Needed a new external drive to free up space on my laptop. Wanted a SSD to replace a HDD that failed. This drive is extremely fast and the size is awesome - half the size of a smartphone!

Very solid, light, portable, small SSD external hard drive with a ton of space that is convenient for file transfers on the go. After having a standard disk external hard drive crash even with careful handling, I am very happy with my switch to SSD for durability reasons. Quick file transfer speeds.

this is a second gen ssd external harddrive. Very vast and extremely portable. Well worth it if you require both. Comes with a usb c cable with a usb a adapter. I like this approach.

It served the task I needed. I needed a boot drive for a Mac laptop I was working on. I needed to boot the Mac laptop from an external image and this allowed me to boot the Mac and move the Mac around without jarring/damaging the external drive (if it was mechanical). I did not do performance tests on the speed via the USB-C interface which I really need to do to see how fast this drive is. The cable that comes with it is a usb-c to usb-c cable with an adapter to convert one end of the usb-c to usb-a. It’s a stiff cable so not easily bent/curved to take up less space on the side of your desk.

I bought this device to aid in transferring files from my PC to the new MAC I purchased, and to back up my photo library. Although I would have preferred a device with more capacity, I managed to back up all of my files and still have plenty of storage space to spare. Formatting this device and copying files from the PC to the MAC was easy and worked flawlessly.

Very small and very light. Almost to light. If you’ve used Wd before its the same software.

It's really small and works well. The chord is really stiff , everything else is awsome

This drive works perfectly for me as it's very fast and completely silent. It's also very portable. I would definitely recommend it.

This was spendy for what I am using it for but It is zippy an has a lot of extra space for my ps4

Small, lightweight, and works as expected. Extremely happy with it, and i use it nearly every day with no problems.

The WD My Passport SSD is exceptionally fast. Perfect for those who need a drive on the run for photography and video content. But there is a trick. When I first set it up, it was slow and showing more space than what was utilized. Remember the drive comes formatted EXFAT. EXFAT is capable to connect to both Windows and macOS. As a full-time mac user, I reformatted the drive to Mac OS Extended (Journaled). This drive screams. The fastest I have ever used.

I usually use and prefer WD hard drives and external hard drives. However this external drive just didn't do it for me. I liked the compact size of it but for some reason I just don't think its worth the money and the value wasn't there. I ended up returning it

500 gig portable ssd is awesome. My computer was crashing because I was working it too hard without enough storage. This solved it. I'm a photographer and can be working on some fairly large projects that need to be juggled off my computer's hard drive. This saved me. I work off my MacBook Pro from this hard drive in Lightroom now and I haven't crashed Lightroom since I got it. It saved me from having to buy a new computer.

Very small, no noise, fast External Solid State Drive! Works really well, no issues with it

Needed a good fast USB drive to backup a few phones on long trip to Apple Store for replacements... was as fast as expected, good capacity, no errors yet after a few tests, was perfect. It performed as expected, and my expectations are high. Price was reasonable for what it is, and comparable to Amazon, New Egg, etc... So five stars is an easy mark. If it lasts at least in till warranty end, the 5 stars will stay.

This drive is an absolute game changer for those who use external drives on the move. Gone are the days of dropping or bumping a disk drive only to find that you have broken it's ridiculously delicate elements and lost your data. This thing is solid, has no moving parts and is WAY faster than a disk drive. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the cable. You have to use the adaptor that comes with the product if you want to connect it to a regular USB port. The adaptor causes the drive to disconnect from your computer fairly easy which is annoying if you're trying to transfer a lot of data, etc. Besides that, this is an outstanding product!
