    Nice Backup Device

I purchased the WD - My Cloud EX2 Ultra 0TB version after upgrading to a new desktop PC that didn't have room for two Western Digital high performance disks that I was previously using in a RAID configuration for backups. The fact you can buy the My Cloud EX2 with no disks (e.g. 0TB) is awesome as you can either use existing disks you have or decide which disks make sense for you. The setup was mostly quite easy aside from the fact that the Microsoft Edge browser wasn't supported and I had to download Chrome. This might not be an issue for many but I personally like Edge and the fact it's included with Windows 10 and therefore on hundreds of millions of PC's, would make me think it should be supported by Western Digital. This won't be an issue shortly as Edge is being updated to use the Chromium engine from Google Chrome. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone wanting onsite local backups. If you use OneDrive on your PC you may see warnings in the backups for files on OneDrive that you don't have locally. This is because the Western Digital software cannot back those up. Hopefully they will work with the Microsoft OneDrive team to fix this or imprve the experience.

Awesome device , once you get it setup . I recommend getting the one with hard drive already in it . I had an old mycloud mirror that was out dated , I figured i would take my old hard drives and just put them in the new one and it would work. Nope, not the way it works, you had to re format them to be recognized by the new EX2. What I had to do was buy a new Nas 2tb hard drive and with one of the old hard drive from the old my cloud and format them in the new EX2 . Once everthing was good and I then put the old my cloud with the one drive, with all my data on the network and copied everything to the new Ex2. Took all day . But now my data is safe . Hope this helps

Looked at this item for a while, finally bought June '18. It requires a drive in the socket to set up, I couldn't get away with running it empty with USB attached drives. Interesting features. Plex is working for me, Twonky seems to be the default browser, seems like they are still supported by WD. Plex was recognized by my Samsung Blue Ray player but need to figure out server permissions. Allows network access to my USB drives but the applications aren't supported on JBOD drives, just the one installed in the server.

Bought this to replace an older WD cloud device that is going out of maintenance. Easy setup. We use it to store all family files and be able to access from anywhere, also to store directly to it from our iOS devices. Works flawlessly. Activated ElephantDrive fir backups. Also easy setup. Have only used for a few days, so far working well.

Product is good, I have replaced an old version, the only complain is about the internal fan/hard disks that are bit noisy most of the times,

I recently replaced an older mycloud NAS device with this product and have been very happy with the responsiveness of this device. The interface is much improved and the speed is also impressive. I'm still not jappy with WD's lack of support with my prvious device but I'll give them a second chance.

I liked this product. It was originally to have a good size storage for my mac air book but it turned to be good for that plus good backup storage. My only reason to give it 4 stars that it was hard to set up and it is still hard to know how to use all it's features

This device's performance exceeds my expectations. The app for transferring data using the device's built-in USB 3.0 port makes data transfers lightning fast. My hard-earned $$ were well spent.

I love this storage unit. I use it to back up both of my computers and it is so easy with the software supplied. I run it as a redundant unit so if one disk goes bad, I just have to swap it out with no loss of my data. Runs quietly in the corner and I makes my life worry free, as far as data storage goes.

I happened to get my hands on two 3 terabyte drives and needed a NAS device. I was using an older one drive seagate one which was extremely slow. This thing was super simple to configure. Plugged in both drives, configured raid 0 array and formatted drive. Thats it. Both my mac and pc devices found the unit as soon as they booted. As long as it last me I have 0 complaints.

This NAS was extremely easy to set up, install drive, login through the network, and you're good to go. We use it for both windows and mac OS backups and it works great. It also doubles as a media server that is super easy to set as well.

The only issue I have had so far is that since it is cloud connected, everyone is trying to get into it. I do not have it accessible through the cloud and it is still being hit. I have an Orbi WIFI so it blocks the attempts, but is annoying.

I got this device after my home server had a hardware crash. I garbed this so I could save may data. I like this device as I can access my data from any ware. I chucked in two 6TB drives. It's really easy to setup and makes no real nose. At some point I am going to rebuild my server but for now this works for most of my needs.

This is a great quality NAS for its price point. Easy to use. Fast boot. Like all WD products there is no option to enable rsync after reboot or even permanently mount remote servers. You have to start rsync and mount filesystems manually after ever reboot.

Got this WD EX2 and added 2 Seagate NAS drives. Thought I might have issue as it's a WD NAS box. No issues!!!! Works great and does everything it's supposed to do. Setup was super easy and took less than 1 hour with adding the drives and all.
