I couldn't believe how cheap this unit was. Honestly, I was willing to take home a dud and bring it back on the off chance it worked well, it was so inexpensive. It's sturdy, runs fairly quietly but clunks a bit when writing. I use it as a media backup and TimeMachine (2 partitions). Very pleased. Five stars if it didn't startle me with the clunking from time to time.

I picked this up on 11/25 on sale for $119. I'm using it for my xbox one since the in internal HDD for it was full. My only down side is that it needs a power supply to work.

I have historically gone with Seagate in the past but this WD is every bit as good, if not better. This drive is perfect for storing all your HD and UltraHD content with room to spare and it's pretty fast too. Should take a while to fill to capacity.

Bought this for my Xbox one. 500 gigs went by fast, 7 games and I was maxed out. This thing has more space then I know what to do with. 5000+ gigs. Awesome. Easy to set up , plug in and format and you are ready. Thanks Bestbuy for showing me this

It works great! the software is AMAZING! like one of the best. when i turn on my computer it tells my how much memory i have left and if it's connected and working. updating the oft wear and installing it is super easy and it just works great!

Currently my second back up drive, first one started to make a weird noise after 3 years of use. Obviously can not avoid this, since drives are mechanical and not SSD. But is you need something relatively affordable and are backing up a BUNCH of stuff this is a great buy (when on sale even better, ------ BLACK FRIDAY) Over all great purchase.

The WD drives larger than 2gb need to be formatted before they work with Windows 7, something not on any apparent adverts, though in cyberspace once I started looking after not being able to perform Windows backup. I formatted, then no more problems. I haven't seen that other vendors have this problem. Maybe it's time to upgrade to Win 10.

Purchased this 5TB USB 3.0 external drive to back up 4 separate computer systems (Windows XP, Windows VISTA, Windows 7 and Windows 10). 5 TB is plenty of room to hold at least 2 complete backups of each system. In addition, WD supplies a free copy of Acronis True Image, which will work as long as at least 1 Western Digital drive is detected. I am very happy with the ease of backing up my systems, and the USB 3.0 speed. My largest backup took 26 HOURS on a USB 2.0 drive, and then just over 2 1/2 hours on this USB 3.0

5 Tb for this price is unbelievable. Excellent value.

This is a fast hd compatible with the xbox one. not only give you space but also speed actually faster than the internal one.

I bought this for my XBone and it was quickly recognized and utilized by the console. Super easy. A bit bulky and not quite as elegant as other externals, yet this is a lot of storage for a low price. Recommended!

I bought two of these for backing up my home file server. They worked great out of the box - my server recognized them right away and was formatted for backup... at these prices you can never have enough backup!

The hard drive has tons of space and is manufactured by a reliable company. The external drives seem to last a bit longer than the internal drives. and with USB 3.0, you'll get great speeds to transferring data.

This product provides lots of storage for the price. Have always been happy with WD products. They have never let me down. I would recommend this for anyone who needs to backup their important computer files.

Works great for Xbox One game storage. Holds a lot more than the internal drive in the Xbox One and has a fast reading speed of 7200 rpm. Have had no issues.

Perfect for backing up all my movies, music, pictures, and files. Fast and very quiet compared to others I have had in the past. I use it on my MacBook Pro. Easy to format, even if you aren't a computer wiz.

Couldn't ask for anything more out of an external HDD. It's 5TB of space for hundreds of Xbox one games. USB 3.0 is as fast as the internal HDD. Western digital quality and dependability. 5 star product!

I bought this specifically to use it as an external storage option for my Xbox One and it works perfectly. Now I can load as many Games(Free Games) on my Xbox without worrying about space to get full.
