I wish I didn't need this out of emergency sake, but my cat knocked over one of my Passport Drives and it died immediately. This was a replacement, but the size and price was less than the passport it was replacing! The pricing and size has gotten so affordable, there is no excuse not to get a backup solution and this one was more than sufficient. I am getting another one to give to my parents for their backup.

This is my third WD hard drive in 10 years. I still have my first. It is still holding strong. Always acquiring more and more digital media. Reads/writes fast. Love WD!!

Got this storage device for 89.00 and it is well worth it. Keep in mind this isn't a raid device, just a single drive solution. For what it is, it is a decent device.

4TB Western Digital hard drive was super easy to set up and use. Also easy to find files stored on it in my sidebar. Hoping this lasts longer than my Seagate has.

does what a backup drive is supposed to do. a tad bulky than what i wanted (not as portable) but for the space and price range this drive is doing a good job!

I purchased this for my son to use with his PS4. He said all he had to do was connect it via usb cable and his PS4 prompted the setup. He said it works great.

I bought this for extra storage on our PS4. We were thinking of doing a storage upgrade on our hard drive but we're pleased that now you can use an external drive. This was very easy set up. We don't travel with the PS4 so a non portable unit works for us.

I needed extra storage for media files that were filling my internal disk drives, and this works well. I have had good luck in the past with Western Digital for their reliability. In reading reviews, I saw that these drives contain WD Red disks, which are network-rated and good for continuous use. Portability is not an issue, since the drive will stay with the desktop computer at all times.

These are Western Digital Reds with a normal SATA connector when taken apart. The USB "proprietary" connector the other reviewer is talking about is *NOT* this drive (he / she is referring to the 2.5 inch portable drive with the same name). I bought a total of 5 (three from one store, and two from another - due to best buy's non-business purchase limitations) and they all turned out to be Western Digital Reds. The bare drive does show it has a 2 year warranty, but it's description is "WD easystore Desktop" with a model number of "WDBCKA0040HBK" when you do a warranty check on the WD website. All of mine are model: WD40EFRX & have NASware 3.0, with a mfg. date of March 2nd, 2017.

This external drive has been a great option. I have backed up 2 PCs and 2 tablets with no problems. I have copied material as well and everything works.

I can save and back up all my pictures after each photo shoot, making me happy I don't have to worry about the computer crashing and losing everything.

The WD - Easystore is an excellent back-up drive. It was easy to install and is effortless to use. I have it set to back up every hour. It does that and it clearly indicates that the back-up is complete. Of course, at its size it is best suited to desktop machines, but is easy to connect and disconnect, so laptops could be backed up when brought back to the office.

I bought this as a hard drive storage oddly enough not for computer but instead for my Xbox yep you guessed it this thing can be used as additional storage for your Xbox PS4 or even your computer came with super easy setup instructions even detailed information how to use it for the desktop or for a video game console. Would recommend the product

I love this i use it to store all my videos and picture and it is also great because i can also connect it to my ps4 for extra storage if i needed to

Standard WD HDD that works as advertised, but I wish there was a "power off/on" button so it wouldn't be draining juice constantly. I now have plenty of hard drive space for my Xbox One S.
