Customers are saying
Customers are positive about the BLACK SN850 1TB Internal Gaming SSD's performance, storage capacity, ease of installation, and user-friendliness, with many praising its compatibility with the PS5. A common concern is the need for a heatsink to manage heat generation, although many users report successful installations with added cooling solutions. The price point is also frequently cited as a positive aspect. While some users experienced longer load times, the majority reported significantly improved loading speeds.

Works perfectly in the PS5 after the update.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works perfectly in the PS5 after the update. If you're on a PS5 with enough games, you may be looking for extra storage space. Fortunately, Sony finally rolled out the update for expanded onboard storage. There is a substantial minimum speed requirement, which this unit easily beats. It is, of course, a world faster than the best USB plug in drive, and it means no cables. Per Sony, you do need to add a heat sink.

Nice SSD!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great speed - very nice as a boot device for OS. Now very affordable (think about the 2TB or 4TB)

Great NVME SSD. Worth the price.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As like most NVME drives, it's a fairly standard installation procedure. Wish it came with the screw to secure it since most people misplace the one provided with their motherboard (if it was given at all). Drive is fast, one of the, if not the fastest PCIE4 drive on the market currently. Reliable. Easy to use software (You will need to get the Acronis software from WD's website to clone your drive if you go that route).

Speedy Value
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this SSD at a fairly high price, and I would have rated it 4 stars for that reason months ago; however, the price has dropped considerably and I would consider this a great value. It is fast and a decent size. Easy to drop into a PCI Express gen 4 computer for blazing fast speed. Make this your OS drive and you will feel a difference coming from a SATA drive.

Works Great with my PlayStation 5!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been waiting for the M.2 Storage Expansion update for a while, and now that it is finally out I was able to expand my storage with this NVMe Drive. It is a little expensive but I think it is worth it especially if you play games that use up a lot of storage like Call of Duty. Just make sure you purchase a compatible heatsink before installing it to the PlayStation 5 and you should be fine with this SSD.

Easy (maybe even fun?) to install…
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I managed to pick this up on a sale and was a little concerned about how easy it would be to install, though when it came time to do so it was a breeze. Is it as easy as the hot swap memory in the Series S/X? No, but it is a very close second. And the SSD works as good—if not better—than the PS5’s internal SSD. I now have everything stored on this SSD with room to spare.

Great for PS5! Meets all the rquirements.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this drive and paired it with a cheap heatsink from Amazon, for use in a PS5. It works perfectly! Games run exactly like they do on the internal hard drive. SONY is very stringent with SSD specs for upgrading the PS5, but this one meets all the requirements, has a solid warranty, and is inexpensive compared to some others. Just buy it!

Speed, price and performance.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Solid drive. Upgraded from the Western Digital Black 500GB due to space limitations. I used the included free imaging software download from WD Support with no problems. Very reliable drive and the price is excellent. I have used other brand pro drives and this one is very close to the same performance without the sticker shock.

Very happy with this internal SSD for the PS5!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very happy with my purchase of this internal SSD for my PS5. I had to do a little research/watch a video to install it and combine it with a heatsink before placing into the PS5, but overall, the SSD is great. Works correctly. And had no compatibility problems. If I remember correctly the speed was above 6000, which was also good.

Great for PS5 - Just Add a Heatsink
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This works perfectly with the PS5 but you have to add a heatsink before installing. The heatsink I bought was $12 and was super easy to add. Going with this drive and a heatsink saved me about $70 compared to the same WD drive with an included heatsink. Took about 20 minutes to install, if that. HIGHLY recommended!

Works like a charm in the PS5
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great price for great product! I was in the market for adding storage to the PS5 once they enabled NVME storage and this drive was on sale at the time of purchase and performs well! Load times of PS5 games are quick and there are no stutters during games.

Perfect for the PC
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this on sale for use in my PC. The speeds were great and the storage was ample for putting in my OS and a few games I have in constant rotation. It helped free up some SATA ports on my PC so I can add more traditional SSD storage but just having a cleaner looking build made it a worthy investment.

Great addition to any PS5
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased for a PS5 and a great addition it is. That said, you must purchase a heat sync for this. There are a flurry of options but buy either the ones that screw together or clip together - nothing but horror stories about those that are rubber banded together. Easy install in the PS5 and a very simple setup.

Seems quick!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Runs quickly (I can tell the difference when doing a compile with many small files and temp files; this is notably quicker than my HP 920 NVMe PCI 3.0 drive on an older intel i7 motherboard, less disk-bottlenecking). Installed easily, no compatibility problems noted with Windows 10 Pro, MSI x570 Tomahawk motherboard, and AMD 3900x

One hot NVME
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.upgraded from my hp 920ex. works great. I had a little trouble getting windows to recognize the drive. Found out I had a controller that was not installed right. Removed it so it would reinstall on the next boot and the drive showed up. Runs a bit hot so I added a passive heat sink/cooler to it.

Anything less is depriving your system
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing piece of tech. Absolutely love this for a boot ssd but handles gaming as well. Went with the identical 2tb for my ps5 with a heatsink. Apply a heatsink if you’re going to use for gaming. These things are a powerhouse so they get a little warm if you don’t have good cooling.
