This is an external hard drive, which is less than 1/3 full so far. I've had it a few weeks, and it has worked perfectly. The true test of a hard drive is how long it lasts in the long-term without errors or failing, which it is too soon to tell. I give it 4 stars for now, just because it is too new to tell if there will be problems.

In my 34+ years using hard drives, I found that the hard drives companies are like photographic cameras makers, one time Canon have the best camera and then Nikon make a better camera and so on. I used to buy Segate and I had a good warranty, sometimes 5 years, and with the time they reduced the length of the warranty to only 1 year, the hard drives barely pass the time of the warranty when they broke, loosing all my data, but there is no problem, Segate made a data recovery and they used to charge a lot, one time for 2TB I paid almost $1,500 and I recover only one fifth of my data, the rest was corrupted. So after loosing several of my Segate HD's I switch to Western Digital and some of the hard drives have only one year warranty, but It last for 4 or 5 years o more without any problem,(I have 10 years with Western Digital, and my hard drives still working in my system) I'm professional Photographer and my info is very important (Photos and Video for weddings) I learn that not all hard drives are make equaly. At this time Western Digital is producing a very high quality products, I feel safe owning it, because I don't have to worry about loosing my information. It is important to have a back up of your info too, I recommend to have a dual system if you can afford it. I also own WD My Book Duo 6 TB and I feel that I'm protected of a power failure and my info is safe. When I brought it, I start having a perfect Customer Support to guide me, the set up process was very easy, something I didn't have with Segate. About my WD Easystore 4TB I own it for a couple years and still working perfect, I believe one secret is to keep it cool, well ventilated and out of dust, I defragment my drive every month to speed it out, and is it. If you get a Western digital Easystore you will feel secure and confident with the product installed in your system. I recommend this product 100% to everyone is worth it the money you pay for it.

I purchased this drive as an external storage device to back up all my families photos and files. Very easy to set up and use. Perfect for what I needed, with space to spare as the photos keep coming!

I use this for my PlayStation 4 and it works great. I was able to transfer all of my games and applications and is now the default drive for all apps and games. Application load fast as well

This is a good quality 4 TB Western Digital external hard drive. It has fast data transfer speed with USB 3.0 cable. It's not very portable, but it's only $80 from Best Buy in summer 2019. Given inflation has impacted many retail markets due to COVID in 2021 and beyond, this product is still at good price now. It does have some spinning noise when it runs, but that's pretty durable to use. But overall, it's a good quality 4-star hard drive bought from Best Buy!

This hard drive was purchased for extra external storage for a Xbox One. New games are 30-40 gigs and my 500 gig internal was almost full. 4 terabytes is massive and this should last me for a very long time. The price was right, on sale for 99.00 from 199.00 and install was easy. Just plug it to the console with the supplied UsB cable and the Xbox will ask questions on your preferences and format it for you. Very quick. So far so good.

I'm using this as extended memory for my PS4 and so far it runs well. I haven't had in lag or loading issues. I got this on sale for $89 which is a steal for the 4 terabytes.

Upgraded my external hard drive to thus one, only downside this has to be plugged into the wall. I knew thus when buying but couldnt pass up the deal for black friday

After a few months of use, this hard drive does what it's supposed to do, and without any noise so far, which was the issue with the My Book I had bought previously.

The problem with digital photography is archiving all those photo's so 4TB helps a lot. Comes formatted for PC but reformats to Mac in a few minutes.

This is a good value and it works appropriately as an external storage; I use this with Xbox One and it was very easy to setup and it works great.

I consider myself a storage space miser. I love to have it, even if I don't really need it, and I hate giving it up. I bought this because I needed more space for my photos and videos (I'm a photographer and YouTuber-wannabe). I'm already looking at possibly expanding yet again, as my external backup drives - which are several years old - might be getting ready to give up the ghost. I am a Western Digital fan and have always had great success with their products. These drives are long lasting, quiet, and do the job very well.

I needed a larger backup drive and saw this at Best Buy for $90. Bought it, easy to install and working great. Can't beat the deal.

Western Digital has been my go to storage device for several decades. WD makes reliable and well priced hard drives. I especially like the external hard drives to use as back ups and extra storage for my laptop.

While much is written about cloud storage, on site storage can be very helpful, especially for secure info. The Easystore is easy to install, just plug and play for the PC. Attaching it to a USB3 connection will give you quick access to backup material or as an extension to a nearly full hard drive. Units such as this are primarily designed to be desk based units, rather that the smaller hand held external drives which are also available from this vendor.
