This worked great for fast file transfers and hosting VM's remotely with NAS. However, after just 5 months of use, the fans in the unit stopped working forcing shutdowns and became unusable.

The item I ordered doesn't work as specified! It is supposed to be plug and play, I plugged it and it don't play!!!

After a 1bay my cloud nas hardware failure, I bought this and returned it after 3 days. Operating system is very limited. It does the job for an amateur.

Got this to setup a home cloud but the item I picked did not recognize the ethernet connection. Hopefully its just with this unit

Exactly what we needed to replace our antiquated file server! So much faster than the old machine it is amazing. Set up as a dual RAID we now have a current backup all the time. With 4TB of storage, we should have enough to go several more years without needing more, and when we do, just swapping out the disks is super simple! Thanks Best Buy!

Great product! Perfectly working so far…easy to configure and setup. Quiet and quick to backup and restore. Definitely recommend!

I manage 3 of these, 1 personal device and 2 for a business. 1 serves as an office "cloud" system and the other is offsite for a back-up. The two "talk" each night to back up files. I like that they are easy to set up, can be accessed from anywhere via the web and have that back up feature,

I chose this server for functionality and found out later how fast it is compared to others in its price range. I love things that just work, even if I accidentally kick the power cord out.

I bought the diskless model and added two 4tb WD red drives. I currently have approxiamately 280 movies and 6000 photos stored on it. It streams flawlessly to our Apple TV and iPads. This is a very capable network storage device. I have set mine up in a raid 1 configuration so everything is "mirrored" onto both drives. A good value for the money.

I had a Buffalo Linkstation but it was getting too small so decided to shop for larger size. Buffalo was slightly cheaper but they didn't have the ideal size I needed. Purchased this unit and selected my own drive size. It met my budget and need for space. The GUI was very intuitive. The Cloud access feature was very cool.

This is my second WD NAS Storage device. They are great for home use. My only suggestion is to run some external cooling fans because these have a tendancy to run hot.

Uses online setup tools. No printed manual. If you know what you are doing and are familiar with networking basics, no problem. If you aren't, either do some research, or get help setting this product up. Once I had it up and running, it works great!

Great Product, Best Version so far. WD needs to have better startup info when you get the one without drives!
