Its a wonderful aspect of this fridge and I certainly enjoy knowing there is a filter component. Still, like all filters on the market, its pretty pricey and wish it lasted longer. For the life of a fridge like this, the filters will eventually cost more than the fridge itself - or so it seems. Still, great product

It lasts six months and does what it says it does. I very much like the idea that your filter was in an easy open box whereas the place I had been buying it changed to hard plastic casing that is hard to open. Will be getting it at Best Buy from now on!

Do NOT waste your time with a generic water filter

Water tasted "minerally" and it leaked. Pay for the convenience and better tasting water. If you have an LG fridge that requires this filter, just buy this LG filter and save yourself the disappointment. Besides, it's only every 6 months.
