I was able to set this up on my home network without any previous experience. Now we have a large secure space for our pictures, music and important files. We lost an external drive before so the raid 1 was a feature I was looking for.

I purchase the diskless version and install 2 external drives also from WD, so far after a month working continuously, the NAS works perfect.
All on our small office has access to the drives and we share information even on the road. Perfect system for small/home environments

I was able to reuse 2 4TB WD RED drives removed (and reformatted) from 2 MY Home drives that worked terribly. Is set up as jbod for 8TB of storage for movie and photo collection, and camera system storage.
Excellent, reliable connection to gigabit network and wirelessly to an I Phone.

Good product. Seamless photo backup to dropbox and clouds. Purchased disk-less version, stuffed it with Seagate 18Tb drives. Sweet.

First one worked great, so got a second. This is a great cheap entry level solution to home networked drives. Lucky enough to get it on sale, so even better. Never had any trouble accessing drives remotely either.

I upgraded to this unit as I was worried my Apple time capsule was about to fail. I like the raid configuration that allows for mirrored storage. Interface is ok, was a little tricky to setup after buying the disk less version and adding my own drives. So far so good.

Have had it for two years now and since the beginning whenever the power goes out or it is disconnected, a system reset has to be done in order to access files again.
Other than that when it's working it has good transfer speed and response.

I needed an up to date NAS and this worked perfectly. I swapped out my drives from the old NAS and set this up with very little down time.

This has been a game-changer for my workflow. Makes it so much easier to share large files as well as backup files when away from the office.

Instructions were a little lacking, but I eventually got it set in RAID 1 with my 2 new 10TB hard drives. Moved about 5TB of data on to it pretty quickly and now everything is backup up and accessable from all the computers and laptops in my house.

Works great on a network for storing pictures & files. I little bit tuff to set up at first, but with help from Western Digital it's working fine. Took about four phone calls.

I thought I was getting a budget NAS that could do everything I wanted. Handle a media server, back up my Mac, etc. It has been unreliable as a media server and has failed to complete a single backup. I have had to visit several forms to try and find workarounds for issues and have yet to find a solution for the failed backups. At this point, I may just return it...
