I purchased the first generation of WeMo dimmer switch a few years ago and had nothing but problems from day 1. That switch would frequently lose connection with the app so we had to use it manually (not a big deal but defeats the whole purpose of being able to control the wifi switch while away from home) most of the time. To make matters worse, the physical switch itself would freeze a couple times a month where nothing worked. If the lights were on when the switch froze, we couldn't press the physical switch to turn it off and vice-versa. Sliding the fingers on the dimmer wouldn't do anything and even pressing the white button at the bottom didn't reset the switch. The only way to reset was to turn the circuit breaker off and on. I called the customer service numerous times but nothing helped at all. Before replacing it with a dumb switch, I decided to pick another dimmer to rule out problems with my specific switch. This replacement switch looked slightly different and much to my surprise, this was the newest generation of the switch (the packaging was exactly the same as the previous gen so couldn't initially tell). I installed and connected it to wifi without any issues. It's been a couple months and lo and behold, we haven't had a single problem since. It works every time from the app, the physical button, the sliding dimmer and all the automation functions work flawlessly. I am a much happier camper now.

I got these smart dimmers because I've used Wemo smart plugs for years and overall they're great. I had Leviton smart switches and dimmers before and they worked great, except almost every power outage we had to completely reset and reinstall them. These Wemo smart dimmers have been rock solid for months, they were easy to install and set up, and they look great!

This is my 18th WeMo - WiFi Smart Dimmer. I really like the ease of use. I'm not the most competent handyman, but they install quickly and get located by the app quickly. All in all, I really like them.

Love the Wemo stuff. Bought these for a new house and never disappointed. Works well. Like the app and all the control and schedules. Also like that it will poll for daily sunup/sundown and can switch on and off according to that.

Great addition to my Wemo system throughout my house. Works perfectly. This one controls an LED spot light over my fireplace. Dims and brightens smoothly. Would like to see this in a 3-way switch as well.

This Wifi Switch is a huge improvement over the old Wemo switches that came out years ago. I was finally getting around to upgrading my smart home system and I couldn't find the old switches but I found these. The touch screen dimmer is really cool. It is compatible and works flawlessly with the google assistant. My only gripe, and this is a mechanic incompatibility I think, is that you cannot use the dimmer with using Phiilips Hue Bulbs in the sockets this switch controls. Not a HUGE issue, just a minor convenience since I typically used my phone or a google assistant speaker to dim the lights anyway. Added benefit is since it is attached to the home it increases the value while the Hue bulbs do not. I definitely recommend.

So easy to work through the app! Also Amazon Alexa was an easy pair as well as IOS home on my apple phone. The dimmers have an overall large backcasing, so they take up space/may not fit in switch boxes. Overall, good product!

I cannot get my Wemo switch to connect to the WiFi and the Wemo app. I have tried all the recommended WiFi setting and suggestions and it clearly will not connect. I have had this happen with other WEMO products. Stay away as this device is a setup headache!

I have Wemo dimmers and smart switches all over my house. Over 15-20. So far wemo dimmer has been great. I am not sure who is going to survive the battle between HomeKit, Google Home or Alexa. I got these cause whoever becomes the leading home automated system, these will work. It has options to select your type of bulb(cfl, led, or Incandescent). You can set your default brightness or nighttime mode to only turn it on to a certain percentage. I use it primarily with Apple HomeKit and Wemo App. Wait to talk to Customer service is super long but they respond faster if u tweet at them.

My house is getting smarter and smarter! I have almost everything Alexa-fied and these Wemo switches have been great. They are easy to install and the setup is very simple. Sometimes they lose connection to the wifi but 9/10 that's as simple as a wifi reboot to get them back. A little expensive in the short term compared to buying wifi bulbs but if you have a room with several lights (recessed lights) then its way cheaper to install a switch one time than to buy new smart bulbs periodically.

Over the last several years, many options have come out for smart light switches. We kept looking at what was available, but just hadn't gotten any of them yet, even as prices have come down. So, we finally decided to give the WEMO WIFI SMART DIMMER a try, and it is great! It is a simple looking design, with turning the light on/off by pressing the bottom of the switch. You will control the dimmer brightness by swiping up or down in the middle groove of the switch (and you do have to swipe from at least one level indicator away from your desired level). There are lit indicators to let you know the brightness setting. When it is off, the on/off area circle will have a slight glow as well as the current brightness indicator. You can also swipe to set the brightness before you turn it on. For me, the installation was easy. Just turn off the breaker, identify the wires to connect to, remove the old switch and get the new one all connected, then turn the breaker back on. It is a deeper switch, so make sure there is enough room behind where it is going so it will fit. Also, be sure that the light is not a 3-way, as this version will not work in 3-way switch configuration. The functionality you get in the Wemo app is very nice! You will need to do an initial setup of the switch in the app. It will go through testing and letting you set the dimmest and brightest setting. We have LED bulbs throughout the house, and pretty much all are dimmable. The ones in the room this switch was installed in acted a little weird after the first setup attempt. When setting the lowest brightness level, I had answered yes for when it came on, but it turned out it needed to be set higher in order to get the lowest brightness (guess just a strange bulb configuration). At the end, you can readjust the dimmest and brightest setting get it to work as/if you need it to. Using the app, along with the normal turning on/off and the dimmer setting, you can take advantage of several features. You can set a sleep timer (just in case you seem to fall asleep before turning the light off). There is a Night Mode, where you can set a start and stop time to automatically set the light brightness to a lower level (maybe good for a hallway, or the kitchen when you go to make your midnight snack still half asleep). Then there are different rules that can be set up. You can have the light turn off automatically after a default set amount of time after it is turned on. You can set a schedule to have the light turn on at a specific time, and if desired, have it turn off at sunrise. There is an Away Mode Timer rule (a "vacation mode") that can turn the light on and off randomly. And if you have another Wemo switch, you can program the Long Press on the switch to control the other switch (easy way to turn on both at almost the exact same time). Integration with home hub devices, such as Alexa, Google Assistant or Apple HomeKit, is fairly easy. Just open the corresponding app on your phone, go to add a device and connect it to your Wemo account. I have this switch connected to both Alexa and Google Assistant (using an Echo Dot and a Google Home Mini) and it works great on both for turning on and off and setting the brightness level. You can ask it to turn it on at a specific brightness. One thing I found that works with Google Assistant but not Alexa is asking if the switch is already turned on. So far, everything with this switch is great, and we'll probably end up getting another one or two of these!

Works really well without any issues. Easy to setup, but it's little pricey though. If it was priced at $20, I'll buy like 4 or 5 of them for the whole house.

This dimmer is everything I wanted and more. It's touch interface is smooth and elegant. It looks great in my room, it integrates nicely with the app and with the Home app on my phone. It's exactly what I wanted. Be sure you understand your wiring. I wired mine backwards even though I thought I was right. Took me a day of banging my head against the wall and wondering if it had to do with the neutrals I had to grab from the bundle in the box. But it wasn't, it was just my own mistake that slowed me down. Once it worked I was thrilled with the quality of the product.
