researched numerous external hard drives. the WD - My Book for Mac 3TB external hard came out the clear winner. with USB-3.0 backup is lightning fast. automatically works seamlessly in the background. if my files are lost or corrupted, I know they are securely and reliably backed-up.

Picked this up for the extra storage since my Mac was full of music and pictures. Easy to connect and lots of storage space with the 3T. So far everything is running well, but I've only had it for about 2 months. Has a 3 year warranty, and for the price I feel it was a great deal.

Back up was easy but to restore information to the computer was impossible and no info to help.

This hard drive is super fast and much better quality then my seagate which it replaced.

used this as a second hard drive connected to my network router,would not recognize through the netgear n900,it works perfectly connceted to macbook pro for back ups,is fast and seems reliable at this point,i always purchase western digital due to their long lasting products

As my photo libraries grow I've been worried about loss of things that can't be replaced. This backup working with my MAC Time Machine is automatic and I don't have to do anything but just let it do its job.

I connected it to my new Mac and worked great. It's fast and perfect size for me.

I had got my first WD external HD back in 2006 it was 160gb! This will be my like tenth addition since and fyi the one from 2006 and all the others in between work perfectly! Thanks WD

I needed to buy another back up drive for my photography and picked this one up by mistake thinking it was a different one I had my eye on. I can honestly say I don't regret it. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I have had it long enough yet but for the time being it has been doing it's job and faithfully.

This ext drive has tons of storage and is easy to connect.

Seamless connection with my Apple desktop. Did not have seperate connection for USB to use with network (ends are different).

As soon as I hooked the my book up to my iMac, everything was automatic. My iMAC now runs quicker as soon as I backed everything up. I even deleted what I've installed in my iMac to make more room. This is a great item and definitely great for the price.

The price was very reasonable and it works great - backups are done hourly!

So far the hard drive has been intuitive and very fast for doing back ups.

We tried to connect our MacBook Pro to a 4TB WD MYCLOUD External drive. That was about 6-8 months ago. It never worked, no matter how I tried to connect it to our MAC. Then, a few weeks ago, we bought a new WD 3 TB "My Book for MAC" External Drive at Best Buy. Within 10 minutes - YES, 10 Minutes - we had it out of the box and up and running with our MacBook Pro. Together with the Mac's "Time Machine" utility, this drive keeps up to the second changes to the MacBook's system files, photos, music,movies, and selected documents. We feel soooo much better, knowing we can restore the system and/or documents, etc., to an earlier time - ANY earlier time we want. And, compared to the Apple Time Capsule, we saved many HUNDREDS of Dollars. I'd say "go for this one folks!" It's a winner.

Purchased to replace old external disk drive i used for time machine. This has been an excellent replacement that was easy to hook up and use. Comes with disk drive management software.

Best buy had all the compliment pieces to make my Mac systems great.
