A: Just purchased an eero and have had the same issue with our existing Wemo minis. In the eero app go to settings > troubleshooting > my device won’t connect > my device is 2.4 GHz only > temporarily pause 5 GHz. Turn off your phones with connection and reconnect. Now try to set up the Wemo plugs using the factory reset option on them. They’ll work perfectly to connect and the 5GHz will restart in 15 minutes and your Wemos will stay connected to the eero at this point. Kind of a pain but it works!
Q: Can I control this outlet with my Google home device or phone
A: Yes, I do.
A: No it is not GFCI, but most places require outdoor outlets to be on a GFCI in that circuit so should be covered by your GFCI outlets. No, it turns both plugs on/off simultaneously. Not sure on it's temperature rating. Didn't see any details on that in the manual.- only that it is IP44 rated.
Q: What is the total load (amperage) rating for both receptacles ?
A: 15 amps combined. The outlets are not independently controlled. I have 2 of these. They both have issues. One of them completed the setup process. It can be controlled manually from the app. However, I cannot get it to respond to rules. The other one will not complete the setup process. I have several other Wemo devices and they all work fine. I think the outdoor plug has some defects that need to be addressed.
Q: Is this plug dimmable? Or, is it only on/off?
A: This is ON and OFF and not compatible with dimmable lights. NO smart switch is compatible with dimming.
Q: Will this wi-fi plug work with the Smart Life App?
A: It should, but you'll need to sign up for and learn to use IFTTT. Look it up!
A: Sorry, but Belkin's WeMo does not have a dimmable Wi-Fi smart outdoor plug. There are other brands with this capability. Upon checking, it does not appear that Best Buy carries them, but it doesn't hurt to ask at your nearest Best Buy.
