Product came in the mail with damaged box, filter looked dirty. Ordered a replacement and the same thing happened. Returned it and got my money back and ordered generic models off Amazon instead.

Filter does a decent job providing clean fresh water, intended for 6 month use. Has convenient finger friendly handle that makes for easy installation. Filter does drain a small amount during removal, so a glass or dish should be placed underneath to catch the dribble--to be expected. Filter can be used beyond 6 months, timeout can easily be reset. May eventually limit flow when/if filter clogs. Downside; $50 retail price for a disposable filter is unrealistic.

I love this LG refrigerator filter, it is super easy to install and helps with the appliance filtering process. I had to subscribe to automatic purchase to have it shipped every 6 months so, I do not have to keep counting days when it will be required to be replaced. Does a job of filtering the water and helps my household with getting clean cold water directly from the fridge. I completely recommend this product and if you plan on keeping your appliance for a long time like most households, subscribing to automatic purchase might be a great idea as that will save you a lot of money.

The water tasted better than before. Installation was easy though it took a while to run 5 gallons through it initially. It's a bit pricey though for a filter.

This filter is a must have if you want to use the ice maker and water-in-door features of the refrigerator. Fortunately it is well designed and can be changed without need to turn off the water and from within the 'fridge without need to move it to access the back . Nominally, it lasts about 6 months and the 'fridge model we have senses the back pressure from the filter and displays the approximate time left. In reality, the life time will depend on usage so with a family of only two we get nearer to 8 months life. It is an essential component of the fridge so the question of recommending it to a friend is somewhat moot. A little pricey at $50+ but - if you have the fridge and you want the water you have to have it!

I tried using a replacement generic brand and it was a mistake. I bought this genuine filter and the drinking water and ice taste so refreshingly clean. This is expensive but it pays for itself in the long run and I don't have to carry cases of bottled of water on a weekly basis.

I did not think about the kind of water filter that came with the refrigerator when we bought it. However I am very pleased with the fact that the LG Water Filter is so easy to install and give great tasting water for a fairly long time.

Have had other refrigerators with filter cartridges and this one seems to be the easiest to remove and install. Just wish the price was lower as $50 ($40 on sale) is expensive for a component that needs to be changed every six months.

Bought these on a regular basis. Home we were renting had kenmore elite stainless appliances. This was the filter that replaced the original. Fits perfect. Filters the water nicely. Every 6 months or 300 gallons need to change it.

We thought we ordered the exact filter on line and were wrong! went to BB to get the correct filter, and noticed a difference right away from the old used filter. a bit pricey, but worth it since it only has to be changed every 6 months.

I have used these water filters for a number of years. I have found them to be a very good value, extremely easy to install and very effective at providing pure, clean water for any occasion...drinking, baking, etc.

I like how easy to remove and replace the filter is. You do need a little strength. I like the taste of my water so I change the filter every 3 months

Knowing all the particles the water filter is trapping, we wanted to make sure it's changed every 6 months as recommended. This one is easily installed. We could taste the difference immediately.

These filters work well. They do keep the water clean and tasting good. But they are quite expensive and need to be replaced every few months. So if you are considering buying any fridge, you should no about these types of ongoing costs.

Filter is easy to install and lasts for a long time. Filtered chilled water from the refrigerator tastes great.
