Must buy OEM - tried the generic ones and yuck. They do not work well. Better to pay a little more and get good quality water for a lot longer!

Great filtration capability and very easy installation. A little pricy but if you like good tasting clear water and ice use this filter. It’s a genuine GE filter which I highly recommend you use.

Does the water out of my fridge taste good? Sure. Do I think this filter is doing a good job? Yes. Why 4 star? It's ridiculously overpriced at $54.99. The filter has RFID chip that IDs the filter to the refrigerator, making the filter proprietary and unavailable from 3rd party sellers. There are some "hacks" to remove the RFID chip from a RPWFE filter and affix it to a RPWF filter or generic replacement. Who has time for that? You can get it from Best Buy for about 20% off using their subscription service, but that's still overpriced to me.

Simple to install and works perfectly. You can get a deal on this water filter when you subscribe to the 6-month renewal plan. That's how long GE says the filter will last, and that has been our experience at home with a family of 4 who drink a lot of water every day. It's right at the 6-month mark when we notice the filter expiration date approaching. So it's nice to know that new filters will arrive on time and we'll save money. The water tastes and feels better after we install the new filter.

Easy to install. Works great as a filter for refrigerator water. Make sure you follow instructions about running water after new filter installed.

The water in our area is fine to drink, but the fridge comes with this filter. Its usually $50 so I only buy them once in awhile, but when I do the water deinfately tastes better. I know it works well because when I get around to changing it out its HEAVY!

Just got a new GE Profile fridge this summer and it was time for a replacement filter. Checked all over and GE is the only company that makes this filter and I feel it is a little pricey but it does do a great job. I think the water coming out of my fridge has better taste than the bottled water we buy. Very easy to install with virtually no water spillage. I signed up for the automatic replenishment which makes it more affordable and Best Buy just ships me one every 6 months so that is nice. Very satisfied with the fridge and the filter

This is an exact fit. So it takes a couple seconds to install, doesnt leak, and works well.

The filters seem to work fine. Have used this with 2 GE refrigerators. Be sure to read the instructions on removal and insertion of filters to prevent damage to the connector. Easy to install. I recently found out that this filter only filters the chlorine from the water, not the minerals. If you have hard water you will still need a water softener to protect your appliance.
