Wemo products are great Delivery went well Reasonable price

I tried to connect this WeMo smart outdoor plug...it was very close to WIFI output/input. Epic failure for me. But don't count on my review. Buy it and choose for yourself.

The Belkin TP Link is a better option as both plugs can be independently controlled with the Belkin. With the Wemo both outlets must be either on or off.

Heavy duty object. I am pretty tech savvy with many home automation devices but set up timer using app and it didn’t work for our Christmas lights. Will try again.

It took several attempts and resets before Google home accepted this plug. The indoor plugs were much easier. The though has been working fine for a month.

Good product for safely adding smart outdoor plug capabilities. Lacks true outdoor usability as it’s not rated for below freezing temps.

I have been using Wemo for over 5 years years and have 2 first gen light switches and 2 first gen plugs that I have been very happy with. Even when being a bit quirky I have always been able to get them to work. Not so for these outdoor plugs. In the 2 weeks I have been trying to use 2 of these to control my Christmas lights, they continually lose their wi-fi connection and need to be reset. I have reset each plug no less that 5 times and have finally given up and gone back to my old timers. I was never able to get rule to work for these plugs at all using the Wemo app, but that is a much lesser concern given I was able to use Apple Home as an alternative. One plug was in my garage 10 feet from an Amazon echo that has always performed well in that location, the other was 3 feet outside of my sliding door on my deck, again, where wi-fi has never been an issue. It is one thing to temporarily lose connection, all devices do, but the fact the plug is then effectively dead until it is reset and set up once again from scratch is just too much to deal with. And I tried over and over and over again.

It’ll the ease of use was not what I expected. Had difficulty with IPhone but better experience with an Android phone.

Purchased for Christmas lights. Works with HomeKit, but I wanted to connect to my Alexa-enabled devices. Plug won’t show up in WeMo app, so I cannot get Alexa to discover it. Set up was not as easy as other devices, just to get it added to HomeKit. Tried all of the online suggestions to get plus to connect to Alexa devices, but it will not work.

They keep getting disconnected. Not happy with these. The app keeps saying Not Detected even after setting it up. Not a repliable product, especially if you want to use these while away from home, which was the intent.

Works for off and on, rules haven't worked yet after many hours of trying.

Was excited to get these for our outdoor Christmas lights this year to go with our other Wemo products which we love. For some reason, when we try to set rules for these (we bought two of them) they don’t turn on or off when we need them to, we have to go into the app and do it manually.

Was so much setup that I didnt like it. And why does a pruduct need to know my location for a plugin?! I returned the next day. Usually its a easy download app, setup new device done. Not the case

Bought 2 of these for my outdoor Christmas lights. Worked well for ~3 weeks. Then we had below freezing temperatures and they stopped working. Was successful in getting one of the plugs reconnected to my network. The other one would not connect no matter what I did (updated firmware, restarted/reset modem, manually reset plugs). NOTHING worked. Ended up taking it back to the store to get my money back and kept the other. Hopefully WeMo/Belkin makes a more reliable version of this product next season.

Stopped working after about a week. Won’t connect or reconnect to WiFi. Resetting it doesn’t resolve the issues. Cannot recommend this to anyone.

If you’re home and want to control it wirelessly, it’s perfect. But, if you want to setup on/off routines you either need a HomePod or old iPad to do that.

It took me a few tries to set this up and I consider myself pretty tech savvy. Apparently, you need to be connected to a 2.4 ghz WiFi network to complete setup - not a 5 ghz WiFi. I didn't get this error until after it failed a few times. This may not affect all users but will if you've split out your WiFi networks. Once I unplugged the outlet and plugged it back in, it worked on the first try (after connecting to a 2.4 ghz WiFi network). Once setup, operating it was a breeze. The rules and timer work great and this will make it really easy to automate my outdoor Christmas lights or turn them on on-demand without having to go outside (like I would with a traditional outlet timer). The only reason I took away a star was for the setup process, but overall it's a great product.

Does not connect to Wifi or Alexa, even after several attempts found something that works cheaper at Walmart

This WiFi Smart Outdoor Plug from Wemo was simple and straightforward to set up and use. The Wemo app is intuitive and walked me through the process smoothly on my Android phone. After just a few additional steps, I had my Wemo account linked to Google Assistant, and can now control outdoor lights from my phone, by Google Assistant, or on a set schedule. Convenient! The plug itself seems rugged and relatively weather resistant. It does have a very short cord, and the outlet openings seem like they would be best protected facing down, so you’ll probably want to mount this on a wall somewhere close to your existing outside power outlet. The only thing to keep in mind is that the Smart Plug turns both outlets on and off together. This isn’t a problem for me, but if you need to be able to control two outlets separately, this won’t do the trick for you (at least not without getting a second one). Overall, this is a great product that does just what it’s advertised to do. I’m happy with it, and would gladly recommend it to someone else.
