The water in our area is fine to drink, but the fridge comes with this filter. Its usually $50 so I only buy them once in awhile, but when I do the water deinfately tastes better. I know it works well because when I get around to changing it out its HEAVY!

I have had no concerns with this product. I have been using these filters for years now. My refrigerator tracks when i need to replace and Best buy subscription automatically sends me package every 6 months.

Our water is well water, and tastes good in any case, however using this filter adds some comfort in knowing filtering is being done. Easy to install, lasts 6 months. I originally ordered it from another source, and it came in a bubble wrap envelope which was delivered empty! Best Buy had it packaged in a carton and delivery was quick and it arrived in top shape. I will continue to order new ones from BB.

Love cleaner tasting water this fridge filter definitely helps and a great start to filtering. No leak easy to install.

Water Filters filter water. This is the item that fits our GE fridge. I do not want a leak in my fridge, so I see the OEM filter as a good choice. It does not leak and it, I assume, filters out whatever bad stuff is in my water. OUC water is pretty good, so I’m not sure how hard it has to work. Anyway, it does what I ask it to do.

Easy to install. Works great as a filter for refrigerator water. Make sure you follow instructions about running water after new filter installed.

We have been purchasing this water filter for over the past 4 years. Easy installation and provides clear filtered water with no problems. We have never purchased an off brand filter for our current GE refrigerator. Seems spendy for a water filter and it only lasts 6 months but have read reviews that off brands mess up the computer component.

This water filter is pretty common across newer GE brand refrigerators. It is easy to install. After running some water through it (per instructions), water and ice taste much better than using tap water. Newer GE models also alert users to when the filter needs to be replaced.

This filter is for my GE Profile Refrigerator with French Doors and a bottom freezer. I wanted to use an after market filter but decided to stick with the original GE model, but after doing some research, it seems that this refrigerator requires the GE original filter. It's pretty easy to install but it is a bit pricey.

My wife is very fussy about her water. So, I showed her the data sheet for this filter and she decided the new fridge had to have this filter. She likes the results. It takes the chlorine taste away and the ice is simply to cool a drink, not add flavor. I am a fan of the subscription delivery because I no longer have to stop by the store to get a new filter every 6 months, but also because Best Buy provides a discounted price if you subscribe. As an engineer, I can assure you don't want to use filters past their intended duty cycle. When a filter is "full", it will unload what has been collected into the output. So, if you have a filtered refrigerator and don't change your filter as recommended, you should use the bypass instead to keep your water at tap output levels. If you haven't read the specifications for this filter, check them out. They are quite impressive.

This filter cleans the water i drink. Installs easy. Inly gripe is the purging of all the water initially, but it is what it is.

It was exactly what I needed. And it was at a fair price.

Keep it OE and your appliances will thank you. After trying an aftermarket filter and having it leak I’ll never deviate from the real deal again. Live and learn!!
