All time favorite movie. Saw the 1961 original when I was 16. Have it now on dvd, blu-ray & dvdthe 50th anniversary and the new 2021 version. Love them all. Really liked the Extras on the 50th Anniversary issue. I can watch this movie over and over and over.

It's West Side Story...what else do you need to know? Romeo and Juliet for what was then modern times...the turning of a decade from the 50's to the 60's. 1961 it WON 10 Academy Awards including Best picture. A full fledged movie done in the style of a Broadway Musical and with today's technology...sit back, dim the lights and crank the stereo and blast those speakers...you'll feel like you're a part of "THE" West Side Story!

While the vocals were not all performed by the actors (Natalie Wood was dubbed by Marni Nixon), the performances are top-notch, and you simply cannot compare this score to anything in today's world --- nothing quite compares to this movie. I have wanted to get this multiple times, but the price just wasn't right fora film of this age --- it was finally on-sale after Thanksgiving, so I purchased it.

is a testament to the musical and theatrical brilliance of "West Side Story" that this teenage urban love story, set to Shakespeare's classic "Romeo and Juliet," has survived its outmoded 50s-style book (Arthur Laurents) replete with "Dead End Kids" posturings and corny, streetwise lingo (I still cringe when I hear the word "daddio").

This production of West Side Story is almost as old as I am, but it's timeless. Blu-ray gives it a little more visual polish. Audio was state of the art in 1961, but leaves a little to be desired today - not the performances, of course. It's a classic, and I'm happy to have it back in my collection.

If you are a musical buff and haven't seen this one...shame on you. This is one of the oldest and well made musicals ever made. Most musicals are based from the structure of West Side Story. Add this one to your collection. I had it on DVD; but, decided to get it in Blu-Ray for the clarity and sound.

This film has been one of my favorites since I first saw it on the big screen many years ago. I have it on regular DVD but jumped at the chance to get the Blu-Ray when offered for $9.99. The Blu-Ray version is wonderful and the sound is as if I were in the theater. It is well worth it any price is you are a fan of this film.

I saw the original road show movie back in 1961. Being a New Yorker, I enjoyed the musical. The print is just as I remember seeing it in the theatre. Wonderful color, dancing, music.

Classic Movie that look fabulous on Blue Ray . Unfortunately I had forgotten I already owned the 4 disc Box set so I really didn't need this one but I realized my error too late . Highly recommend this Blue ray set .

What can I add to this great musical perfectly transferred from the stage to a big screen, photographed in 65 m/m film presented in 70 m/m with 6 track full stereo phonic sound in 1961? It's a perfect movie to enjoy with your big wide-screen flat HD TV with a great surround sound!!

This movie is a classic as it’s musical score and stage dancing confirm. The story is as timeless as “Romeo and Juliet”.

I have watched this movie several times in the last many years but it had been at least 10 years since I last saw it. Truly, I enjoyed it more this year than when I first saw it. I guess it must be the connection to my youth but I know I will watch it often in the future.

I've seen this many many times over the years, including in big movie theaters, but I decided to check out the remaster Blu Ray...Wow! I've never seen or heard it look or sound this good! Looks & sounds like it was filmed yesterday, not in the 1960's...Definitely worth buying!

West Side Story, the winner of 10 Academy Awards including Best Picture in 1961, looks great on Blu-ray and sounds fantastic in 7.1 surround sound. A couple of nice extra features are included with the disc, but the highlight is the film itself, a true cinematic masterpiece!

This is not only a great movie but it is a great musical. Natalie Wood and the rest of the cast was incredible. I've love this movie and highly recommend it especially for the younger generation. They can see how the struggle we faced in the 60's are similar today.

Looks incredible. Colors just pop. Beautiful. Audio is amazing as well. If you like this movie you will love seeing it on blu-ray. It looks as though it was made today not almost 60 years ago!

What can be said that already hasn't about this classic movie. It's got great music, great dancing, an awesome cast it's the ultimate tragic teenage love story starring the late great Natalie Wood. It's definitely a movie that should be in everyone's collection.

An Oscar winner for best picture, this film is one of the best musicals of all time and just a great movie overall. The blu-ray edition looks and sounds great and includes some nice extra features. Great buy for lovers of musicals and classic film.
