The plug lose connection everyday needed to reconnect the plug in order to work

This is an excellent option for outdoor lighting, especially for holiday seasons. Very easy setup with the Wemo app which allows multiple options for setting up schedules and an away mode that randomizes the schedule. I tried it with the Google assistant on my phone and it worked perfectly. I don't have any issues with range because I have a video doorbell and a wifi range extender that is close to that area, which is the same area where I plan to use the plug. Just make sure you have wifi coverage where you want to use the plug. While the plug has two outlets, it does not allow them to be controlled independently. I imagine that for that feature, the cost would be more. For me this is a giant leap from the previous timer I used which only had a photo/light sensor to tell when it got dark before it switched on. If you need something easy to use to control your lights then this will work great for you.

Doesn't work half the time. Belkin products and software are going downhill.

Not good for Wi-Fi use stat away not worth the price either

I got this for the sole purpose of being able to turn my holiday lights on without stepping out into the cold and fumbling with a plug. This outdoor plug was incredibly simple to set up. Like most smart devices, you have to download the brand's app before being able to set it up with your Google Home or whatever ecosystem you have. The app is really easy to use and I completed and tested the plug in less than 10 minutes. Now all I have to do is open my Google Home app and turn the lights on, or say "Okay Google turn on the patio lights". Life just got easier.

I consider myself pretty tech savvy and like to have the latest and greatest gadgets. I never thought of a smart outdoor plug but glad someone else did. This device is great and its basically like any other outdoor 3 outlet plug except its a smart plug and can be controlled by any smart phone. It was easy to set up with the Wemo app since I had previous Wemo products and it works like a charm especially with Xmas lights. It is a smart way to control your entire set up and you actually can do without the sun up and sun down timers using this device. Love it!

I'm very impressed with this wifi outdoor power plug. Setup is very easy with the WEMO app and I had no problems at all connecting to my home network. It's push button simple and the power can be turned on easily and quickly with the phone app. The actual plug also has a button to turn on/off. The plug is rated up to a total of 15A between the two plugs. Right now I have a 5A load on one plug and there are no issues at all. Highly recommended!

The Wemo wifi smart plug is a network connected smart outlet for outdoor use. Setup was entirely done via the app. I had difficulty in the initial setup, with the app seemingly becoming unresponsive, and I had to quit the app and restart. Once that's up and going though, the app makes it very easy to control the plug (and thus my outdoor lights attached). I had difficulty with Google integration--accounts are linked, but can't get my Google account to recognize the device on my network. The plug itself seems well-made, though the cord to plug in is a little short, which made it a little difficult to get into my GFI outlets that are otherwise protected with a plastic cover. The outlets also feature rubber outlet protectors to seal an unused outlet against rain (it advertises itself as "weather resistant). Overall, it's really convenient for outdoor lighting. It's especially nice that you can control via the Internet without being on the same network, so with a phone, you can control the plug from anywhere you have cell reception. It's held up well against the elements so far, and the app, apart from some setup hiccups, is easy to use.

I picked this up for 1 simple reason. To control outdoor lights. Yes I have used a standard non smart timer plug outside before for xmas lights, but those are turned on/off by sunset/sunrise, and if you have a covered porch or location that might block the sun from getting to the timer, then your lights not might come on at the correct time. This outdoor smart outlet solves that issue. You can schedule right from your phone the turn on, and turn off times you wish to control the lights. Installation was super simple. Plug the outlet in. It should start blinking 2 alternate colors. Download the wemo app and either log in (if you have an account), or create a free account. Follow the simple on screen steps to connect to, and install the new smart outlet. Once done, you have the options in the Wemo app to setup times for on/off operation. Let me also add that YES this is compatible with Google Home, but the Google Home app does not give you the customization that the Wemo app does. All you can do with Google home is turn on/off the outlet. You cannot customize the features like you can in the app.

This will be the controller for my holiday lights. It took a bit to get connected to my WIFI network because the directions were missing the crucial step of connecting your mobile device to the smart plug WIFI. Once that is done, the setup went smoothly and once complete, all worked as designed.

I have been using Wemo smart switches for awhile and mostly find the system OK. Recent improvements, have made it better, especially with stability of the app finding all the connections. The wemo outdoor smart plug seems well designed although I wish it had a smaller foot print. AC plug is at a 90degress angle so it is flush when plugged in. Outlets are spaced sufficiently apart, and most important, the outlet covers do not get in the way as the move far enough away to allow the plugs space. Operation is smooth, and barely any lag in control. Pairing was easy but I do suggest you initially set it up inside close to your wifi source. It has a push button switch on the front, which I actually wish was less obvious, maybe on the side instead. All in all, works well and a big improvement on the old mechanical timer.

I have used WEMO switches in the past and really like the features they offer. This brings the great benefits of WEMO switches to the outdoor. Old timers you had to guess when it would get dark and readjust as days get shorter and longer. Other options of dawn to dusk operation isn't what I was looking for as I didn't want lights on all night. You can program this to come on at dusk and turn off at a set time. Better yet, knowing that sometimes dusk is too early, you can program it to come in a set time after dusk. I typically use 10 minutes after dusk. Connects to the WEMO app, and/or Alexa for more control options. You simply tell it how you want it to function and it does.

I use this as a replacement for another WeMo smart outlet that was not weatherized and I had to use a protection box Simple, effective and a great addition (outdoors) to my smart home

I've not been overly pleased with the WeMo suite of products to date. If you get them setup and working they aren't too bad, but getting them setup is quite a challenge at times. First, it's a very well constructed outdoor plug with a dual plug connection. Heavy gauge wiring and insulation. The WeMo software though is a bit troublesome in a few ways. I already have a WeMo dimmer in my office and it's been working well for about 2 years. I've got my WeMo account integrated into my Google Home so I can voice control it. I do recall it taking a little time the first time getting the dimmer up. But once I got it it's been fine ever since. Fast Fwd to this plug. I went into the app and set it up and believed I had it set, but then had to wipe it and start over a few times. In total I believe I had to go through the setup about 3 times before I got it working correctly on the network so I could turn it on/off using the app. Now to integrate it into Google Home. I setup a new zone outside and gave it a name and tried to add it, but it wasn't available for some reason. WeMo was only reporting the original dimmer. I had to completely remove the WeMo integration in Google Home to "refresh" the list so that Home would see the new light/zone. Once it was in the Home system I was able to control it with verbal commands through Google Home. So that was a Win! Since it's plugged into xmas lights I tried to go back into the WeMo software and set a rule to turn them off at 1am and on at 5pm. What I've found is that it never turns them off at night. But it does seem to be turning them on no problem. And now here a few days after getting everything working fine, It's no longer showing up in Google Home again. Seems to me that WeMo has some bugs to work out with their automation capabilities. Otherwise it's a decent plug.

By far my "best buy" of the year! So handy outdoors and in - I used it on my Christmas tree first. I will be looking at other WeMo products for sure.

Won’t stay connected to WiFi network for more than 10 hours, even when placed indoors. Totally invalidates the point of the device, constantly having to reset it. Would not recommend

I bought this plug in December of 2020, after months trying to get the plug to work with a sunset rule (on at sunset, off a set time) with WEMO support I finally reached a WEMO level 2 support tech who said this was a known issue with no current resolution. She mentioned that they are working on a firmware update but they have no estimated date of release. I asked for a refund which they agreed to provide. Unfortunately they only refund the price paid but no tax, so I am out the tax.
