Even though this is still a spinning drive, you can't beat the economics of this device. You're really not compromising much considering the savings over an SSD. Just be sure to have it stationary BEFORE you plug it in and always wait for it to spin down after you've unplugged it and BEFORE you lift it off the surface and start moving it around. It will last MUCH longer if you follow these simple guidelines.

Portable and very easy to use. I backed up my entire hard drive from my MacBook Pro as I needed to transfer certain items from it to my new MacBook Air.

Small, light, packs easily, and provides 2T of storage space. So much cheaper than what it would have cost to buy a MacBook Pro with 1T of hard drive space. Been using external hard drives for storage for years.

This is my second passport drive I’ve purchased. I love it. For a non-computer person like me, this is easy to use and find info at a later date.

I began using this external hard drive to back-up my iMac in the fall of 2019. I was able to easily integrate this with the Apple Time Machine app. Recently my iMac's internal hard drive began failing. I replaced the internal hard drive ,and was able to easily load everything from my external WD-My Passport for Mac (2TB) hard drive. No data was lost.

Worked great to back up information with room to spare. Elizabeth in the Geek Squad area was extremely helpful.

I’m not always big on the cloud and I had a lot of external drives so I bought one took all the old ones to had them transfer it onto this works great

EASY INSTALL BUT I THINK ALL EXTERNAL DRIVES SHOULD BE COMPATIBLE FOR ALL COMPUTERS BUT IT IS PERFECT FOR SIZE AND NOT BULKY AT ALL AND COMES IN GREAT COLORS IF YOU WOULD WANT TO MATCH COLORS OR SOME WHAT

Was perfect for what I needed to accomplish. It has way more space than my previous one and was super easy to setup with my IMAC desktop setup.highly recommend getting it.

As advertised, very compact size, simple plug in play installation. 2TB is perfect for the average person with room to grow. I only used 1/8th the space for everything I need to save. Bought 2, one for my files, one dedicated to Time Machine backups. We'll see how long it lasts...

Excellent, the usb 3.0 to USB C is a great piece, makes using any of my WD hardrives a breeze to use on the macbook. 10/10 Would recommend.

I need portable hard drive to back up my computer and this was perfect. It was extremely easy to set up, just plugged it in to my apple computer and it automatically prompted me on the setup. I've had it now for almost a month and its been automatically backing up perfectly without issues.

I needed to backup my HD while upgrading computers. The one I had did not have enough room and I was not wanting to spend all day trying to figure out what it had and what was duplicated. I wanted to backup my MacBook before my upgrade. I wanted a backup in my possession, not just the cloud. This was in stock and it. more than enough space and I was able to use it right out of the box. Immediately compatible with my Macs and I did not need to download or install additional items to use it. It was reasonably priced as it cost less than the one I was replacing and it had more memory, less steps and is durably made.

Works really well on my Mac! Needed to open up some storage (too many pics) but this item was perfect and runs smoothly and fast!
