable but as long as you aren't jumping it on 10ft ramp it should be fine. All in all it makes a great present or gift really for people of any ages.

This RC is the real deal, just like the one in the hobby store!! It's super fast & so much fun!! I'm glad I bought this from Best Buy. It's the same truck as you would pay twice as much for from a hobby store.

Very low quality product. Purchased 4 of these and broke all three of them in different spots on first day. I was not using these cars out of normal use and certainly not over using them. Very low quality product, even though it looks super cool and would be super fun if the quality would hold up. I am surprised Best Buy sells this low quality of a product. Front wheel broke off, rear wheel broke off, shock with oil broke in half......each and every one I bought on the first day, and sometimes within minutes of playing. Do not even consider this car. Other reviews that are positive......perhaps they used it in their garage on level smooth concrete or a floor inside and not on carpeting, nor asphalt. The car is very small and at higher speeds it bounces around adding a lot of stress on the parts. Surprisingly, the manufacturer shows the car running through all types of terrain, yet when you talk to the company, they suggest only using on dirt or concrete and not grass or rocky terrain at high speeds. I was left very disappointed in this product and Red Cat Racing, such much so, that I will not consider purchasing another product from them.

These are pretty good. They will break so do yourself a favor and get the 2yr replacement plan! Very fun and reminds me of my old Tyco when I was young..that Tyco never broke though...

I initially got the 1:10 scale model car and it was overpowering for my 8 year old. This scaled down r/c is perfect! For the $$$ paid this R/C is definitely worth the money.
