Spielberg chose to focus on the family dynamics amidst the world-changing events. A smart and inspired choice. The emotional battles between the characters are far more relatable than the military/alien battles could ever hope to be. One of my favorite later Spielberg films.

Quality and sound would get 5 stars. However…it’s the story that drops is down to 4 stars. War of the Worlds has never looked better, but that still doesn’t change the movies last act. It’s still rushed and underwhelming.

I own the Blu-ray version but picked this 4K version up while expanding my ultra high def collection. Sight and sound are both vastly improved. I purchased this on sale so even better. I still like the original better but this is a good modern spin on the original film.

This version of War of the Worlds is well done as all Stephen Spielberg films are. The story is pretty simple without any major charecter arcs as the movie is centered around action. I think it is a pretty safe entry into the alien film genre. The only issue I had with my purchase of this film was the fact that the Steelbook was sent to me in a bubble mailer and the entire case was bent.

War of the worlds was surprisingly a very decent film when it came out, and the 4k does a very nice job of improving this film. The sound is good enough for an action movie, but I wish the surround was a little bit more. Overall I would recommend this purchase.

This movie has stuck with me since I saw it in theaters so I was glad to buy the blu-ray steelbook for my collection. Great drama. Good visuals and some of the best tense storytelling in recent memory. But the steelbook design has a weird hinge on the spine that is unlike any other steelbooks. Not a big deal But it doesn’t look as clean and makes the steelbook flimsy when opened.

I Thought That This Movie Looked Good And Sounded Great On Blu-Ray, But Everything Changed When I Watched It On 4K. The Rumble Through The Subwoofer Alone Was Worth The Wait. Great Movie And Special Features, A Perfect Movie To Watch On Family Movie Night!

Another Everyman Tom Cruise movie with some good special effects and CGI. The sense of family fills this film with more jeopardy and sustained suspense than usual, and a few scenes can be genuinely upsetting; so, not particularly good for young or impressionable children. PG-13

Looked good on 4k. Watched the dvd version like 10 years ago and this was definitly worth it. Movie was just as good as i remember, the steelbook looks as good as any, and the 4k part is fine. Obviously not the best, but better than the dvd for sure.

4 Stars for this SteelBook because the design is the same at the previous case. I recommend this edition for the included digital copy that the previous SteelBook did not provide. Video is greatly improved. Dark scenes contain more detail but do not diminish the dramatic lighting.

One of my favorite science fiction movies of all time. The action and tension are fantastic with great special effects. Tom Cruise is one of my favorite actors and he’s great in this. Action movie fans should not pause to own this 4k the visuals are excellent.

I always liked this movie. I think it's one of Tom Cruise's best roles and the plot that revolves solely around him and his family draws you in. The special effects are excellent and everything looks great in this new 4K edition of the movie.

This movie has some better colors in the dark scenes. But with the style it was shot, some scenes hazy and blurry, the 4k treatment on this wasn’t as noticeable as some other recent titles. Still a great movie, if you don’t have it already recommend the 4k, looking to upgrade may hold off.

I'm a sucker for the re-released. But this transfer of War of the Worlds is impeccable. Still a great movie upon recent viewing, this transfer has really been handled carefully. It looks amazing. Colors are very Vivid black sir even deeper. Add it to your collection.

I remember seeing this in the theater in the early 2000s. This was a great film in DVD..it was also great looking on Bluray..But the 4k really blew it our of the water..the picture was crisp and the color was awsome..really would recommend it

Not Bad. Nice set up in the beginning. Very thrilling. The kids in the movie were a bit irritating. Other than that, it's a fun movie to watch. The 4K picture shines here and there, but its the sound that stands out. During the attack scenes the low end rumbles with authority. Good stuff.

This is a great movie to have on 4K. Sadly, I got a defective disc, these things happen sometimes. But, when it played the 4K and Dolby Atmos were spectacular. Hoping to get another disc soon because I love this movie.

I've wanted to add this title to my collection since originally viewing it back in 2005. A great adaptation of the classic with enough action and suspense to keep you interested.

Classic alien invasion story. Decided to replace my DVD copy with 4K version. Movie is engrossing and a thrill ride to watch. Small warning though, the film grain is pretty high on this movie. Otherwise, definitely worth owning.

Not one of Tom Cruise's best movie but it still delivers on the action and 4K makes it even better to watch if you're going to get this movie I suggest you have and you have 4K player I suggest you get it
