I had to get help from Western Digital to set it up for my Mac. Settings that come with it have to be erased and new settings entered. It was not as easy as they made it sound in their ad on line. Western Digital folks were very helpful with set up. I was told I would have to register the device on their webpage in order to get future help and the warranty. That was when the trouble started. The website was not working correctly and I could not register my product. I tried over 4 times and it would not work. They knew there was a problem and every time I called they said it was fixed and gave me a new password and it still would not work. After several days and attempts the representative i was talking to connected me to a supervisor The supervisor had me e-mail photos of the package and the device in order to register it. I still don't know if the website is working. The people at Western Digital were very helpful, but were not knowledgeable about the website issues.

The drive worked perfectly as soon as it was plugged in. Data transfer from other drives was smooth and retrieval of data is quick. Unit provides a great amount of storage in a small package.

We have a My Book in every office. We have backed up & stored all of our company files for more than 8 years with absolutely no problem.

This a good drive but the price could be better for a 2TB. This should have been around $69 not $99 Drive prices have been coming down so much you can get 4TB for about $30 more...

It couldn't have been easier to add this drive to my Windows system. I simply plugged it in and started saving files to it. No setup hassles, it just worked.right out of the box.

2 TBs? Awesome!! Downloaded 8 years of photos and documents into this file and still have 1.75TB of storage left. No "floating around in a cloud" but kept in this storage.

The external storage device is easy to install and easy to access. I have plenty of storage space and an excellent warranty on the product. This is great for me.

I was looking for a safe and large place to store my pictures and movies. I did not do much research, but the WD products I have used in the past gave never given me trouble. I have added several hard drives to computers over the past 20 years and WD had been there the whole time. I have had this drive more for 2 months and hedge not experienced any issues with it. Very pleased with this purchase.

This is my second purchase of this type of drive from this mfg. I have had another for over two years and runs great. Plug it in and it goes - provided you have Windows 7 or later - cannot speak for XP. If you are still on XP - hahaha. Reliable, easy to use - plug and use. What more can one say about a hard drive?

Just got it over the Christmas. Easy to set up and use. Have no issues. Loaded it up with movies. I recommend.

Since I began using a My Book for back up this is the third WD-My Book I have purchased for family members and would highly recommend everyone have one.

This is the only hard drive I found that works with Microsoft SBS 2008 backup. WD is the it company that offers the option to format it so it works.

The storage capacity is more than enough leaving me ample room for future use. Stylish enough to leave sitting out ontop of the desk when not in use.

It's great now I'm good all my kids pictures are backed as well as using time machine so everything is backed up in case my hard drive fails again

This is massive on the storage side of things. Software has a bit of a learning curve but a lot better than most of the others I've seen and used.

Great storage for pictures and homemade videos of family gatherings. Enjoy to watch grandkids and yhe amount of space saved by this device.

Good entry level storage drive @ 2 TB and 3.0 usb. I like the password proctection security software feature the most.

It has worked well for the storage of our DVR from DISH. We had to exchange receivers and without this we would have lost everything.

I bought this external drive t use with my XBOX works great and very fast, games lot and run almost as fast as the internal drive
