I'll be 100% honest, when I was a teenager I was really into the 'Werewolf the Apocalypse" tabletop RPG, so I'm a little biased. This is a kind of fun, but severely unpolished game. If you were to pretend that this was a direct port from a late PS2 early PS3 game, it might be good. It is missing a lot of small tweaks, like death/fail animations, or stealth kill animations for your wolf (form). For some reason, it has horrendous load times for a game that is graphically not that amazing (running on a PS4Pro, this may not be an issue for the PS5 crowd). It also is more of an action game than an action RPG; It would have been cool to pick your character's attributes tribe etc. I'd "cautiously recommend" this title to die-hard fans of the property, noting that it is a very stripped-down and rough experience.

More of a 3 1/2 star game, so rounding up. First, wait for a sale- at $40, it would be an okay value, and at $30, pretty good deal. As it is, it's just too... not excessively great at anything it does to warrant its near-AAA pricing. And that's really it's biggest downfall; of everything it does, nothing stands out in any of its systems, graphics, gameplay- nothing is *bad* but nothing done is going to make you say, "boy, I hope XYZ from Werewolf is something my favorite series experiments with in its next instalment!" It's commendable, and even fun, that you get to play as a werewolf- so points there, but it's often hampered by restrictions and repetitive loop of fighting. The story is interesting and flows well... but that's sidetracked by voice acting that's all over the place, from good to bad *within the same character* fighting is fun, second-nature, quickly-learned button combos, but always taking place in PS2/ early PS3 "walled in" rooms... all examples of everything Werewolf does coming with an asterisk. Technically, I encountered, even with patches, about 5 crashes throughout one and a half games- generally when a cutscene would kick in, but checkpoint system is generous enough that 4 of the 5 times, it booted up to the next scene. Cutscenes themselves were decidedly unexceptional, outside of lighting, which was gorgeous. It had its hooks in me as far as a nice distraction from more story-driven or complicated games- it does deserve kudos for involving me enough where I felt compelled to start it up a second time to polish off getting a platinum. But, at its asking price, it needed to offer more. There's some promise here, and I hope Cyanide keeps the license and learns from what they produced here. Stealth either needs to be done away with or improved, fighting needs more & better skill trees, and being boxed in during every single battle needs to be left in the past. Had they used each biome/ hub as the living entity the spirits in each hinted at, offering the chance to tackle missions in an open world with random encounters, this game would have easily met expectations. Fun for awhile, but wait for a sale.

I initially bought this game based on memories of a classic Nintendo title of the same werewolf name. If you want to just go around and destroy stuff as a big bad wolf, this game gives you just that! Although it can get repetitive at times, there is fun to be had either destroying or exploring the area. There are stealth missions as well. Graphics aren’t the best, but the story is cool and the action is great! If you can get it for a good price, it’s worth a look!

This game is okay, but the combat is very repetitive. Don’t expect stellar graphics either, if that is what you’re interested in. It does have an interesting concept where you can use stealth, or just go wild and kill everything, but some more abilities and upgrades would’ve made the game more worthwhile.

It is fun to transform into a werewolf but the game can get repetitive in combat and missions.

A promising action game that could have been better. This game is little more than a button masher. The leveling system really didn't do anything for me during my playthrough. The graphics are nice and the games got great atmosphere, but it could have used more development.

I love how you can either be in stealth mode or just go all out in savage mode and wreak havoc. Must buy.

Turn into a massive, fearless werewolf and defeat your enemies without mercy. And yes, the transformation in this game is more epic than Twilight. #TeamJacob
