Being an animal lover I knew this would be a difficult movie for me to watch. I expected CG of some sort in the presentation of the horses, especially since this is a Steven Spielberg movie. The horses and their "acting" are real. They are amazing, breathtaking animals who brought to life the plight of the war horse. This is one of the best movies I have ever seen; truly deserving of the accolades it has received from many critics as one of the best motion pictures of 2011. It should have received the Academy Award for Best Picture in my humble opinion. Steven Spielberg is a national treasure.

Althought the plot reminded me a a "Lassie" movie, with the substitution of a horse for a dog, I still loved it. The cinematography was beautiful. The music never once over powered the movie as in other movies. The soundtract was wonderful. The landscapes were breath-taking. Thank-you Steven Spielberg for another epic adventure!

Few movies tell about World War I. The need for horses existed, they were treated badly on the front lines. This changed as did the relationship between American and German soldiers. Soldiers on either side are depicted as being inhumane during war. As the movie progresses this perspective is changed.

Highly Expected this movie to be good and it followed through on my expectations plus some!! Loved it and will have it forever in my collection right up there next to Gone with the Wind..

I heard from a friend at work that this was a good movie, and I totally agree. I can't believe everything the horse went through.

The advertised deal was well worth the blue ray edition.

The story line is good. It makes you think about how much we all have to be thankful for.

My niece really enjoyed this. I love this movie. Great family film.

One Thumb up... good movie but a little long......

Long and sometimes slow. Parts are hard to watch as well. Not my favorite movie and I will not watch it a second time.
