Did connect to wifi after multiple tries but was not able to control from the App.Waste of time.

Wemo, you got me all excited about Christmas only to let me down by limiting my control to both plugs at once. I was really looking forward to individual control. With that said, they do state that it only provides control to both plugs at once, but without individual control, the only advantage I really see is being able to use a smart switch outdoors. I don't think it's a harsh review, because I'm still giving them 4 stars, but at least provide an option for it. Other than that, the app provides options for timers and routines. Connecting to the app was easy and intuitive. Like every other app out there, you do have to create an account just to use it, but that's to be expected. I do appreciate the little rubber cover for the outlet you aren't using.

This smart plug is great. Setup is a breeze and the features are really nice. Build: This plug is built solid, thick gauge wire, great plug covers, and a very nice on/ off button. I know that last one sounds silly, but it is GREAT if you want to quickly turn on/ off and don't feel like messing with an app. One aspect I didn't think about, but really enjoy is that there is a hole for adding a screw for a more permanent installation. Features: There is a pretty straight forward scheduling group and the voice assistant integration is great. There is also the ability to connect to wemo motion sensors but I didn't have a chance to test this. All in all this is a great product. I use it currently for my holiday lights, but would be great for use in a more permanent outdoor lights (string lights, etc.). Highly recommend.

Returned. Wemo tech support was no very helpful with indoor plugs that I purchased and also returned.

It will work for a while and then the app says not detected. I've tried all the troubleshooting tips including several resets but the same thing keeps happening. Even the reset doesn't always work. With my phone less than 3 feet away, it doesn't always recognize the plug forcing me to start over. The Wi-Fi signal on the phone is strong in the same place. Very disappointing.

Horrible. They constantly discount and can’t be found on either the wemo or the home app. I wish I would’ve purchased these through Amazon so that I can return them. Waste of money. Belkin has a lot of work to do with this technology. Worst purchase in a while. I had to go with my old timers and I have extremely fast and reliable inter as I have a fiber optic line.

I bought two of these and neither work. These only work for a few hours then are not detected. Follow-up all the Belkin WEMO support (hard to get a live person), including the factory resets but none of that worked. I have several indoor WEMO plugs and switches and a few others did not work. The ones that work are great but Belkin seems to have a quality issue

Have tried everything, can't get it to sync up with Google Home

Purchased 3 and returned 3. Not sure this device is ready for prime time. I have several other Wemo plugs and for the most part they work co consistently. None of these outdoor Wemos connected even after an hour with tech support. I may try buying again after their next version.

I am surprised how bad this product is. Belkin / WEMO have all the resources to make great products yet they somehow fail. Dropped connections, disfunctional scheduling, and a clunky app are what you get with this company.

I have several Wemo smart plugs are all are very difficult to connect to Wi-Fi and have issues staying connected. I believe it’s best to invest in a Wi-Fi outlet from a Leviton or Lutron. The outdoor outlet is not connecting at all.

Does not work with IPhones. We tried on 2 different iPhones and had 2 different sets of issues and after way too much time trouble shooting, it never worked and was just a big waste of time.

I have spent 30+ min trying to get this to connect to HomeKit, I have tried multiple devices, only 2.4Ghz network, reset network, phones and device multiple times. Going back ASAP.

The Wemo WiFi Smart Outdoor Plug is designed with outdoor use in mind, having a design that can be mounted on a wall with the outlets pointing downward to avoid moisture entering the sockets. Each socket has a durable, rubberized cover that fits snugly. Although it’s nice that this device has two outlets, the outlets work in unison in the Wemo app for control - you can’t control each plug independently which I found odd. Setup was easy using the Wemo app. Just go through a few steps in the app and it will be able to be controlled via Apple HomeKit, Google Home, or Alexa. The Wifi range was pretty good - it’s able to connect consistently within about 200-250 if unobstructed. Since this device is designed to live on the outside of your house, I’d drop this range down a bit since there will most likely be at least one wall between the device and your nearest wifi access point. I docked it one star just because you can’t control each plug independently. But overall, this device works as intended and it’s an easy way to control your outdoor lights or other outdoor devices via your smart home platform of choice.

This smart outdoor plug works perfectly. I have had zero issues with it so far and it has been rock solid. You download the WEMO app and hit the plus sign which adds a new device. You plug in the device and the app discovers it. You enter your Wi-Fi settings/password and you are done. The plug has 2 receptacles to plug things into. I am using one extension cord that powers all of my Christmas lights. The other one is vacant so I can add some lawn decorations later. I drilled a screw into my siding and mounted the smart plug to relieve stress on the cable of the smart plug. It has a big button on it for manual off/on. This plug feels solid and well built, it actually feels more durable and nicer than my regular non smart outdoor plug it replaces. After I was all setup, I went into the app and set a schedule for the lights. I literally did it in less than 2 minutes. It was easier than any smart app for plugs/lights that I currently use. I set it and have not had to worry about it and it works flawlessly. Overall, I cannot recommend this plug enough. It is rock solid, does exactly what it is supposed to, and you will not have to worry about it once you set it up. It has been a nice pleasant surprise for the holidays this tough year.

This is the perfect time of the year for something like this!!! We use it for the outside Christmas lights and we did eventually get it to work. I got the app, got everything set up and it would not connect. One of the troubleshooting tips was to make sure my phone was updated. Then the app (that I just downloaded) or reboot the WIFI. I live in a house that when rebooting the WIFI takes an act of congress because once it is rebooted everything in this house needs to be restarted. So, we rebooted the the entire system in the house, got everything working and still had problems. After messing around with it for a couple of days somehow it started working. Not sure what we did but it is nice to turn the outside Christmas lights on from work to drive home and see them, and shut them off from bed. I was hoping to get some snow or rain to confirm the outside use, but we have been in the 60's since I got this so I cannot comment of that aspect. I am glad I got it!!!

For some reason, the Wemo App would not let me sign up. I waited forever... This product is worthless.

Construction of the Wemo Smart Outdoor plug seems nice. The body is constructed of hard black plastic while the cord is heavy gauge UL rated outdoor wire. The entire device is rated IP44 Rainproof and has 2 tethered soft rubber covers for the outlets. And there is an integrated screw tab if you plan to mount the device to a wall, which is a nice touch.. Setup requires the installation of the free Wemo app from Belkin. I installed it via the Play Store on an Android device. After creating an account, setting up the device was simple enough. After initial setup is complete, you can start to create schedules which requires the creation of Rules. Strangely, you have to create a Rule to turn on a device and a separate rule to turn it off. Awkward, yes, but not a deal breaker. As for functionality, bootup time of the plug is fast, wifi range seems strong, and scheduling has proven reliable. Overall, the Wemo Wifi Smart Outdoor plug should make a good addition to your every growing connected home.

Returned it. It will only work with Apple Home. Could not configure any other way. WEMO this is disappointing.

This was my first smart outlet and I had a wemo account and the smart plug setup in under 5 min. It connected easily to the Apple home and Google home. I don’t use Alexa so I can’t speak to that but I’m sure it’s similar. These will be a perfect option for outdoor lights for Christmas. I’m also going to purchase another one for our Christmas tree. I get annoyed having to reach behind the tree everyday for a month to turn it off or on. Call me lazy, whatever. I will say I’m kind of surprised the plug even though it has 2 outlets, only operates as one device. Also, I had to find a plug with nothing in the bottom outlet since this is designed to come straight down so if you want to plug it into the top outlet it will block the bottom outlet. There’s also a spot on the outlet where you can screw it into place if you wanted to. This will make your life easier if you run Christmas lights or outdoor devices. I think this is a good purchase.
