I bought this for the extra storage capability in my PS5. It works great and was pretty easy to install. You do need a heat sink in order to meet the Playstation recommendations, which I bought separately. The hardest part was getting the cover off the PS5.

This is PERFECT for upgrading space on your PS5. I play a lot of games. And its an Internal memory Playstation. So if you purchase a PS5 like mine. This product is a must buy along with it. Easy installation. Easy formatting. I will puchase another soon!

Bought this for my PS5 to expand the internal storage, so far it's working like a charm. Fits fine, you will need a heat sink to attach to it and you should watch and installation video before installing it but overall, quick and easy.

This SSD is a great bang for the buck value, when on sale especially. I bought one initially for the PS5 and then got the larger 2tb for the PC so this is a first for me with WD. 5/5 speed, install and write speeds.

I got this for my PS5 as a 2nd drive and it works perfectly. I bought a 3rd party heat sink for it and speeds are perfect. This is a great little drive, even though it is quite expensive, it is the only way to expand the PS5 storage for now.

Purchased to install in a PS5. Decided to add an aftermarket heatsink rather then purchase the WD_Black with built in heatsink. Works great and super fast. Worth the extra money if you want to store more PS5 games on your console.

Bought this to replace my WD blue drive. Speed tests around 3x faster. Amazing fast, lightning fast boot times and an amazingly quick load times for my programs. Worth the extra money if your board/cpu supports the Gen 4 speeds.

Blazingly fast. They do get warm also, I recommend a full contact heatsink, you can get them on Amazon for $12. It will make contact with metal on both sides, with thermal tape as well in included. I would not use any of the built in motherboard heatsinks like the ones on my Crosshair Hero VIII. Most of those included motherboard "heatsinks" are just covers with a thermal pad and very little metal which is usually covered in plastic too. They were fine for my old SN700 Drives, but for this new model they did nothing. Believe the hype, these are the fastest currently released Gen4 NVME drives at the moment, even beating the Sabrent and Samsung current models. I get sustained read and writes speed of at LEAST 7100 MB/S read and about 5300 MB/S write. If you have an AMD mother board with Gen 4, there is finally a reason to take the plunge !

This a very good SSD drive for those that want to be ready for the storage woes that await. Definitely recommend buying this with a separate heat sink compared to the ones with a pre installed heat sink.

Amazingly fast ssd drive for use in my ps5. Simple and quick installation and formatting. Moved a couple of games over to it and they're just as quick, if not quicker than performing on the internal ssd drive.

This was used to expand my PS5 storage. I have filled it about halfway with games and it runs just as smooth as the stock Sony drive. Definitely recommend this if you are looking to expand your gaming storage.

Fast speed, perfect for ps5, able to use 15% off coupon for recycling hard drive. Took some time for the agents to look into the program as they were unfamiliar with it but was worth it for the deal

Absolutely amazing speeds. Installed in a ROG Crosshair VIII Hero. Blows my SSD's away! Make sure to only get this one if your MB supports PCI 4.0 otherwise you are spending more than you need to for a PCI 3.0 version.

Best drive for PS5. Been using it for 2 months in the Beta. Completely flawless. Please do your self a favor and get a heat sink. Cheap on Amazon. I got a heat warning and had to reinstall. So easy.

Using with Asus Z590 E Gaming - Fast get almost 7kmbs read times. Main use is for gaming - probably overkill - Easy setup - Comes with Migration software, will need to download it. Did I mention it was fast.

Does what it says but when benchmarking my numbers were low that’s when I realized WD has an app to update firmware and switch to game mode among other things would buy again if you do don’t forget the software!

Fits perfectly in the PS5 drive slot and was very easy to install with a 3rd party heatsink bought elsewhere. Works just as fast or faster than the internal SSD installed in the PS5.

Works exactly as advertised. I’m getting read speeds of 6800 - 6970 MB/s and write speeds of 5325 MB/s, the drive is a beast. Highly recommend for anyone not using it to constantly write and read large files.

I bought 3 of these and put them in a raid 0 on my motherboard. I have no other disk drives and my computer is blazingly fast. Top 1% of all benchmarked computers using PCMark. Very satisfied with this purchase.
