    Having never had to change a filter on a refrigerator before I was surprised at how easy this was. It only took a few minutes to remove the old one, install the new one and clean the line. Then we were back to enjoying filtered water again.

    Great filter but pricey. We usually go through two filters a year just as the manufacturer recommends. Easy to install.

    The filters being referred to are widely considered to be the optimal and best choice for the GE Profile line. As a volumetric component, the recommended replacement schedule for the filters is every 4-5 months, contingent upon usage. Write the installation date on the filter when it's replaced so you know how long it really lasts. installation is extremely easy.

    This is the genuine GE water filter that has the chip/sensor in it so it will work correctly with your fridge. This is the RWPFE so make sure it is correct for your fridge. Simple install/replacement. I wish there was a generic because the downside of these is they are about $50 a piece. Giving a low ranking on value because there's no way these things should cost so much. At 6 months it will start telling you to replace regardless of how much water you use so I usually let mine run a bit longer and deal with the messages on my fridge. Thanks GE!

    This is an OEM part that was easily installed in my GE refrigerator. It filters the water, not only for drinking, but for the ice cube maker. Very satisfied with this product.
