The Wacom Intuos Art Tablet is a very smart choice. I purchased mine for an animation class to use with Photoshop and don't regret it. It was easy to install and comes with a lot of free software and bonus deals packaged in. I found the Corel Paint program that comes with it to be more to my liking than Photoshop for drawing sketches. I would definitely recommend this to somebody looking to draw on their computer.

My 10-year old daughter wanted to try this tablet because she used on like it at a Makerspace in a library. She was so impressed with how realistic her drawings looked that we found it for her at Best Buy. She uses this tablet now for all of her drawings and animation projects. Before she only used sketchbooks. It was very easy to use and can be used with many software programs.

This device was a present for my daughter, she is good at drawing with pencils and markers but she was attracted to drawvin the computer. The Intous was perfect for her. At the beginning she was frustated but when she got the practice, she started drawing pretty well! I would recommended this for artist that want to start drawing electronically. Of couse you need a drawing software in your computer!

Pros: Easy to set up and use. It was easy to download the free software that came with the tablet. Easy to change the settings for the tablet and pen with no problem.
As a very skilled traditional artist it is rough to get used to pencil to digital but you get the hang of it easily.
Cons: Not so easy to register with Wacom as the link provided wouldn't allow me to sign into to my account. I had to use a completely different link in order to register my product with Wacom, I had to search around on Youtube for that link as the website was useless when finding the proper passages for registering a product.
I had to restart Corel Painter and the tablet over and over in order to get the perfect settings for the tablet buttons. Even then half of them, along with the pen buttons, don't even work with Corel because the shortcuts just refuse to work when I try to set them to a specific button. So I have been stuck only able to zoom in and out with the tablet buttons, leaving me with no way to use my pen to erase.
The hover sensitivity is a pain to work with, it is needed but regardless it is a pain. I regret not saving up enough money to buy the larger version of my tablet as the small surface is rough on the hands.
It's hard to tell where you are about to draw when using this type of tablet as your hand as to be on the tablet and your eyes on your screen at all times. Meaning I haven't been able to draw anything more than a simple sketch as of now because it's almost impossible, for now, for me to create a finished product with how hard it is to track the pen tip.
After awhile you get used to the tracking but even then I haven't been able to create a perfect finished product because of how rough it is to draw with this type of tablet.
Overall: Not too bad of a product for a beginner, like myself, when it comes to switching from traditional to digital artwork but it's clearly not the best. But besides all the cons it is perfect for a beginner who just wants to get into the feel of things.

I got this tablet for basic illustration (I am just starting out). It is really great for my skill level. Really easy and quick set up. Works great with macs. It's not too sensitive and detects pressure well.

So Much for Touch Screen

You'd imagine having a touch screen device and a pressure sensitive pen would be enough to take advantage of something like Photoshop Elements for managing photos. It's not, unless that touch screen device provides a digitized screen.
In working with photographs for touch-up, the ability to manage fine-grained images, like hair, is next to impossible without a drawing pad device.
The Wacom digital pad, and it was the mid-range model - in terms of price, fit the bill. Easy USB attach, ease of integration (Photoshop Elements provides that driver and device interface out-of-the-box) and well-integrated menu choices, shows that the Wacom Drawing pad is an excellent addition for drawing and photo touch-up for both the novice and the seasoned professional.

Great for touch control or with the 2 button stylus. Helps keep the the hand in shape totally different then a mouse. good for those with hand problems. 2 fingers to scroll 3 to drag 2 finger tap for right click 1 finger for left takes a bit of getting used to but worth it,

It was easy to install it on my laptop. I can use it for digital drawing and photo editing. The only problem I have with it was whenever a reminder shows up on my screen, it hangs up on me and I have to wait for a minute for it to start working again. Not really a biggy.

I bought this as a Valentine's gift for my girlfriend and she loves it! She originally wanted the drawing pad, but I surprised her with this one because of the extra features. It took her a little while to get used to using it versus paper, but since she has gotten the hang of it she uses it all the time.

I bought this Wacom for my son. The first one, the touch feature did not work. He took it back, and Best Buy was out of stock, so they shipped him another one, and he got it in 3 days!! Great service. He absolutely loves it. A bit of a learning curve for the software, but he is having fun learning it.

I just started getting into illustrations but I realized that using a mouse alone in front of my desktop wasn't going to cut it. I knew the software and hardware I had were ready for a drawing tablet but I didn't quite feel ready to fork over more than $200 (budget kinda tight). So, I did some looking around a decided the Wacom Intuos was in my price range, question was to go medium or small? For budget reasons, I choose the smaller CTH480. I did notice a similar model to the CTH480 that was the same size and few bucks less but that cheaper one only worked with a stylus and not my fingers. Having the option to use either the pen or fingers is a good option and it's easy. I'm working on a 24 inch screen so I'd say the small model I'm using just about cuts it but if you have a screen over 20 inches and can spare the cash, go for the medium. For drawing short lines, the small works great but if you need to draw a long line, you might feel like your hand is going to fall off the tablet. I have to say I notice more when I'm holding the pen rather than just using my finger. It is plug-n-play and the usb cable is long enough that I don't need to go wireless (it's an option to add if I want to). What's more important is the pen does not require a battery to work and just like a pencil, I can use the other end of the pen as an eraser. The pen is comfy but doesn't quite have the same feel as a pencil in my hand, takes some getting used to. If you're an enthusiast or a student on a budget, it's a great starter drawing tablet.

I had an Intuos pro before, and this also works really well. I do miss having the extra buttons on the side as well as the eraser, but this is so much more portable but it's worth it. I particularly like that the border plastic around the edges is so much smaller then the pro versions.
