Western Digital is one of my go-to brands for disk drives. Bought this one to save my late brother's photos from his iMac, whose internal drive was having problems, onto this drive so my sister-in-law could access them easily from Windows.

This is a good external drive for the price. So far my only problem is that I have to disconnect the drive every time I reboot or turn on the computer, otherwise the computer will not boot. And it is not that the computer is looking for the OS in this drive; it goes blank with the hard rive light on. Maybe it is my computer (Dell Optiplex 990). Otherwise, it works fine.

This is a good drive, its quick and quiet, my only gripe is that I bought from Best Buy because its listed as having a 3 year Parts and Labor Warranty, other retailers said only 2 year, so although I could have bought it cheaper elsewhere, I decided that was worth paying the extra for. Now I've just noticed that on the box and the paperwork inside it says only 2 year warranty. Though I'm quite happy with the drive itself I just feel I've been conned, leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

This drive is just what I needed. It added 3 TB to my system so I now have plenty of extra storage. It is also pretty fast being USB 3. Copying from the computer is very fast. Not so fast when copying to the network but then it is using the network speed limitations. I am very happy with it!

I've never had any complaints with Western Digital products - and this one did not disappoint. Well-priced and good quality. My hard drive was filling up and the comp speed was getting sluggish. Having a hard drive this size has solved that problem quickly and without spending too much $$$.

This was purchased for my son's Xbox one. I looked at many and was told this was so simple. It was a easy as plug in, let it load up and your on your was. So I would recomend it to anyone. If your questioning storage, I put 417 large games on it, and still have 41% available.

I purchased this hard drive for use with my PS4. I buy entirely too many games and I was getting tired of uninstalling and reinstalling so I picked this up. WD provides a solid product. Plenty of storage for my games and no problems loading games from the hard drive.

It would have been a 5 star but fussy in how you connect and disconnect. Also would love to have a light to show when it's working. It's so quiet I never know when it is backing up or turned on or off. I had an older model and loved it. Very dependable. I am hoping to feel the same way about this model after using it for a longer period of time.

A nice drive that works fine connected to a computer; however, I purchased hoping to use with a Dish Hopper DVR. Unfortunately, the Hopper would not recognize the drive. Just a heads up for anyone else thinking of purchasing this model to try to connect to Dish receivers.

My last "MyBook" backed up files instantly. I think this one only does it hourly. Maybe someone can shed some light on it?

This is my 6th My Boot external hard drive. All 5 bought over the last 4 years are still working with no problems. Most are used for image backups of my computers and all working flawlessly. Plenty of storage room for the large backups from windows 10,

I bought this to replace a 2tb USB 3.0 hard drive that died. The Xbox One detected it immediately and formatted it. It is working perfectly so far storing my digitally downloaded games. No noticeable slow downs or hiccups that I can attest to so far.

Can’t complain. Needed the extra space for my PlayStation and it’s been good to me ever since. Fast to repond

My old external hard drive (another brand) failed. So I had to purchase another one. I spoke to a sales associate at Best Buy and discussed that I needed a new hard drive to back-up my computer. He said this one is really good for what I need. It has more than enough room. So, I made my purchase. However, when I originally purchased this my idea was for it to over ride my previous back-up just like the one I had. It doesn't do that! After purchasing this and after 5 months. There isn't enough room left on this 3.0 hard drive. After contacting the company they informed me that this isn't the right one for what I wanted. WD customer service is great and I am in the process of purchasing the one I need. Other than the above, it is a good product, but make sure you do your research before purchasing an external hard drive! Lesson learned......

I had to buy a replacement external hard drive to replace one that ran out of capacity. The MyBook 3TB drive that was suggested to me by the sales person was easy to install and has, so far after almost a month, worked as advertised. I have had no issues with it.
