Love not having to charge things, solar is the new way to go!!!

Great addition to the video Doorbell 2. It keeps the battery fully charged at all times.

I was super excited because this item was affordable and so easily installed. The problem is if it’s not charging my camera uses about 3-4 percent a day but on a sunny day while charging the solar charger activates the blue ring on the camera and isn’t powerful enough to keep up with the energy being used by the ring so this morning I lost 20 percent battery in about 8 hrs. Now I have to charge my unit more than I did before I installed the solar charger

We installed a ring 2 doorbell and made sure the batteries were fully charged and then left Florida for New York. within a few weeks the batteries were dead and our doorbell stopped working. Since we installed the doorbell on our Florida Condo, which has good sun in the afternoon, we decided to buy this solar charger even though the reviews were not good. Well, since installing, 3 months now, our battery is reading fully charged. IT WORKS GREAT FOR US!! We can leave now for months and not worry about the batteries dying. I think the fact that we get good sun is what makes this great. I would highly recommend if you are going to install it where it would get sun

I have a Ring 2 bell and like it. I purchased a Ring solar battery charger and it is a pain. I have an in house doorbell that works great with just the Ring 2 but I am unable to hook the internal doorbell if I use the Solar charger. There appears to be NO way to run the in house doorbell wires to the Ring unit with the charger installed and the directions don't tell you anything. I'm sorry I bought it but am unable to return it due to taking so long in researching this problem. John A Smales

We have had this solar panel for two weeks now and it doesn't seem to be doing anything for the battery. We have already had to charge the battery twice. The first week I thought it was because it was cloudy all week but it's been really sunny lately and it will isn't keep my battery charged.

Here's my point, Although the idea is sound (I'd like to have this work as a solar charger for the Ring Video Camera devices, The fact is .. this is not a perfect fit for mounting the Ring Securely. (yes, I followed the instructions, tightened the screws of the Ring and it wasn't secure). I'll continue to charge the devices per Ring Instructions instead.

Half the time it doesn't even read the solar charger. Nothing but a big waste of time and money. It is in 4 hours of direct sunlight, every day.
