Good drive for backup. It's WD so it should last. Never had a WD drive fail on me since.

It is just what I need as a photographer. I back up all my images as soon as I put them in the computer to the hard drive.

backed up my files when i put in a new os.it put all the file folders right back where they needed to be automaticly. love it.

Western Digital continues to provide dependable external storage. I have been purchasing externals from them for years.

Using this for my wii u. Seems solid, no lag at all in the games I have loaded on it. I would recommend this product.

I bought the storage to hang off of my USB port on my router for shared storage in my house. Works great and large capacity allows plenty of space for pictures, documents, media and backups.

at first, was a little bit skeptic, but loved the huge capacity! im using it as a backup drive for 2 PCs and 2 Mac's.

As a photographer, I need a lot of storage. This hard drive gets the job done. The only down side is that it is SLOW backing up large amounts of data. Other than that, it's incredible.

Got this WD MyBook to use as a back up drive for my wife's laptop. Easy installation and set up. Works flawlessly.

Running Windows 7 Home premium on a two year old EMachine. Machine was flawless for two years. Immediately after installing the supplied software and attempting a backup with the WD software got BSOD. Tried a backup with Windows, BSOD. To make a long story short, I now have a really nice paper weight. I need to leave the drive disconnected and have spent ~16 hours removing drivers, uninstalling software, endless lists of TechNet articles. The drive may work, but the WD software just really horked things up.

I enjoyed the ease of not having to download drivers and all that hassle. This is a very easy to use item.

Been using this external hard drive for ~1 month so far and it's been great. Very fast (yay USB 3.0!), built-in hard drive encryption, and the software (at least the parts I've used) has been easy to use. It's nice that you can set it to ask for a password if you plug the external into a different user, but for the current user it'll always unlock. Handy for situations like mine when it's constantly being used as a backup drive.

Loads of space to save all my files. Easy access when plugged into my tv as well.
