I wanted a cloud backup. This made me feel safe. it was very easy to install. Didn't need to worry about how safe my data is

Works as advertised. My only issue lies within the software. Currently there is no way to power down the device unless you type/command it to shut down. WD response is to unplug to power down. But I fear that this act will cause damage to the drive.

I would just buy a 6tb drive if i was only backing up 5tb of data. Thought the 'cloud' availability would be a plus. Reduced namespace is a minus. Speed is pathetic, support dismal from the mfr.

I absolutely love the device. Backing up phones automatically and the ability to access my stuff anywhere is awesome

I purchased this product originally as a Time Machine back up. I have also been able to use it to back up an external hard drive that I have permanently connected to my Mac. It has worked just as expected. I also hope to use the cloud features to allow my family to access the TV shows, movies, and music stored on the WD device. It is out of the way in the closet connected to my router. Less clutter at my computer! I am very pleased with the purchase to this point.

We bought this hard drive to backup our music, pictures, and documents. It was a very easy install and setup.

Use it for channels server. Works great. Make sure to store in a dry area.

This is a great NAS for storing network data in addition to being a personal cloud storage solution.

This is an excellent cloud drive for backup. Great hardware. Easy to install. However, I've had significant trouble using the backup software. This should be easier to use and have better documentation.

Great product, easy setup, didn't even take an hour from out of the box to all devices attached.

I bought this as a backup to all my devices, and one thing I did not take into account is that in my current setup, all of my backing up is done wirelessly, which takes for ever with the amount I have to back up. I have been backing up 2431 CD's for the last 1 1/2 weeks. Next I am backing up all of my movies which is just short of a TB, which I am sure will take a month at best. Might be alot better if I were able to do it with a wired connection but just not able to at this point. The software is not user friendly, but youtube has a few good videos on how to work the software.

Easy to set up but using it long-term is somewhat annoying when compared to a wireless external hard drive with remote access. Plus there are lots of updates....

this is a one drive unit, that connects either directly via usb to your computer or via ethernet. software included is intuitive and generally solid. decent performance on both usb 3 and the ethernet link.

Not for a home server! Use this as a secondary backup for tablets, phones and PC's using the integrated software or following the directions on their forum to connect your device.

This storage device has solved my storage challenges particularly for photos.love it!
