    Bought this to be main OS drive replacement replacing Samsung 970 EVO Plus. An improvement with seq read 6871.63, write 3756.81 vs 970 that was top of charts just year and half ago. 970 performs on same AMD Ryzen 570 motherboard at 3275.84 seq read 2701.50 write on CrystalDiskMark 8.0.2 bench. I usually wait a month to review tech as things start to show true value after a few weeks of use. No issues and OS transferred over with no problems.

    I highly recommend this Western digital sn850. I bought mine for the PS5 and I am very happy with it. There's no firmware update needed to achieve read speeds close to the (7000 MB) that is advertised. (6500 MB - 6800 MB) Unlike the Samsung 980 pro which only did (5000MB - 5500MB) Out the box needing a firmware update to achieve close to advertised read speeds of (7000 MB) which is no good if you can't update it.

    I joined the PS5 Beta program and wanted to extend the m.2 SSD Storage in the console. I took the risk of trying this drive after reading their measurements and speed specifications and this drive seemed to match them all. I went with 500GB just due to price/risk. I think it's safe to go ahead and try the 1TB version if you're serious. I'm glad WD comes through again with a solid product for gamers.

    Works perfectly on the PS5! Loads games slightly faster(about 1-2 seconds) than the soldered PS5 SSD and that’s saying something because the PS5 SSD is no slouch! I do think that the current PCIE Gen4 is very pricey and need to come down but the performance is there.
