Overall, great cabinet for the money we paid as it was on clearance! The picture on the website and even the cabinet in store was lighter in color than the cabinet we got once opening the box. So, color variation could be an issue for you. Our cabinet was darker, but the color was consistent. Cabinet was packaged very well. Plan on 3 hours minimum for assembly, do not rush and follow the instructions. I did and had no problem assembling. On two of the doors, the metal plate behind the door knobs was not nailed in straight. I used a tack puller to gently pull out one nail, straighten the metal plate and used a small hammer to pound the nail back in. This cabinet has the option to used the wood panel doors or enclosed glass panels depending on the look you would you desire. When placing the plastic covers on the cam locks, I suggest tapping these covers on the cam locks with a small hammer and they generally flatten out pretty well vs. finger power. When applying the back panel, take care to make sure that the nails you use to apply that panel are going dead center into the edge of that supporting board on the other side of that panel or you will have splits in your board edges. Keep in mind, this entire cabinet is particle board with wood veneer applied over top. The factory did a great job applying the wood veneer, however particle board is not forgiving when nails are not dead center into the edge of a board, it will just split. Cabinet weight 135 lbs, so it is heavy and stable. There are also access holes to pass cables to the open area below where you would put a DVR or BluRay player, etc. Once assembled, it presents very well. Also included is a stain pen to touch up areas that might need a touch of stain and should be saved for future touch up needs. I gave it 4 stars because there were areas that could be improved. All the dowels were very loose in the holes, they should have a snug fit. Just minor items that overall don't deserve an "excellent" rating. One last thing, I don't recommend attaching the goofy anti-tip plastic piece to the surface of your cabinet. Many TV's have legs at the edges of the screen now and attaching this item will simply be an eye sore to the surface of your cabinet and likely ruin it if your decide later to remove it. In summary, I in-spite of my 4 star rating, I really do like the cabinet and if you take a look at the pictures, it does look really nice but you have to take your time when assembling to insure a great looking finished cabinet.

I will say I gave this product 4 stars because honestly I thought the price was a little too steep for the quality. But other than that, I really do like the console. It's beautiful and it goes really well with my furniture. Putting it together was a little time consuming but that was because I did it all by myself. I would absolutely recommend purchasing this tv console. I thought this was one of the better ones they had. You will not be disappointed if you purchased this item.

The stand took about 2 hours to build but was so worth it! Only thing I would suggest for the build is to buy extra wood glue! After searching about a week for the perfect stand, we stumbled upon this one at Best Buy. This stand was more durable than ones that cost 2 to 3 times the price. I could not be more happy with this purchase!

I have been wanting a new tv and tv stand for awhile and we were able to find the perfect tv and stand at Best Buy.

I was surprised at the great quality and look of this entertainment center. I was expecting this product to be cheap material, but it's not. It's heavy and looks really good (see photo).

This TV Stand is very nice looking and is a nice addition to my living room. However, it took us 7 hours to put together.

Liked fact that door appearance can be changed between wood and glass.

Went shopping for a TV, didnt need a console but i did need a sofa table. Saw this and thought it would work. Comes with glass doors and solid doors. By just installing the glass doors and leaving the backing off it makes a perfect sofa table. Nice and open for displaying items

My wife and I purchased this today at our local Best Buy. The service in the store was great. When we started to assemble it we almost immediately ran into problems. The bottom front wood trim piece was warped. The way you fasten that part initially is with 3 dowel rods with glue, and then 4 PLASTIC corner anchors with screws. Obviously plastic can't help straighten the wood out. I found some similar metal parts in the garage and used those instead. The next problem was a metal cam lock broke as I was tightening it down and did a fair amount of damage to the wood surrounding it. Fortunately, this is under the bottom of the stand where no one will see it. Overall the cam locks don't do a good job of pulling the wood pieces together resulting in a lot of gaps between pieces that should be tight. When installing the hinges onto the stand, I quickly realized that the pre drilled holes didn't match up at all on one of the doors. I had to wing it on that one but got a pretty good result. On the opposite side the pre drilled holes lined up, but the door is so badly out of alignment that it needs to be remounted. The adjustment built into the hinge isn't enough to correct the problem. Once I got the doors on, I realized that one of the metal knob mounts looks like someone colored it in with a sharpie? I have built a lot of cheap furniture using these assembly methods, but have never seen such a poor final product. I am going to call Whalen customer service, but I don't think this junk is fixable. I really just want my money back.

Nice and sturdy great look. Gave it four stars instead of five because you need to have it assembled. To many parts to do it yourself.

Great piece. Looks great with minimal issues. The doors were a bit tricky. Took me about two to three hours to put together. My wife and I love it, and would recommend it.

yes, this stand does look nice, but for $499.00 i guess i expected more from this! some of the wood was scratched, and was not impressed by the way it went togeher- doors didn't fit really well. on the plus side, my tv looks great on it, and it does seem solid! it isn't going anywhere anytime soon! heavy!!

This tv stand fit perfectly in my bedroom. It was perfect height. I needed something higher than normal so that I could see the entire tv screen from my bed. I live the quality of the finish and the many doors and shelves. It’s sleek and looks fancy.

We bought a television stand and came home and it wasn't the one we asked for, we took it back and Best Buy was very nice for exchanging it out, but when we got home and opened it, it still wasn't the one we asked for but it's a beautiful piece of furniture so we decided to keep it. We are very pleased with this purchase.

It was a MAJOR PAIN to get the doors on this cabinet (4 hours between two people) but once they were on, the cabinet is beautiful and holds everything well. Tip: when putting the back on the cabinet, line up both sets of nail holes on the cabinet and the back.

time consuming assembly, some hardware doesn't go together well and took some doing to make it work well. inspect your product carefully, had 2 different severely damaged units before we got a good one.

Almost didn't get this after reading some reviews. Since I am good with my hands and building things I decided to go for it. Don't have a clue why people complain about it unless they don't know what they are doing. I put this together in less than 4 hours. Everything fit nicely. If u haven't dealt with hinges like these before it may be a little difficult at first but just stay calm and read the directions and you will get them working properly. It is beautiful and very solid when done. Well worth the time to put it together.

The Whalen TV cabinet is attractive and sturdy. I didn't assemble it, but the technician who did took a very long time doing it. It is very heavy, so it isn't something I wanted to tackle. I hope Best Buy paid him well for it.
