Two great family films in one package
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Never Ending Story has been a favorite of mine since childhood. It's got great visuals - practical effects here, people, way before CGI - and characters you actually care about. You'll feel for the horse Atreau (sp?) rides. The film looks fantastic on Blu-Ray and still holds up today. There's some minor "eighties" moments, but overall remains timeless. Where the Wild Things Are is a fantastic take a children's classic. Sure, they had to embelish the story to fit it to feature-length, but what they've add and/or changed works. Of course the Blu-Ray looks fantastic with great visuals and sound. At this point I don't think I need to go into how great Blu-Ray is. This is a great package for a couple of great family-friendly films.
