I just love my Whirlpool refrigerator. It is so roomy and I love having the freezer on the bottom. The black stainless steel is beautiful!!!

Fridge rattles while running

Gave it 2 stars because it cools food as it should, also makes ice, and Bestbuy guys got it here just fine. This thing rattles like no other though every time it kicks on. I tried taping up the cords and hoses in the back, still nothing. There is something inside that rattles and if you give it a shake it stops, sometimes for a while, sometimes for a second, then comes back. It is the most obnoxious thing I have ever had. Almost wish I had my old refrigerator back. Clearly there is something inside this that is laying lightly up against another surface and causing a rattle with the vibrations while running. Someone didn't secure internal components as they should have.

So far so good. Effective refrigerator in general. No complaints. I wish the refrigerator closes like the one I had before, meaning it just needed a little push to close. But I like it, and I’m satisfied with it. Thanks.

I've had this frig (Whirlpool model WRB322DMBM) for about six months now. It was narrow enough to fit in the space occupied my our old frig, and it got a great review in Consumer Rep0rts, so we thought it would be perfect. Nope. I wish CR would re-review items after using them for a few months. This GE bottom-freezer unit would definitely get the thumbs-down. The longer I have it, the less I like it. Yes, it keeps the food cold. But don't they all? The worst feature of this unit is how the doors of both the fridge and freezer don’t’ shut firmly. We've had so many instances of everything in the freezer totally melting after the door didn't quite catch and shut all the way when someone has a late-night snack. When we notice this in the morning, it's too late. I thought we'd get used to this and become accustomed to shutting the door extra firmly, but that's not been the case. I've owned many refrigerators over the years, and I've never had one that shuts so poorly. Another negative--the light bulb in the freezer just burned out. It's an LED bulb, and it burned out in 6 months?! I'm guessing that a used bulb or a particularly low-quality brand was originally installed. Other negatives: the usable freezer space is very small. The bins have empty space below them that can't be used. There is non-movable space divider at the back of the top freezer rack that creates a tiny space. You can't move the divider to really use the area, so it's just wasted space. I also still miss having a water dispenser (which my old Amana bottom-freezer frig had) and a butter storage area on the door. I'd love to get a new frig, but after spending so much on this GE, I think we're stuck with it for a long time. These days all refrigerators can keep your food cold. It's the extra features that make the unit a good purchase or a lemon. This was a big purchase error for us.

Very loud noises coming from the motor or something. Drawers stick as they are cheap made plastic. Storage area in freezer horrible

We bought a house that had this fridge. The size, features, and price point were similar to the LG fridge we bought a few years ago at our old house, so we expected a similar experience. We were a bit disappointed.
Here are the things that we feel are a downgrade from the LG:
Size and location of the deli drawer
Ice bucket tends to overflow and spill
Freezer drawer does not open and close as smoothly
Freezer drawer requires more force to close, and easy to leave open a crack
No "door open" alarm
Besides those small complaints, the fridge keeps things cold, it's quiet, it works fine. But I think the LG was a better value.
We bought a new Whirlpool side-by-side fridge and moved this one to the garage.

This was an emergency purchase since our 16 year old GE french door fridge died unexpectedly and was not worth the repair cost. Was very excited for a bottom freezer since the french door fridge was a complete disaster in a small Manhattan apartment kitchen. The fridge is very quiet, and generates a lot less heat than my old GE.

I have had this refrigerator for a week now, and I love it so far. It replaced a 20.5 cubic foot unit with a top freezer. This refrigerator has more room for storage- the adjustable door compartments and shelving are well configured. The LED lighting helps a great deal with viewing items in the fridge and in the freezer. The freezer drawer is easy to open, and has good capacity.

I Won't Buy a Whirlpool Again

I am pretty disappointed with this refrigerator. Within two weeks of having it installed, the ice maker stopped working due to a faulty water intake valve. Additionally, the door, once filled with items, has become really heavy, meaning it must be held to prevent it from swinging back and damaging the hinge. In general, I've decided to not buy a Whirlpool refrigerator again. The last one I had lasted not quite four years before it stopped working and required about a thousand dollars in repairs.. so I opted to buy this one and I really wish I would have chosen a different brand. Whirlpool used to be reliable, but they as well as most appliance makers now, seem to be making really sup-par products.

Had this unit for about three months now. Lots of space, well lit and keeps everything cold. A bit noisy, but that doesn't bother me in the least. Very happy so far.

Ice maker fails AGAIN, and AGAIN, and AGAIN

Like the unit. Runs quiet and keeps the food longer than my old fridge. BUT the ice maker broke, was leaking water inside. I called Geek and they sent a guy who said he fixed it and sold ne a $150 plan that woyld eliminate diagnostic fees going forwar. His repair last two weeks. He came back, with no parts. Returned again and replaced it. That leaked after a couple months. He came back and said it was some problem with the water valve in the line. He had no part. A diff guy returned with that part, did a tests and said it wasnt the problem. Left and came back with a new maker a week later. That was six or eight months ago. Its leaking AGAIN! I called Geek, they said the plan i paid for (again in Jan) no longer eliminates diag fees! I told him to shove it. So now i have a Tupperware container that fills with water, becoming a block of ice every 48 hours along with a few cubes. The fridge is a machine and thins happen. But the Geek squad, is aptly named. Im taking my business elsewhere.

Not happy with refrigerator. The fridge door swings open so fast and bottles on door seems ready to fall out. Sometimes it's a chore trying to open the door. The old Kenmore worked so much better.
