I bought this on sale so that my son could back up his photos and video files. It is lightweight and he carries it with him wherever he goes. He is studying film in college and he also works as a photographer, so he needed a lot of space - 3 TB.

When you think your external drive is dead, it may be the controls to run the drive that have gone bad. If the drive has power and is beyond the warranty period, you might want to remove the drive from the old case & insert it into a new case. Nothing lost; everything gained.....and the case is re-usable!!!!!

I backup to external hard drives and needed a bit larger unit than the 2GB and 1GB drives I currently have. My husband came home with this one in black and told me the price was great. I looked online and saw that I could order this pretty berry-colored drive and get it within just a few days. So glad I did!

I use the Passport almost daily to store and transport files between home and office and it hasn't let me down yet. It's small but not delicate and easy to use; quiet.

I am using this for my data back up. 3TB is enough space for me to keep movies and photos. It is very reliable product. It is fast and easy to connecct to PC and laptop.

This drive is fast (USB 3.0), reliable, and puts a ridiculous amount of storage small enough to fit in your pocket. I highly recommend this drive - I have four of them so far.

I mainly use the drive with my desktop computer but I use it to watch movies on my laptop computer. It is great for this because it doesn't need to be plugged into wall socket but draws power from the laptop battery via USB.

I bought two of these and encrypt both of them. I backup my Linux boxes, and send one to my parents house as an off site backup. Once a month I backup my boxes again, and swap it with the one stored at my parents. The storage size and the physical size are perfect for this usage.

This thing is smaller than my wallet. Holds 3 terabytes and has USB 3.0 speed. Only problem i have had is with the media player i connected it too...come to find it, the media player does not support devices over 2tb. Not the Passport's issue. Highly recommend this external drive.

Used for years the WD desktop external hard drives (My Book) to save back-up data from my computer. Eventually the electricity part broke and I lost data or could not recover it. That made me look into the Passport series. Simple USB hook-up, no electricity needed (one less thing to worry breaking down). I chose this 3TB version, as I convert all of my CD collection to MP3's and in best sound quality it would take up too many GB's on my desktop computer. Plus it is mobile all over the world, if I decide to take with me. Highly recommend this dependable device to anyone for important storage and/or back-up storage.

I bought this external hard drive for my video editing. Before I bought this drive I had read all the reviews and to be honest I was a little afraid. People were saying it stop working after a month or I lost all my data after 2 weeks. Besides those reviews, I had to go with what I know is a good product. I have owned and worked with Western Digital products for a really long time and I hardly ever have an issue with their products. So i bought this drive. This external hard drive has worked great for me. I have had NO issues with it. It works every time without loosing my data.

I recently purchased a laptop with a small Solid State Drive that's not big enough to hold all my work and photos. I had another brand of external backup drive that I quickly came to detest. This WD drive, however, was just what I needed. It's small and fast and at 3TB it will be a long time before I'm able to fill it up. I'm finding I'm now backing up my work data much more frequently and am using this drive and the cloud to back up my photos. I've no regrets making this purchase whatsoever. Plus, it's so nice having a device in my home office that's not black! I love the blue color.

Initial use is satisfactory and similar to the 2TB version. Drive is quiet and performs adequately. Three year warranty on prior drives has never been used and will see if this one maintains that standard. This Ultra drive also has the three year warranty.

At the time of purchase I was in hopes of finding a portable drive with a good size of storage comparable to external drives that require a power source. I'm happy to say that this drive delivered quite well and I'd recommend it to anyone seeking the same.

Needed extra storage... awesome price! Gave me more storage and freed up space on my Xbox One, easy to use, easy to setup. Very happy with purchase.

Reliable storage... small package. I manage the editing of a major syndicated tv show out of Burbank Ca. We use these to ship show footage overnight from Burbank to Sacramento every two days. We rotate 4 of them plus duplicate backup drives. They get abused through this process but we''ve never had any loss of data unlike other drives we've used. I feel I can trust them... well, as much as you can trust a non ssd hard drive. They're reliable.

Bought it for my Xbox one since I filled up the 500gb on the console I was able to transfer everything over to this and free up the space on my console and it doesn't even look like I made a dent it awesome if you're looking for abigger harddrive

3TB in small form factor requiring only a single USB connection for both data transfer and power (no additional power supply/outlet required) is great and most convenient. Delivered to home as and when promised in time for gifting at Christmas.

All this space in one little drive. I have always been a big fan of Western Digital and they have not missed their make with this drive. Good Read / Write Speeds I have come to expect from WD and USB 3.0. I am very pleased with this product.

I purchased this product to expand the memory if my Xbox One and to store my games. It works great, just needed to be formatted when first plugged in. Afterwards set the external hard drive as your main storage device and move all your files.
