This drive(of which I have multiples) has proven to be very reliable and they also offer great performance. Very easy to install and setup. The drive also comes with an excellent warranty. Western Digital has been my 'goto' brand from many, many years.

Brand new gaming system I just built and found my drive was dying, so while I had the new case open I got my drives. Living in Alaska I don't have the resources I had when in Atlanta, not as many computer outlets or drives to choose from. Western Digital has been real reliable and good to me over the years, so my new machine needed a 2TB or more Storage drive. WD Black drives have been in my machines for at least 4 years now and as a loyal Western Digital user this gaming rig needed one too.

This is a great drive. It was easy to install and saved me having to buy a new iMac. I doubled my storage and performance is good although the drive noise is noticeable.

I have 8 of these matched in a Probox external array. I use this not only for backing up all the pc's in the house but also to store 18 years of digital photography. Those latter file sizes range from a few megs to greater that 180M per file and I don't like to wait when accessing them via photoshop. The blacks are fast and fit for purpose, a nice blend of size and speed and reliability.

This 2 TB drive was reasonably priced and installed quickly and easily. It comes with Acronis True Image software to create an exact clone of your current disk, but with a larger partition, of course. Took around one hour, and my Windows system works flawlessly. Screws were included. The Acronis software needed to be downloaded, which is okay and guarantees that the latest version is used. Upon first booting with the new drive, Windows 7 automatically downloaded the necessary drivers and installed the software interface. It's nice to have more than an extra terabyte in my system now. I've always liked Western Digital drives.

The WD Black drives and very good with speed and performance. I had put this in a server and works great. Just the only draw back is the price is a little high. I wish it was also at 7200RPM, I believe it was only 5400, but I guess for it being a 2TB or 3TB drive, you won't get that kind of speed from the High Performance ones. Overall a great drive if you have to redo a server with failing hard drives.

I was looking to replace my aging Hard Drives But after the flood
in tiwan the landscape changed more choices less reliabilty
only two major players left in the HD market for magnetic drives
so I had to wait until a performance drive with a 5year warrenty
surfaced. Best Buy did a Price Match and After the Price came down
a few days later refunded me the difference.

Built a new Win 8.1 computer this Christmas. Got this as a last minute item as a backup to my SSD primary drive. It is really fast and works well so far. I wish the instruction manual would have had actual instructions in it though. I had to get help to set it up to show up properly in Disk Management.

The drive installed with no issues, which is what you like to see, and is running well. It was installed in a Dell 27 inch all-in-one which had gotten infested with malware and wasn't treated soon enough, and with enough forced shutdowns, etc, the hard drive had to be replaced.
Of course, all hard drives can fail, but as for initial indicators, it's running well. I'm an IT support person who works for individuals and home users so I've replaced many, many drives and you can often tell if a drive isn't running right, straight out of the box. This one was fine, allowed a speedy OS installation, and is running fine. So far, it's about 6 weeks with no indication of any problems.
I'd recommend the drive based on this experience. If it fails long term, I'll try and update this review.

So far the WD - Performance 2TB Internal Serial ATA Hard Drive operates very smoothly. I didn't exactly know what type of WD HDD was performance but when I opened it i found inside the box a 2tb WD Black HDD seeing that it didn't clearly say which one it was but i'm very happy with the results.

My Seagate Drive began to fail, a Western Digital BLACK label has a 5 year warranty. Black labels are also WD's performance drives.. So good warranty, good performance, and TONS of space.
2TB is more than I needed, but BestBuy was out of the 1 TB model and my PC was basically dead without a new drive.. So, the 2TB it is. So far, no complaints, the drive is quiet and performs well. LOTs of space to spare. ;)

Got this one after my hard drive from another brand bit the dust after only 2 years. I've had this one for about 3 months and it has been great. Faster than the old one, easier to install, and quieter.

Hard drive tanked. Got this one. So far so good. It was easy to install. Would've liked a hard drive with an operating system installed on it already, but in a pinch, this was a great replacement. It was plug and play. Bought a new version of windows, windows installed, and the hard drive went right to work.
Kind of nice buying a new hard drive because you don't have all that bloated software installed on your system. Just a hard drive, operating system, and that's it. It was nice to start clean.

Needed a good hard drive to drop in my PC, since Windows flaked out on me, and I figured it was a good time to take out the three year old drive in my PC, in case it was failing too. I've never had a Western Digital drive fail on me, so this one fit the bill. I just wish the price wasn't so high, but it's the result of production problems impacted by massive flooding in Southeast Asia, where these hard drives are made.

Bought this to replace another brand in a new computer that failed after 5 months. Failed drive is still under warranty but they will only replace it with same item, which is not what I want. WD is my preference in hard drives.
Good product with a great warranty that I do not anticipate needing. But it's nice to have it available in the unlikely event of a problem.

This drive costs a bit more than anything else in this size. But it'll save you the hassle of having to truck back to the store with a dead Seagate or WD Green drive. I have had numerous failures with other brands and the cheaper Western Digitals.
Avoid all others, just go for the best. That's this drive.
