I purchased Lutron 3-way smart switch to replace regular light switch. After replacing it, I was not able to control the light from 2 other switches. Returned it and purchased this pair for $15 more. Set up took some time, but very happy with it. No need of hub to manage them.

Who wouldn't love to be able to control their lights from their phone or schedule them? The installation of these was pretty easy and straight forward. Connecting them to the App was a nightmare. First you have to scan some code with your phone ( I installed many at once so it took forever to find out which code belonged to what light switch because they didnt match up and make sense). Long story short even though i installed 4 light switches i only used one code to set them all up (instead of the 4 separate codes you should have used). Then the App doesnt work 70% of the time the light switches always are shown as "not detected" (turns out to be a big issue many ppl have this problem). In summary great when the product works and when you finally get it connected to the app.

There could be obstacles that are causing some wireless interference. You can try to remove metal objects away from the Wemo device or router and check if there are any improvements. Also, make sure to check if the firmware is updated.

I like wemo. I have most of the switches in my house are wemo. But one stopped working after only a year. So this was a replacement to a broke one. So far only one has broke. I hope is dose not be come a issue again.

Bought six of these and the setup was hit or miss. After calling tech support, the setup the gave me was not even close to the one that came in the package. Finally got all six of them setup and they work great.

At the time of my purchase, I couldn't find any 3-way smart switches with a dimmer. For some reason, now I can find several, but not from Wemo. I love Wemo products and have about 8 of them! With this switch, I can replace just ONE of the 3-way switches and connect the circuit to Alexa.

First thought. Ohhh it is stylish and sleek. It looks very nice, not bulky or ugly with buttons everywhere. From the design aspect it gets an A+ from me. I also like the fact that you can remove the faceplate that comes attached and use your own faceplates, to match the rest of your home. The switches work as they are supposed to and work nicely. Ok let me dive deeper into the review.
There is a white light that is indicative of a button. It’s nice to have if you’re in the dark and looking for the switch, but may be bothersome to those who can’t sleep with any light in their rooms.
It took a bit of reading and looking back and forth to make sure we were installing this correctly, and we have replaced every switch and outlet in our home so we thought this would’ve been a breeze. It took us a little bit to figure this out but nothing outrageous. There’s no labels on/near the wires so keep up with the manual as there are some color wires that you would have no clue what to do with. We placed one on a single pole and the other on a three pole switch.
When it came to setup, that’s where the time factor came into play. When the electric was turned back on there was a huge delay in the lights going on and off but then we read (reading is fundamental) that if it’s blinking blue it’s preparing itself for setup. Once it turned solid white, the reaction time was immediate, however, the setup through the app was slightly tedious. You don’t need to setup with the app if you don’t want to. The lights work without it, but if you want control of the lights in or outside of your home, then the app is required. Once you get the first one installed the second one is much easier and sets up much quicker. Also, if someone else in your home under the same WiFi downloads the app it automatically has everything pulled up without them having to do anything. That’s a plus.
First off it would’ve been nice for the QR setup code if you have multiple installed to be etched or stickered onto the switch under the plate so we could easily know which one we are scanning for, by matching them up with the stickers in the manual. It wouldn’t setup the first three times bc I was blindly doing the wrong codes for each switch. And if you accidentally pop out of the app it starts all over.
I was mislead with this product as I was happy that it could integrate with our nest products to then receive it and the app notified us that it does not and will no longer be a partner. I feel like all adverts for this should then be removed, as for some folks that’s important and part of the purchasing decision.
Another very small annoyance would be the sound when the light goes on or off. No matter if you click it by hand or an app or even if you turn it on by using another non smart/regular switch. I have noticed this sound with other devices in our home(for example: motion devices), as well so this isn’t exclusive to this product, and therefore not a deal breaker for us.
The one that we have on the single pole works flawlessly. We have had a couple issues with the one we installed on the 3-way pole but it’s not due to the wiring. It began to blink white, instead of solid. Which it doesn’t state what a blinking white light means in the manual so we would have to dig deeper. Then it started blue again and then quickly blinked red. When I reopened app it said there was an update so I did that and not sure if that was the reason bc it wasn’t affecting our other switch. As of right now it’s back to solid white. Not sure what was happening.
One of the better parts about these devices, is that you don’t need a separate hub. You don’t have to add another bulky thing to sit and collect dust on a floor or shelf.
Overall, even with some of the negatives we encountered, I would still recommend this product if you’re looking for a sleek smart light switch. They work especially once you sort out any kinks if you even have any. That was just our experience, and may not be yours. I like how I’m able to control the lights when we are home so the kids aren’t afraid to walk into a dark room. Or when we aren’t home and we want it to appear that we are by turning them on through the app or other partner app or virtual assistant. We will be purchasing two more.

I really like these switches. They look very sleek and feel premium when using them. Mounting them inside my existing electrical boxes in my house was easy. Just be careful to avoid electrical shock. All instructions included are easy to follow. Once they were installed they were easy to pair to my wifi network. My only complaint is with the Wemo app itself. It is somewhat "buggy" in my opinion. I have them synced with Alexa so the lights can be voice activated. I really like the away mode which allows the lights to randomly be turned off and on when your not home. This gives the appearance that someone is there. All in all, great light switches. One star removed due to buggy android application.

The installation is fairly easy and the instructions are helpful. I thought these would be a better alternative than smart lightbulbs and i was wrong.
You turn the other 3 way switch off and the wemo switch turns it back on, you have to do this about 5 times before it stops. And just when you think you are done they turn back on again. The connection constantly drops. I have two routers to keep my smart home separate from my gaming.

I have this installed to automatically turn on/off my porch lights. Have been satisfied thus far. Especially that it works with Homekit and Google Assistant! May look to replace a couple of iHome smart plugs with Wemo ones.

Be Aware - the Wemo app requires you to set up a new Account.
When I did this, it lots ALL of my prior devices and their rules.
I have 16 switches and another 10 plugs, so the frustration over this loss is not a matter of a minor inconvenience. Wemo customer services is inept - they insist that they can see my devices but they can't push them to my "new" account. Delete and reinstall the app is about the best they can offer. Escalation is done at their convenience - was told a senior tech would call back within 24 to 48 hours. Got a call while out on a run this morning 60 hours out from the original call, so well past the 48 promised. I asked for him to call back - told that was not really possible, but I could call them - sure and go through another slog session of inept phone techs and long hold times.
Over the past couple of years, the hub has fallen off the network several times randomly - finally even replaced it, but it still happens. It is the only device that does, so hard to see it as my network.
Sometimes the Wemo devices play nice with Apple HomeKit, sometimes they don't - that is why having the app and rules in it has been so important. And why the loss of everything is frustrating.
Changing to another platform isn't really an option given the current level of investment - but can't say as I would go down this path again.
