I had an empty 2.5 inch external hard drive enclosure. This is big enough to hold all my files when I'm on the road. Thumb drives are nice but this is big enough that I don't have to worry about running out of space. With some of the new external hard drives it isn't possible to crack open the case and harvest the hard drive from inside because they are soldered to the control board. I can easily remove this from its case and slide it into an open bay on my desktop. It's a great drive for the price and the amount of storage it provides.

I used this for a second hard drive in laptop. (1st drive is SSD) Installation was a breeze and instantly gave me the needed storage space I was looking for. Have been using the drive about a month and it works well.

My Grandsons PS 4 would not reboot and after several attempts at reinstalling the software, I decided to try a new hard drive. this one fit and worked perfectly. Installation was fast and easy. He was super happy that his PS 4 was back in operation

It works great inside my gateway laptop and I have more storage space that I had before and I'm allowed to carry a lot more inside of my laptop and I can work more efficiently with it

I dropped my laptop, and blew my hard drive. After diagnosing it and confirming it was indeed the hard drive, I did hours of research. We picked this little guy up for such a great price, I was a little concerned it wouldn't perform the way I needed. It not only performs better than my original drive, it was easy to install. I have had no issues with it at all. HP Pavilion g7 Notebook, about a year and a half old. Runs like new now.

I needed to replace the 500GB hard drive in my 4-year old MacBook Pro. While looking for replacement drives, I found that this 1TB drive is the exact same form factor as the original 500GB drive. And you get the additional 500GB for only $15 more. That made it a no-brainer to increase the capacity. It has worked flawlessly so far.
It's a relatively straightforward repair if you want to try it yourself. I was in a rush, and just had them do it at the store for about $50 -- they had it in and out in less than 30 minutes.

I purchased this hard drive for an Asus laptop that the hard drive had crashed in. I installed the hard drive in about 10 minutes while watching a YouTube video. This was my first time to replace a hard drive. I had the recovery disk for the computer that Best Buy made for the computer when I originally purchased it! It took about an hour to install the recovery disk! The computer now works like a new one!

I have no complaints with the product thus far. I purchased it after the stock HDD died in my laptop. It's been running splendidly since I installed it (about three weeks ago).
So far, so good. I don't see any reason against buying it if your laptop has a failing HDD - but every other component is still running close to when you first took it out of the box. Luckily, all the additional infrastructure of my four-year-old laptop is in stellar condition.
It was either spend $40 for the HDD swap that I can do myself, or buy a new laptop for $350-plus with downgraded specifications from my current laptop. The other option was sending the laptop back to the manufacturer for over $200. They would replace my HDD with a refurbished HDD. It's not cost-effective.
