The range range to phone wasn't that good and the overall boosting was good either. Even when the receiving antenna was well away from anything that might cause interference. Not going to recommend this product.

The Inside antena does not boost your signal if its not touching your phone i think that having to hold the antena in your hand defeats the purpose of the booster don't waste your money.

      Hello!

This is generally the issue in severly low signal areas. The lower the signal is starting with the closer your phone needs to be to the antenna. In extreme situations, this does lead to the phone needing to touch the internal antenna.

FINALLY, CELL SERVICE on the road!

weBoost - Drive Reach OTR offers in vehicle cell service in limited signal areas and boosts signals from good service areas. This version of the weBoost offers an external antenna to pull in cell signals from towers when you usually get no service. I have used other weBoost products for both the house and vehicle. Both products made a difference in our cell services in a remote area, however, this weBoost OTR takes cell service boosting to the next level! The OTR version uses an adjustable height antenna to allow a perfect fit for your truck, SUV, or big rig. Easy to install inside the cab, the wiring is ready for your antenna line once you find the perfect location on your vehicle. All the mounting and wiring equipment is included in the kit. PROS - weBoost's growing reliability and product-line - does want it claims... stronger signals and signal in low-signal areas - all in one kit provides everything needed to mount, install, and use in less than an hour - no-touch operations once installed... works when you turn on your key or use an auxiliary power source CONS - only issue is mounting for this unit is only available for trucks or vehicles with open-frame mirrors or where it can be drilled into the body such as a pickup bed. Unfortunately it is not usable for other vehicles - use the other models for these applications. Too bad as this unit is excellent for pulling in hard to reach signals even compared to their other models! A must-have product for OTR vehicles or pickup trucks!

Low Signal is No Longer a Problem

The weBoost - Drive Reach OTR improves signal quality significantly. We drive a full size SUV and many times during road trips cellular reception can be impeded depending on the region. Now that we have the weBoost - Drive Reach OTR along for the ride, low cellular reception is no longer a problem. Most of our trips are on the East Coast or across the Midwest. Typically the mountain regions have low cellular signal and thus data throughput suffers. After installing the weBoost - Drive Reach OTR, I noticed that I get at least 4 bars on my phone, and the signal is even strong enough to tether other devices and get at least 40Mbps bandwidth on 5G networks. 4G seems to max out around 20Mbps, which is still more than adequate for most mobile activities, including video streaming in HD. I have to attend web conferences regularly when I'm traveling, so having a quality signal is important. The weBoost - Drive Reach OTR ensures I am always online and connected. VPN, web conferencing, web streaming, email, etc. all work great. Installation can be a little involved depending on your vehicle, as you will have to find a way to run the cable from the mounting point to the inside of cabin and ideally conceal the cable. It took approximately 35 minutes to complete the install on my SUV. From what I understand, the installation would be simpler on a pickup truck. Still, very well worth the effort. The improvement to the cellular experience is exceptional. Best of all, you can easily remove the external mounting when you need to get on the highway and then remount it when you need to use it. I highly recommend the weBoost - Drive Reach OTR.

Find signal and bars where you barely could before

To start I was pleasantly surprised when first opening the box and as I was going through all of the contents I found out there would be no need to do a hard install with connecting into the vehicles wiring system. It's a simple plug and play powered by your cigarette lighter adapter. As far as the physical install there is some serious artillery haha. Well made extremely curable brackets, and the antenna has really nice spring at the base as do some cb antennas so that if by chance you are out in the woods and the antenna hits brush or branches it will flex rather than snap off like most rigid mount antennas. The main amplifier booster box can easily be hidden under a seat or depending on your vehicle under an interior trim panel..Due to the thickness it definitely wouldn't fit inside a door due to the window regulator and windows needing to go up and down. After installing I did check in few area where my cell didn't get a strong signal and this noticeably boosted my signal for downloads and signal as far as bars. I tried streaming a movie and didn't have any lag or buffering where as I would have had some in the same areas prior to this install. There was a few instances where it didn't find service but I used a trick I've used in the past to allow my battery to charge faster .. by putting my phone into airplane mode and then turning it back off. It instantly gave me bars of signal once I cycled this. Extra bonus it is 5G compatible!! so it's not outdated as soon as you buy it. It is pricey but if you find yourself in rural areas or places where you get little to no signal I'd highly recommend this to you.

This weBoost cell signal booster is such a monster, that I question if it's okay being around it and if it affects your brain negatively and if there's increased radiation from the increased cell signal. This thing is truly a cell signal magnet and really boosts your connection! Installation is actually surprisingly easy and intuitive. It's a bit big and looks funky, but if you care about performance this is great! I actually had to do some work on the road and connection speed can sometime be spotty when I tether my laptop to my phone. This booster really packs a punch and keeps my connection strong and reliable. I just question if it's waterproof.

    Works well

This product works well providing you install it properly. The installation itself is fairly straight forward, but making sure the antenna’s are located properly is the main thing that is required for the maximum effectiveness. First, make sure you have a good location for the external antenna. I mounted mine on an F150 pickup truck with extended mirrors for hauling an RV. The included hardware allows you to choose the right mounting setup, but don’t expect to be able to mount this on a bumper or a fender. The main consideration for the external antenna is the height. The higher the better. I tried this using no extenders then added one at a time to test the signal. The each time I added an extender, the signal improved. More on the signal later. I also found that the interior antenna needed to be as close to the phone as possible. This was easy for me since I use a phone mount on my console and use hands free, so I put the antenna right next to the phone. The included wires were more than long enough to tuck them away where they could not be seen. I have power outlet underneath the dash so that I could hide the power connector away as well. Once it was all set up, I went for a drive through some spots where I had either a weak signal or no signal. What I found was interesting. In the places where I got a weak signal I noticed a pretty consistent 2 bar increase, but in areas where I typically get no signal, I still get no signal. The only improvement I noticed on that level was that I got my signal back a bit earlier than usual. I have a 5G phone and it did seam to help overall. As I said I consistently had at least a 2 bar better signal. Overall I would recommend this to someone on the road a lot or if you are in an area with poor cell signals.

When I installed this I was planning on testing it on a particular area in my route when I go out of town for work. I usually lose signal in the area for a least 20 min. I'm happy to report I did not once lose signal with this installed. Installation was at an intermediate level. Take your time and anyone can do it. I installed it in my Jeep Wrangler and ran the power to an available aux switch so I could further test it better and sure enough, when I turn it off my signal drops significantly. If you have signal strength issues this could very well be the answer.

    game changer/life saver

Installed this on my work truck as I'm in extremely remote areas of the Bay Area (yes, they exist). Is it expensive? Yes. Does the expense warrant itself? Depends, do you want to be able to make a potentially life saving call when you're in a very remote area? That to me is a no-brainer if you spend any amount of time in such environments. Lost story short, if you camp or work in areas that fall into this category some sort of product from weBoost should be installed on your vehicle(s). The OTR is my second weBoost product (I have a "normal" one installed on my RV) and at this point any vehicle of ours that we use for camping/excursions will have weBoost installed going forward. Prior to installation my work truck would have to rely on my company provided wifi booster (mifi) that would sometimes do the trick if you got lucky, but more often than not would simply not have enough range/oomph to get me connected to any sort of network in order to access files and make calls from the field. With the OTR installed I have yet to find an area where I don't have at least *some* connection. Yes, in the few weeks since installation I've only used it on remote state lands and park areas, nothing more than ~100 outside the Bay Area, so that could be why I've yet to really experience it not helping me out, but the fact it has me covered 100% of the time so far while I'm working warrants the cost, especially considering it's made in the USA. Total game changer.

So I took an unusual approach as far as the application, I decided to use this on my Polaris Ranger side by side. I often times find myself out on the jobsite and notice that as soon as I leave my Office trailer that I no longer have any way to communicate, no phone, no tablet no nothing because I do not have service. One of my guys saw this come in the mail and asked what I was planning to do with it and I wasn't sure, thats when he came up with the idea & I am glad he did. The install on a utility vehicle has to be about the easiest possible. I mounted the antannae to the roll cage, routed all of the wiring and then epoxied the interior antannae on the dash. I also decided to install a master battery switch so whenever I am not driving I can switch off all accessory power so nothing drains my batteries. Time for the test, I have a Verizon & Sprint I-phone and headed out towards the jobsite. I did not get too far before both phones dropped to 1 bar. I reached down and flipped on my master power switch and gave things about 30 seconds to get running and BOOM, almost constant full signal on both carriers. I decided to test out how far I could walk away from the ATV before the signal dropped and could constantly keep a good signal at about 10 feet. I love this thing, I can finally use my ipad to look at drawings in the field and it saves me from soo much aggravation. I wish I would have known about these before now!
