I bought 2 of these drives on sale with Best Buy on the WEB - 1 for me and 1 for my girlfriend, plus she and I both had $5.00 Best Buy Points for more savings. This USB3.0 Western Digital 1TB external drive is exactly what I needed to store movies on for my IVIEW 3500STBII DVR (uses USB devices to record or play video). Works with my WinXP - Win7 computers also. It came formatted as NTFS, and with my Windows "Fat 32 Format Tool", I can even format the entire 1TB to FAT32 so any TV or DVR media player see the drive and can run the movies. I even used it to make a Windows Backup Image for a Net-Book computer, before I upgraded it to a newer OS. It is compatible with USB3.0 & USB2.0, and Data transfers with this drive on my older USB2.0 jacks is faster then with regular USB2.0 devices. The small size is just right, the 18" USB Cable is an excellent length, and I really like the LED light on the front which shows it powered up and flashes when the drive is reading / writing data. NEXT TIME I WILL BUY THE Western Digital 2TB OR 3TB DRIVE, as I see so much that I can use this kind of data storage for. Way to go Western Digital - better than the same thing by Seagate.

The storage device was very fast in transfer and reliable it also came within a few days and it has done me so good by helping me store games from my xbox one to transfer it over to this in order to free up space for my future games coming up soon in the next few months the price was very reasonable for such a device as well and I would highly recommend it to anybody if you need space buy this it'll do you wonders

I bought this as a add on for my xbox one. Could not be more happier with this. the price was excellent and the compact size fits just perfect within the entertainment stand next to the xbox one. great add on

My iTunes library was putting my laptop's hard drive in the red, and I was so glad to find this external hard drive on sale! I was able to successfully transfer my library to the new drive, and my laptop breathed a huge sigh of relief! My picture collection will be the next thing to go on this drive, as I am trying to free up disk space to install Windows 7 and the current version of iTunes. If you're looking for simple, no-frills, easy-to-use media storage, the WD Elements is your best bet!

I love how slim and small it is. It's perfect for what I needed it for. It's the second what I've bought already. Needed more storage, not because anything was wrong with the first one.

Having lost all of my photographs, slides and negatives during Katrina and the fact that hurricane season is at hand, I thought that a small exterior hard drive would be a good solution. I have saved all of my computer files to this device and have plenty of room left over. In the case of a storm, I will just put this device in my pocket and get the hell out. It has 1TB of memory which makes it a bit slow, but for the money it's unbeatable.

Drive is easy to use, comes pre-formatted for Windows 8. Just plug it into USB drive and connects instantley. Small size makes it easy to put into computer bag.

Great hard drive for the price. I have other hard drives and I trust WD for its reliability. You will not be disappointed with this hard drive.

This was a birthday present for my oldest granddaughter. She loved it and has been putting all the family pictures on it.

Easy to use and a nice size at a good price. Wish I had bought this sooner before my hard drive died and I lost files. Back-up, back-up, back-up!

This has a great amount of space and is just what I need. I've had my computer crash, burn, die, whatever you may call it about three times. It's the worst experience and lesson to have to face and I had to do it three separate times. Twice I was able to back up the computer, but the last time I wasn't. I wish I'd had this awesome gadget sooner as I lost many irreplaceable pictures, important documents, etc. This thing took everything my laptop had on it and I STILL didn't make a dent in it. Don't know what I'd do without it. I love this thing!

This is a great device. It is fast and easy to use. With 1TB I was able to backup files from my MacBook Air and still have more free space. However, I wanted to secure my files with a password but was unable.

Easy to use from the moment you take it out of the box. Just connect and you can start saving photos, docs, videos, or whatever.

simple external storage solution. No problems at all, easy to set up. It comes with backup software that you may or may not want. Personally, I always reformat my drives and in this case, it is formatted for Mac OS X.

I have a macbook air and got this to back it up. It's easy to use, is fast and nice and small. It is exactly what it says it is.

My wife is the computer geek and she loves this and was easy to set up for backup files

I'm hoping this is a good product, it's hard to tell. It was easy to use and the price was reasonable. Hopefully it has downloaded all important information.

For the money it is well priced. However it is made for pc and mac so you have to re-format for mac.
